Harvest Moon

Ready for the last SuperMoon? On Monday September 8th we have the Full Moon in Pisces conjunct Chiron. I am feeling lazy (very moon in Pisces) so this won’t be a lengthy, informative astrology post. I will refer you to some great ones at the end, I promise. My interest of late has been to go underground and heal and sit and reflect and dream and purge and release and not use my intellect quite so much.  I have been Chironed so I am stepping up the self-care. Just got the new issue of TMA in the mail with an interview by Robert Hand, oh my! You gotta get this magazine, I am telling you. I may write for them someday, but irregardless, this is the gold standard.

It isn’t officially autumn yet, but we are getting there.  I chose Autumn by Monet because it has such a Piscean feel and a Virgoan touch. What a wonderful representation of the imminent energies !

Amidst all the collective and individual loss and angst, there is magic ever-present and opportunities for alchemy beckon. In fact, I am currently embarking on an adventure that may lead me to use my talents and gifts in a way that was decades in the making. This venture I have been preparing for since my teens. It would not be an exaggeration to say that virtually everything I have lived through has prepared me for this chance to serve with passion and purpose. This possibility is HUGE and quite unexpected, as many of them are. I am mentioning this so you, my readers can keep me in your thoughts and prayers. The Quakers will say To hold in the light. I am asking for help in this fashion, which is quite appropriate for this coming lunation.

When I decided to post about this time period, Neil Young immediately came into my consciousness. I am introducing 2 songs for your listening pleasure, bookends for the duality, mutability on which we will embarking shortly.

First is Harvest Moon, so romantic and soulful. It was featured in the film Eat Pray Love, which was among the best scenes in this underwhelming film. Read the book, meet the author, travel to either Italy, India, or Indonesia ( or all 3).  I did and so can you.  India and Bali are still on my list, but Italy, yeah was that a trip of  a lifetime. Trust me, Liz Gilbert is a breath of fresh air and I was enchanted with the idea of her book before it was even popular. And then I read   it. Much later I met her at a book tour in Bryn Mawr, PA and I got to ask her a question. Don’t recall what I asked, but it had to do with spirituality. I am so digressing, and typically I wouldn’t permit it – but Venus is in Virgo and my retrograde Mercury is in the 9th house and my moon is in Gemini and I adore rambling so today I allow it!

Here is the link for Harvest Moon, so precious..

harvest 1

Next there is simply, Harvest, the title song from Neil’s 1972 album Harvest. Neil clearly likes this theme. Boy did I give this record a workout my senior year of high school. And no, I was not a senior in 1972, I am younger than that. For some reason I got hooked that year on this battle- scarred, melancholy, world-weary, uber – melodic collection of classics. This piece is the opposite of romantic ; rather dramatic, sad, painful, and alienating.

While also brilliant and beautiful.

harvest 2

Which do you prefer?

  3. Your New Venture in the making is sounding just what you have prepared for.. I send you lots of ‘Light’ Linda in its manifestation to fruition.. Some times this is the whole reason of our pathway takes the forks in the road.. Often we can not fathom the why’s and wherefores, but its only in hindsight we see how we were guided, moulded and nudged into alignment of our greater purpose..
I wish you well in all that you are about to experience..
Much love dear Linda… I am already feeling excitement for you 🙂
xxx Love Sue .. PS.. love your new look too 🙂

    1. Dear Sue,
I am go grateful for you friendship and kindness. The reason I am being vague about this venture is that it is not a reality at this point. I tend to agree with your conclusion that often the various twists and turns are part of the biggest picture that we cannot see. I do see this being a project that could be part of my soul contract, but I have been mistaken before. Please keep me in the light and I will do the same for you.

Glad you like the new incarnation of my format 🙂

      love and hugs,
      Linda

      1. I did hesitate to say that, but again did not want to have to explain to my readers if in fact something is off with my “radar”. Thank you, really thank you, for calling me on this because it is very easy for me to find a justification for situations that do not work out as planned.

        love you Sue 🙂

    1. Hey Shelley,
I forgot to reply to you, sorry! It is so great to see you here. Your presence is essential to me for some reason that is mysterious. Guess you have become a part of the family 🙂
I had my first interview and am hoping to be asked back for the second meeting. I am very excited and really hope it works out. I guess everything always does, but I want what my ego wants, lol!

      love to you,
      Linda

PS, I am digging new Taylor Swift song, she is the soundtrack of the 2010s 🙂

  5. Happy Full Moon Love!

Oooo – looking forward to hearing more about the new adventure that is decades in the making… You sure know how to intrigue, Linda 😉 Always appreciate a good intrigue and a good (self-proclaimed) ramble actually! and some good (vital) self-care….

I too adore Harvest Moon, the whole album really…I remember blasting it while I slow-danced/glided on gorgeous wood floors in a long t-shirt and a pair of mismatched socks….Alas, ended up surrendering my entire vinyl collection to a former love, but it wouldn’t fit in my backpack anyway 🙂

Here’s to holding you in the Light, tonight and always,
    Amanda

PS. Didn’t you do something with TMA? I distinctly remember a blog post of yours about this….

    1. Hey Mandala Mandy,
Love the pictures your words weave, I can see you dancing with mismatched socks. Maybe you have some Aquarius energy too. I glad you appreciate the intrigue. Right now it is a potentially so I am not counting all my chickens. I did write a review for TMA and they said they loved it but I have not written in their publication. I really can see it now, much closer than ever before. Thanks for the encouragement and live.

      love and grace,

  6. So happy to hear of your new opportunity brewing Linda! Love Neil Young and especially Harvest Moon, the song and the big orange moonrise/set display.

Last week was one of the strangest weeks I’ve had in awhile. Good thing I did not have too many plans because nothing planned happened, while many things unplanned did. Crazy!

Sending much love and blessings your way in your potential new adventures.

      1. HI Linda,

Last week was one of those weeks where each day became more crazy. Lots of computer and IT issues at work, Wi-Fi down for four hours.

On Thursday, I had acidentally double-booked myself, or so I thought. 6 weeks prior, I made a hair cut appointment without knowing that the online Alchemy class was supposed to start on that same day. I realized this last Tuesday and called the salon to cancel and reschedule. The receptionist cancelled the Thursday appointment and did not reschedule me because I couldn’t get an appointment with my hairdresser until the end of October.

Fastforward to Thursday. I had not received the typical email registration notice from the online class host as was the custom every session last winter. I was getting a bit nervous about it. When I arrived home from work, still no log in info for the class. After sending several emails during the day I figured the class must be cancelled. So, I called the hair salon at 4:50 to see if I could still get in. The receptionist said no, that time slot was filled. I figured, that makes sense and went back to the computer to see if anyone else that I knew had responded with info about the class. Nope, but there were others who were also expecting the class to happen that night.

At 5:26, I noticed I had received a voicemail. I listen to it and it’s my hairdresser calling me to see if I was STUCK IN TRAFFIC! Okay, I tried to call her back on her cell and got her voicemail and told her what the receptionist told me, but that I stillI could come down right now.

I call the receptionist back and she told me the appointment IS TAKEN! Geesh, I said to her, I just received a voicemail from Angela (my hairdresser), and she was WONDERING WHERE I WAS. Sorry for the caps Linda, but this could have been a comedy routine, but, at this point I was not amused.

I told the receptionist to please put Angela on the line, but she said Angela was busy and pretty much hung up on me.

Angela called me back about a half-hour later and I told here the story. She was pretty upset with the staff, but I reassured her I was not upset with her.

The next day I received an email from the online class apologizing for the confusion. It seems that they had rescheduled the class for January but not everyone received the email. They were nice about it, and offered a discount on future purchases.

Today continued to be somewhat whacky at work. I am aware of the big old moon, but this almost seems Mercurial in nature. I’d love to know your thoughts…if you’ve made it this far. 🙂

      2. I can relate. Mercury and Neptune are not getting along right now, they are inconjunct, like 2 ships passing in the night, getting closer but not making contact. These 2 planets can wreak havoc with communication and perception and create lots of chaos and misinformation, deception. It will pass. In your chart, Neptune is currently opposing your Mercury adding more to the mix. Could make you more attuned psychically though 😉

      3. Thanks Linda,
That makes much sense. I do feel a lot more psychic, or intuitive awareness that often has been proving spot on.

        One example:
I sensed a couple of weeks ago that the class was either going to be canceled, or something.

Lots of other small things. 🙂

  7. Dear Linda,Happy Harvest Moon. May the next turn of the Wheel bring us love and compassion, abundance and prosperity, fertility and life. enjoying the evening with lit candles and red wine of courseAstrologically – I am de-cluttering my physical space after almost a year of de-cluttering evil spirit. Truly symbolic for this time year the Full Moon in Pisces really shines on dreams and to cleanse our emotional realms. Neil Young “Harvest Moon” is one my all times favorite song, thanks for sharing it. p.s. I couldn’t directly post this to your website for some reason?

      Happy Harvest Moon,
Hitting your 1st and 7th too? It is so wonderful to hear from you, will never forget how you found me 🙂 Neil Young is a gem. He creates with such raw emotion. Harvest Moon is hauntingly beautiful. Don’t know why Word Press gave you trouble but it is laden with quirks. Glad you persevered.
