Litebeing heading towards the dark side ?

get-attachment (25)

Anyone remember my Blog Story page which was written to accompany the My Story page?  Here is a quote from the first paragraph :

So as I go about my day,  I ask the Source, God, the Divine, the quantum field, the Universe etc..   to help me see the light. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes it works but I’m off my game.

Well, I have been off my game, BIG TIME! I do not like to blame transits or eclipses or really anything for my emotional tirades or crummy coping skills. I really am more interested in focusing on my reactions and accepting whatever shows up in my day-to-day life. However, I have had a real rough time with my laptop, health issues, and miscommunications with others. I have reacted in a less than stellar fashion. My natural Scorpionic tendencies have been in full force and it has been quite dark and un litebeing-like.

Now Saturn is approaching my Sun. I wrote about this when introducing the Cosmic Retrograde Challenge.  I am really feeling the strength of this energy now and it is testing my patience , focus, determination, and demeanor. I am not naturally exuberant dear readers, I work at it! And sometimes I am just plain cranky! I am working on finding a more effective way to manage the stress and the persistent doubts. It is within reach and I know I will eventually bounce back. This is what I do ~ I was made resilient and I am incredibly grateful. Otherwise I may not still be here.

You may wonder why I am discussing this here. One reason is that writing has been my salvation, especially since starting this blog. My soul feels lighter as I type each letter, word, and phrase. Another reason is my commitment to all of you!  I want you to realize that everyone has their off cycles, despite all the yoga, meditation, support, healthy diet, and prayer. I am a spiritual being having a human experience, not the other way around! Having an ordinary body and a brain that uses only a minute percentage of its potential capacity is like trying to write a masterpiece on a laptop that freezes at will and lacks the latest software ( like what I am using now!).  I wonder what it would be like if I could have a pure unadulterated spiritual experience in human form. I don’t mean a short-lived mystical awakening but decades of being in my body immersed in the less dense, higher vibrational worlds.

Have any of you been able to sustain this state of bliss?

Bottom line, it is critical that I present myself on these pages as transparent and vulnerable as possible. I cannot teach and inspire if I hide my uncertainties and trials. So there will be times when pain, fear, sadness , disappointment and frustration reside here, along with joy, hope, magic, excitement and glee. Some of my favorite writers pour themselves onto the pages and invite me to drink the bitter liquid to better appreciate its power.  Showing more of my range as a person allows me to paint a more nuanced picture with my words.

Announcements: I have some drafts pending that I am eager to share soon. There is a dream sampler that is quite exciting, along with my alchemical experiment with sugilite for the Cosmic Retrograde Challenge. I also am planning a top-secret post about the power of music plus some other surprises! Stay tuned…

Update: I have often referred to the music of Billy Joel to illustrate a particular theme or message. His melodies and lyrics are very soulful and sometimes catch me off guard with their tenderness, wisdom, and clarity. I wanted to include She’s Always A Woman on my last post, but it did not make it on the final version. I strongly sense that he understands the essence of a Scorpio woman. I did some research on his wives and discovered he married a Virgo and an Aquarius.  Their charts ( no birth time) did not reveal many Scorpion characteristics. I could not get any data about his first wife though. It has been publicized that this song was written about her! When I first heard it I really thought it could have been written by someone who was romantically involved with me.

Do you think it is Scorpio – worthy? Let me know your opinion.

Scorpio ~ ahhhhh

Ahhh Scorpio, where to begin..  Well, let’s start with the featured header. It is a picture of purple chrysanthemums I took near my house. Notice how at first glance these scorpio flowers sporting scorpion fuchsia are out of focus, mysterious, difficult to get a fix on. Now move your laptop or device further away and notice how the image becomes clearer and better defined. This is part of the Scorpio nature. We are difficult to assess, but can become better known if you persevere and change your perspective. Now mind you, I planned to take a clear picture and it looked fine on my phone. But it translated differently and served me well to prove this point about Scorpios.

This post is not going to be technically oriented or objective in any way. This is litebeing – right brain style, so get ready!  My intention is to describe what this season means to me and how I resonate with the Pluto/Mars vibrations. Yes it is all about me , because I am a true Scorpio and I want to share my personal associations with you today.

I really * like blogging and WordPress, like wow,1337 likes !

litebeing chronicles
October 22, 2013

1337 likes, yeah that’s sufficient! Sufficient is one of the many terms associated with like. Apparently litebeing chronicles was liked 1337 times as of 10-22-13. I started this blog on 1-11-13, so it all adds up I guess. One of the many things I like about WordPress is its eccentricities. Who else gives trophies for 1337 likes? I could check the forums to find out why, but I know better 🙂  I also appreciate that I receive emails from WordPress that start out with Howdy.  What’s not to like! Whoever is in charge of trophies and emails, thank you for your ingenuity, wit, and inventiveness 🙂

The word like has so much of a complex charge nowadays. Likes are a means of commerce and value in a way that was incomprehensible twenty years ago. I spend countless hours on Facebook liking so many things because I want to acknowledge that these pictures or status updates are cool or simply to acknowledge their existence.  Do you also find yourself hard-wired to like things publicly? Are you afraid to not acknowledge someone for worry they will consider you impolite?

All kidding aside, I am grateful for each and every time someone makes the extra effort to click on like for my blog. In fact, I hope to introduce more content that will elicit liking on a critical mass scale, one post at a time. I am always looking for ways to grow creatively and engage more of you. Your time is valuable and I am quite aware you could be doing something else. Yet, you are here! Like, how cool is that!  Like, very cool indeed.

Ready for a little history and etymology –

According to the Online Etymology dictionary:

like (adj.) Look up like at“having the same characteristics or qualities” (as another), Middle English shortening of Old English gelic “like, similar,” from Proto-Germanic *galika- “having the same form,” literally “with a corresponding body” (cf. Old Saxon gilik, Dutch gelijk, German gleich, Gothic galeiks “equally, like”), a compound of *ga- “with, together” + Germanic base *lik-“body, form; like, same” (cf. Old English lic “body,” German Leiche “corpse,” Danish lig, Swedish lik, Dutch lijk “body, corpse”). Analogous, etymologically, to Latin conform. The modern form (rather than *lich) may be from a northern descendant of the Old English word’s Norse cognate, glikr.

Formerly with comparative liker and superlative likest (still in use 17c.). The preposition (c.1200) and the adverb (c.1300) both are from the adjective. As a conjunction, first attested early 16c. The word has been used as a postponed filler (“going really fast, like”) from 1778; as a presumed emphatic (“going, like, really fast”) from 1950, originally in counterculture slang and bop talk. Phrase more like it “closer to what is desired” is from (n.)

Look up like at Dictionary.comc.1200, “a similar thing” (to another), from like (adj.).like (v.)

Look up like at Dictionary.comOld English lician “to please, be sufficient,” from Proto-Germanic *likjan (cf. Old Norse lika, Old Frisian likia, Old High German lihhen, Gothic leikan “to please”), from *lik- “body, form; like, same.”

The basic meaning seems to be “to be like” (see like (adj.)), thus, “to be suitable.” Like (and dislike) originally flowed the other way: It likes me, where we would say I like it. The modern flow began to appear late 14c. (cf. please).

Numerology – The number 1337 reduces to 14 which reduces finally to 5. 5 symbolizes change and freedom  and is associated with the planet Mercury. What I would give to get a look at WordPress’ chart!

UPDATE: Thanks to Julianne, I ran a chart for WordPress and wouldn’t you know, it has the sun at 5 degrees Gemini! Now I understand where the whimsical 1337 comes from! Gemini is associated with the planet Mercury and Mercury is associated with the number 5. On top of that, Gemini is at 5 degrees no less. On a personal note, my IC is exactly conjunct WordPress’ sun. This means that this blogging platform symbolizes my soul, my beginnings, my foundation,my family, my home. Even when I cannot use my GoodReads widget or music player. Even when my stats do not add up. I forgive and move on because something sacred is at work here. The astrology simply confirmed what I knew instinctively.  I can share the truest expression of my being here and bask in the warmth of kinship and genuine community. WordPress is truly family to me and I really like that!

Cosmic Retrograde Challenge – We are set!

Mandelbrot_detail6 (2)

Mercury went retrograde today.  While I am not superstitious about this poorly hyped cycle, I must confess that I already have a story to tell , entitled ” American Laptop Horror Story”.  I am saving this tale for a later date because I want to gain perspective so stay tuned ..

On a brighter note, I am happy to report we have a full 9 day challenge schedule.

Can I hear a big collective woohoo!

Here is the complete schedule for the upcoming challenge:

November 9 – Julianne

November 10 – Heidi

November 11 – Shree

November 12 – Karen

November 13 – Sindy

November 14 – Sue

November 15 – Barbara

November 16 – Lehua

November 17 – Linda

I will post this again as we get closer to the time for the  posts to make their debuts. I know that this will be an extraordinary opportunity for folks to experiment with the old and new.  Since this particular retrograde is in Scorpio, this energy can be used to dig deep, uncover old secrets and barriers, and then restore, renew, reinvent, and reemerge victoriously.

Does anyone have any Mercury Retrograde incidents to share as of today?

How did the Eclipse affect you? Let me know your stories.

Cosmic Retrograde Challenge

With Mercury going retrograde next Monday on October 21, 2013 and a new series of eclipses starting this Friday October 18, 2013 in Aries, and then on Sunday November 3, 2013 in Scorpio ( woohoo!  practically on my birthday, which is  the day when we have an exact Saturn Sun conjunction – good times !), I have become inspired to initiate a fun and powerful challenge. In the process of purging and letting go, I have spent much more time going through my closets and drawers ( literally and spiritually). I have discovered so many items that I long forgot that I had. I rediscovered this amazing Sugilite necklace I purchased at least 15 years ago. I really cannot recall how long it has been, but I remember the wonderful salesperson who introduced me to this rare and beautiful gemstone/crystal. I started wearing it again to relieve headaches and other physical ailments about a month ago ( around September 15th). My psychic abilities have been off the charts and I feel more ” like me” when I wear it. It dawned on me that there must be a subtle but viable rhythm to this event.

This experience has gotten me thinking more and more about alchemy, parallel realities and all things quantum.  Two bloggers in particular : Shree and Barbara, have gotten me ruminating more on the power of alchemy. Shree takes Alchemy classes and Barbara just blogged about Alchemy in her most recent ( and might I add, brilliant!) post.  I also recently finished  reading The Alchemist, yearning to wrap my brain and soul around this mysterious process. I have been wondering how my 2013 self is reconnecting with this “old” Sugilite ? I have also been playing around with probabilities and possibilities by making a decision and then doing the opposite to see what happens. This reminds me of what happens in the dream world where you set a direction and almost immediately, people and places and outcomes morph.

Here’s the challenge:

1- Find an item you never use or never wear but you feel very drawn to. It could be an article of clothing like a hat or jeans, or a CD that you haven’t played in years. Hang up a poster or picture that is hiding in a closet. Prepare a few meals from an old favorite cookbook that’s been neglected. Reread an old novel. Wear that old hat. Play that album. Wear an old scent that you are fond of. Watch several episodes of an old television series. Find something old that still resonates for you NOW.

2- Wear the item or use the object or perform the activity repeatedly for  a minimum of one week ; three weeks would be ideal.

3- Observe your thoughts and feelings to assess any significant changes.

4-Then journal or meditate on your experiences to gain more clarity.

5- Finally, blog about what you have discovered. free domain

This exercise is perfect for both the pending mercury retrograde in Scorpio and the Aries/ Scorpio eclipses.  Aries , the dominant cleansing fire energy and Scorpio , transformation through excavation and regeneration, are so strongly in play for the next month or more. Blending old and new during this very powerful time can be exhilarating and quite healing! Throw logic out the door and come play with me. I hoping to get at least 6 people to sign up to this challenge, but would be thrilled to get 60 or more!

Sign up in the comments section below and let me know when you are going to post, starting with Tuesday October 22, 2013.

Any date through the end of November is fine!

I am pleased to present my review * of Julianne Victoria’s  Butterfly Journal. It has been wonderful to work with this lovely lavender book that captures the essence of Julianne’s intuitive spirit.

Butterfly Journal by Julianne Victoria ~

butterfly_journal_cover_for_kindle (1)

Butterflies tell us the story of being in flux, lingering in darkness, feeling isolated, embracing the state of limbo and then finally and miraculously emerging brilliantly reborn and free. Meta – morphosis means beyond form.  This interactive journal takes the reader through a monthly process of prompts that support the inner work required for lasting personal transformation. Each month builds upon another as you  reflect, write and/or draw and then reflect some more, taking with you the wisdom gleaned from the previous month. For example,  the first month focuses on  self – reflection and taking a self- inventory, month two is devoted to an examination of truth, and month three  is an invitation to live in faith and love of self. You can start the journal whenever you like. I started mine immediately after the Autumn Equinox .

The journal is big enough to really dig in and write and doodle and explore to your heart’s content. Each page is decorated with a stunning butterfly image. This beautifully illustrated book is designed to gently encourage the reader to see their potential while gazing at the butterfly on every page. I was certainly inspired to pour my heart into each page knowing that I am on the path to transformation.

Why you should buy this journal: It is thoughtfully organized, beautifully designed, and embodies Julianne’s unique recipe for self-realization. The monthly prompts are very effective and the format is quite cohesive. I am really enjoying this process, knowing that Julianne’s energy is encouraging my self-exploration. Come join me and you will see how this delightful book can jump-start the progress of stepping into your true nature.

Glorialana Magazine

Hello God!

Thank You for this luck to live providing to all of us. You know not only we but the whole Universe is created by pure luck. Stephen Hawking in his book “The Grand Design” writes: “Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist.”

Professor continues “That makes the coincidences of our planetary conditions – the single Sun, the lucky combination of Earth-Sun distance and solar mass.” So we all are lucky to live.

I am awarded for the 1000th comment in my friend’s Linda blog. It was a pure luck and lucky combination of myriad of factors in this time and space continuum. I call myself a Good Luck Charm for Linda and sincerely believe it works. I am accepting the award with great gratitude and joy. Thank you Linda for your lite being in my life.

Book Review – When Stars Die

I am very pleased to present my review * of When Stars Die by the exceptionally talented Amber Skye Forbes of  amberskyeforbes .  I am very inspired by this modern renaissance woman who divides her time as ballerina, college student, prolific author, and savvy social media navigator! Her writing reflects her ideals: increasing awareness of  teen and young adult challenges with depression and other mood disorders, authenticity, passion, tenacity and willingness to color outside the lines of predictability.

When Stars Die by Amber Skye Forbes –

Amelia leaves home with her younger brother Nathaniel to a convent to become a nun. She makes this choice to make up for her parent’s sins and to protect her brother and his identity –  he is a witch! When it appears that Amelia kills her best friend Colette in a fire, she learns the truth that she is also a witch. Amelia is unable to tolerate the trials on the path to becoming a nun, and sees figures that are invisible to others. These figures are after her. Oliver appears on the scene and agrees to help her. They eventually become lovers after Amelia is asked to leave the convent. Eventually Oliver’s true identity is revealed and Amelia does what she must to protect her brother and save the witches from a dire fate.

I am new to this genre, but I was very invested in the story and believe it will be quite popular. My lack of familiarity with this genre may have impacted my ability to follow certain plot points.

The characters are intriguing. Amelia is a loyal sister, a strong, determined young woman, and a reluctant witch. Oliver is hopelessly smitten with Amelia, but cannot give into his love because of past sins and obligations. But what I found problematic about some of the characters is that I didn’t think Nathaniel was well-developed, and that I was also confused about Oliver’s motives. However, I liked the bond between Amelia and Colette. I also liked the loyalty Amelia displayed towards Nathaniel.

I loved the author’s incredible attention to detail. Her ability to create this fictional world drew me in and kept me interested. I became invested in the romance between Amelia and Oliver. I was also curious about why she left home and her background. I was also fascinated by the background of these invisible figures only Amelia can see.

As for the pacing, the first few chapters were a bit slow-moving. I also wanted to know more about Amelia’s parents and the relationship between Amelia and them. I was also unclear about the time frame. Was it an actual period in history or some type of composite? References to trains, cigarettes, apartments, and cabs made me wonder more about the setting for the story.

Overall, anyone who enjoys YA paranormal romance, or any stories of the paranormal genre, will enjoy this book. I give this book 5 stars since most readers are likely to enjoy it.

Poetry in Motion

What is poetry in motion? It is part of the first line of the song She Blinded Me With Science by Thomas Dolby. That is how this post’s title came to me today. But what does it look like from the inside out? It is absolute, unadulterated FEELING. It is timelessness and spaciousness rolled into NOW.

I decided to go outside for a nature walk to shoot something for today’s post. While I was sitting here on the laptop I hear what sounds like wind or rain.  I peeked outside and discovered that it was just beginning to rain. My first reaction was ” Damn I waited too long to go out!” Yet a few minutes later I grabbed my keys and cellphone, took off my glasses and walked out the door. The rain started to come down more forcefully and I decided to proceed. It is very warm today so it mimicked a summer storm. I did shoot one picture and realized that instead of hiding from the rain that I would embrace it! I felt so free and untethered. It was cold and wet and clean and exciting and I felt so in it!  I lifted my arms and let the forces move through meWhenever my thoughts turned to how soaking wet I was or will my phone stop working, I steered them back to the moment! I was determined to feel the moment and dance with nature.

To quote a term from the film Dazed and Confused,  I was LIVIN,  L-I-V-I-N!

So poetry is all about feelings for me. I write poems when I am full of emotion and I read poetry in order to feel something. That simple.

get-attachment (18)This was taken in the rain, still looks good !

I am adding a new poem today for your reading pleasure. It will be random and hopefully representative of today’s theme. Let’s find out together now …………….

This may appear planned but I swear it was random! I went to rifle through some old notebooks hoping to find one of my old  poems. I opened the first one I found and saw some sketches. I turned a couple more pages and saw some writing. I looked closer and saw it was a poem. It was written in 2005 and the title is Raindrops. Clearly I was guided here.

Raindrops, rain drops

all over the island of Love

Wet, sticky, musty, moist

Do I float or do I drown?

Where does the ocean end

and my tears begin?

Cry for the gulfs

Gulf of Mexico

The Gulf of Middle East

The Gulf between my beloved and I

Can one taste the salt

in both tears and deep blue sea?

Does  he cry for me?

Does he lie for me?

The rain splendidly showers

its music on the flowers,

iridescent treasures of the morning dew

Yet our jewels together were so few

Yet they shine like the Heaven’s light,

so shatteringly bright

I have compiled all my poetry posts here for convenient viewing or re-viewing.

Poetry Man is an old classic by Phoebe Snow. I recall hearing it many mornings on the school bus, thinking longingly about my high school crush. He did not write poetry, but he certainly inspired me to feel ……

Returning Home : Part IV – Sacred Dreamspace at Abington Short Stable

get-attachment (17)

All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.  Edgar Allan Poe

Dreams are today’s answers to tomorrow’s questions.  Edgar Cayce

There is no such thing as a dream with only one meaning.

All dreams and dream images are “overdetermined,” and have multiple meanings and layers of significance.  Jeremy Taylor

The interpretation of dreams is the royal road to a knowledge of the unconscious activities of the mind.  Sigmund Freud

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man. Zhuangzi

Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake. Henry David Thoreau

Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.  Carl Jung

Nearly two years ago ( right before my birthday ) I drove up towards the lovely old Quaker Meetinghouse in Abington, PA. It was a sumptuous Autumn day. The dazzling November sun stood high above and smiled upon the fall foliage in all its multicolored splendor. Leaves of burgundy, gold, mahogany, and rust wore their costumes proudly under the brilliant sapphire sky.  As my car made its way up the hill I felt as if I was being reborn again. My soul was being restored to its default setting – miraculous pure glory!!

Backstory: Around 2010 or 2011 the idea came to me to return to dream work. It was the right time to reopen that particular door. Perhaps I was looking for experiences I could rely on that were abundant and easily accessible. Yeah I am one of those people – I remember some of my dreams almost daily. Even today when I felt relieved that I had no recall, an hour or so later the storyline from last evening’s drama appeared in my waking mind. As a child and adolescent I had thought everyone dreamed regularly and remembered the details, not just the nightmares!  In college I took a dream course with one of my friends.  We had a blast. We studied and processed dream material from Freudian, Jungian and Gestalt perspectives. I still prefer Jung to this day. I think that he has a more evolved perspective than Freud and a more transpersonal approach than Perls’ Gestalt philosophy. My boyfriend at the time ( yeah him !) and I would process our dreams together every morning, He has the moon in Cancer and mine is in the 4th house so dream sharing came naturally to us.  I have been fortunate to find some very sensitive and intuitive men throughout my adulthood who are active dreamers like me. When I was in high school though, I felt isolated about my active dreaming and terrified of the pre-cognitive dreams that I was experiencing.  Fortunately I came to terms with the dream process through support from others and studying Psychology.

So around 2011 I decided to follow my intuition and seek out a dream class.  I found an evening  dream workshop in my community. I remember entering the dimly lit church and walking through the dark corridors. There was magic in the air. The class itself was not that informative but many of my fellow students were truly major dreamers. They spoke about lucid dreams, recurring dreams, psychic dreams, astral travel, returning to dreams after awakening, and more.  They were my people!  One woman mentioned Pendle Hill  ( one of my sacred places) and Quaker meeting early on in the evening. I knew that was a sign. Later when we exchanged contact information she told me about an ongoing group held at Abington Meeting.

get-attachment (16)

History of Abington Meeting and Short Stable: According to The original meetinghouse was erected  between 1698 and 1699. By the middle of the 18th century Abington’s meetinghouse was the only building large enough to hold Quarterly Meeting. This is the event held 4 times a year when all the monthly meetings in the area come together to conduct business. In 1760 a blacksmith shop was built adjacent to the meetinghouse. Many Quakers came to meeting in horse-drawn vehicles or on horseback; by having a blacksmith shop and engaging a smith for the day they could have their horses shod while they worshiped or attended to business. This structure still stands and is currently known as “the Short Stable”.

Abington Dream Group: So I arrived at the Short Stable and entered this historic building. I immediately had a deja vu experience. I felt at home and I was beaming with joy. I was welcomed by the leader and other dreamers as if they were expecting me. In fact it felt like I was at my own birthday party. To call the situation surreal would be an understatement. The room was filled with love and sparkled with electricity. The energy from the roaring fireplace seemed to ignite and sustain the group’s ability to share and process the dream material put forth. It may sound like a cliché, but my initial visit felt like an actual dream.

We use Jeremy Taylor’s dream theory and format to operate the group. Jeremy Taylor has been writing and practicing his own version of Jungian dream work for over forty years. He emphasizes that the dreamer’s perspective is the most important and that all dreams occur to teach us something. Like Jung, he  stresses the symbolic  and multi – layered nature of dreams . He  also insists that the dreamer will feel it in their heart when they hear the correct interpretation.

The intersection of this sacred space and the people who are attracted to it is what makes this group extraordinary. The people are new friends  I have known forever and the insights made manifest are amazing.  I included this Dream group in the Returning Home Series because the Divine dwells here for me. Dreamwork is a lifelong route for me to access the divine but this particular group is Divine in action.  Some doors are better kept locked and shuttered. This door however led me back home.

Music: I included these 3 videos for 3 different reasons ~

The first is a Grateful Dead song that constitutes ” prep work” for initiation into altered states of being.  Its inclusion here is more intuitive than logic bound! The title The Golden Road to Unlimited Devotion is evocative to a place one visits during a deep meditative state. I loooooved this song as a teen and saw myself as the girl in the song. Keep your mind open ……

The second song is Hold On Tight to your Dreams , an upbeat classic by ELO that has cutting edge visuals and an uplifting message. Just like the dream world, it takes you on a mind bending ride.

My final choice is Dream Weaver, a simply beautiful song  by Gary Wright accompanied by breathtaking imagery. It is an aural and visual banquet. Partake with abandon!
