Musings ~ Aquarius is coming, thank you (insert Deity here)!

1/19/22 Update: I am excited to report that the Sun moves into Aquarius this evening at 9:39 PM EST. I am very biased but what can I say, I am so over all the Capricarnage of the past 2 years, lol ! Enjoy this retro post and enjoy your day ( or evening)1 BTW reblogs are very appropriate for Mercury retro season.

Can I tell you how thrilled I am that the sun is changing over to Aquarius at 10:51 PM Eastern time?  Well I guess I can, because the blogging gods(esses) asked me to write today. The sun was out and despite the frigid temperatures, I felt some relief. I am not anti- Capricorn and we are still in my 12th house for a while, but I need some respite from Saturn. Yeah I know Saturn is the original ruler of Aquarius but this Aquarius rising has had enough of Saturn’s coldness lately. Even with the Pluto/Uranus square in play, I am ready for the zing and zap of Uranus and the altruism and ego transcendence of the ” Shift”.  This is not an ” Expert” article today. This is about amazing Aquarius art, emotion, nostalgia, and iconic music.

I grew up in the 1960s so I knew about the Age of Aquarius very early on. There was a band that was very popular called The 5th Dimension. They recorded music for the soundtrack for the counter-cultural musical Hair. I grew up repeatedly hearing terms  like the 5th dimension and Age of Aquarius. In 2014 I am still trying to grasp their true essence. Hair debuted around the time my second grade teacher helped me create the solar system out of paper mache. I can still see that image in my mind’s eye. It was a major turning point for me. I am so lucky to have not changed schools until 3rd grade. My teacher believed in me and her influence was unlimited.  That is when my interest in astrology began. It is funny that my parents did not discourage this hobby/obsession. They were classic traditionalists.  It was probably because mainstream culture embraced it back then. In my parent’s house all four of my family’s sun sign plaques are still hanging on the kitchen wall. My parents even saw the (then controversial ) play Hair. Oh how I wanted to see it in high school, but I was not allowed to go. But in 1979 the film came out and I saw it with my father! Odd I know , but he liked the music and the play. Maybe he was trying to prove how cool he was to his teenage daughter.

I know Aquarius can be seen as cold and aloof and very superior, but in an elevated state it is about life. The water bearer arrives with life affirming water. That water can be refreshing or freezing. It depends on your point of view. I do not know if the Age is totally here. I think that we have gotten glimpses of it for many, many years.  I have a feeling that when we are fully in it, we will be very surprised by its appearance and power. Back in the mid 1960s when the Uranus/Pluto conjunction was in full force, I was too young to understand or even recognize the revolutions, upheaval, and violence. I recall the arrival of the Beatles, astrology, cool fashion, psychedelic colors, unusual music, and the acceleration of space exploration. As I type this, I am having a mini-epiphany. I was fascinated by the space program and that probably also contributed to my curiosity about astrology. I do remember the moon walk and no, I am not talking about Michael Jackson! I grew up during a time of excitement, experimentation and optimism.  The landscape is different today, but we can still choose optimism over cynicism. Even with the current backdrop of the Uranus/Pluto squares and the upcoming cardinal cross, it is still a choice. How awesome is it that we can choose all of our reactions to circumstances. What do you choose?

Then ask yourself:

Were people misguided in the 1960s about love and peace prevailing over war and greed?

What does revolution mean to you?

Are you glad I have resumed asking questions?

What does the spirit of Aquarius look like?

How does it operate in your life?

peace out,  litebeing

  1. I loved the 5th Dimension. I had the record with Aquarius and Up Up and Away in my beautiful, my beautiful baloooon! 🙂

  2. Dear Linda,
I thought that the “psychedelic colors” bold-faced phrase might a colorful link, but it wasn’t. Perhaps, I was ready to go on a trip ‘here and now’!

To me, right now, revolution means surpassing any and all limitations where illusions of *lack” rob us from everything we are capable of; when the truth is, we have plenty of supply.

As Aquarius is the water bearer, and an air sign… we are so fortunate. 🙂

    Love you,
    Ka

    1. Love ya too. Hmm, maybe I can find someplace to link it too. 🙂
I am thrilled to have Aquarius front and center, it is an expression of these times we were born into. Great definition.

It is the dawning of the age….

      xx, Linda

  3. As an astro-analphabet, I cannot say much about this post, except that I like the music from Hair. I don’t know about Aquarius, but if it brings peace then that is awesome.

That question resonates with me. I try to choose inner peace regardless of the circumstances.

It is remarkable that you fell in love with astrology in 3rd grade already. And that your teacher played an important role in this. This sounds like an important relationship which was planned before birth to get you on the path.

    1. Astr -analphabet, will have to look that one up! If you live on this planet, you know something about our solar system by virtue of your experiences.I”m teasing you just a bit!

I never considered this. But she jump started my interest in the planets and art with the paper mache project. One of my happiest childhood memories. I was seen, noticed, nurtured, felt special.. As we all are but forget so so quickly. Per usual, you give me more to consider and I love it!
      peace out, Linda

  4. I like when you ask questions! I wondered recently about what had happened to the hippies. I suppose there are plenty still out there, but I think an above reply has it right – the money seems to have won out. It makes me care about it much less when I see what it has done to the world. I suppose we are meant to be here and witness these moments, but that does not make it any easier to fight the matrix everyday. I want to shout from the rooftops, “WAKE UP!” I have to yell this at myself from time to time, as well, so I can’t be too upset!

I love seeing more astrology in your writing and am thankful for the insight it provides. I am trying to learn but there is so much to be learned, it can become overwhelming.

If you read my other comment here to Aleya you know I am quite partial to Pisces 🙂 I have at least 2 other male blogger Pisces friends at WordPress who are also great people with awesome blogs. You most likely have some Aquarius in your chart as well since it is neighbors with your Pisces sun 🙂

    1. Thank you Aleya. I have Neptune conjunct Sun with Pisces intercepted in my first house so I am also partial to Pisces. It is tricky if you have your feet in both systems, but I would say in either system that you would most likely have planets in neighboring signs. So you probably embody both of these energies. In addition, with progressions our personal planets either move forward or sometimes retrograde back into neighboring signs. So enjoy the energies! If you would like a consult, contact me. 🙂

      1. Dear Linda, sorry for my silence, I am always here with you :-). You know the Soviet history defined the period of 60s as the most profound and effective. I suppose no revolution in the Soviet Republics took place in 1960.
Have a wonderful day! I will answer :-).

happy as always to hear from you. Perhaps the time for revolution is now?? I hope to live to see the time when our planet lives in peace and harmony and freedom.

      3. Yes, the revolution is in Ukraine now. It is good and bad event. Bad, because of its cruelty, good – changes are promised, but the way is hard and bloody, unfortunately. I observe that a personal revolution in a need of changes is cruel and hard too. So our planet is changing every second, we are here to hold the challenge of changes. No hope for peace and harmony due to differences of understanding, perception and definition :-).

  7. Linda, my partner Rich & I were having a discussion the other day re; the ’60s generation – the Hippies, the movers & shakers & Peace Frontier-ers…. WHAT HAPPENED?? They grew up to be the Capitalists of the 80s! HOW on EARTH did that come to be? OR did they silently melt into the background whilst others of their generation, grumping their way through the psychadelic peace-loving era, finally took centre-stage as the 80s hit? Where did all the hippies go? I know there are still some out there – I know, because my dad is one, unequivacally! And thank the Divines the hippie gene was passed down to the only daughter 😀
But we – Rich & I – did find the shift from the 60s to the 80s, with the same growing generation, an intriguing one – and a very sad one. I wonder what the world would be like now if the 60s Lovers had won out & continued….?

    1. I wonder also what the world would be like! Thank you for your thoughtful comment Heidi. I think that most of the hippies faded into the background. The media highlighted the Yuppies and ” ” ” “Greed is Good ” Eighties. The hippies were born when Pluto was in Leo and love was being transformed. The people born in the 1960s had Pluto in Virgo, transforming work and health. The times were different and the public stage reflected the differences. Some people still hold onto those old values. I am just giving a simple brief description here, but you raised an important question. The times we are in now is are heralded as the second wave of the Sixties ( Pluto square Uranus) so we shall see what we create 🙂

      groovily yours,
      Linda litebeing

  8. I am not ashamed at admitting my ignorance of Astrology.. But I do see how their connections hold us within certain emotional energy lines.. For if we are all made of the stuff of stars! and connected via the Grid.. it follows as one or other come along our grid line especially connected to our time line of birth.. we feel their influence as it syncs into our energy body… ( I am sure you know what I am rambling on about LOL.. )
I too grew up in the 60’s leaving school in 69.. and in the 60’s I think there was a great spiritual revival which embraced peace and freedom…. People started seeing especially with the Vietnam War..
And loved your recollections.. I know many Songs from the Musical Hair.. but have never watch the whole thing through only excerpts 🙂 ,,, Wonderful reading.. I hope the Age of Aquarius brings in clarity.. I will have to have another look at my chart and see if its influencing me to bring more truths to the surface in my posts? 🙂
Loved your post and graphics you chose Linda.. 🙂

My friend Psychic Pharmacy Tech Shelley re blogged it and it helps bring into focus many of the experiences so many of us are having.

I took a peek at your chart and your moon is in Aries so it will be affected by Uranus> The timeline is shaky without your birth-time but I can promise you it will be obvious when your emotional body is supercharged and awakened 🙂

Check out the film or CD for Hair. The music is incredible. Glad you enjoyed the post. I love choosing the right pictures to set the mood.

  9. I enjoyed your musings, Linda. I have got to say I love the sign Aquarius and I have a theory regarding its rulership. Some people are too mainstream (consensus) to be ruled by Uranus and they are still ruled by Saturn. There are some pretty conventional Aquarians out there but once Uranus gets activated in their charts they can grow to be revolutionaries. I am all for revolution and I think we really need it on this planet. As you remember, I am going to have some wacky Uranus transits this year – it is going to go over my Mars! We’ll see. I’ll let you know what it brings.

I know, not exactly the best book on astrology, but for a kid, I was intrigued. I can recall my mom, my big sister and I reading our signs out loud to each other. Thank you for helping me recall this memory of fun times with my family. 🙂
