Musings ~ The World is Conspiring in Your Favor

UPDATE: As often happens in my world, synchronicity abounds. I just discovered today ( 11-2-14) that my local meetup group is having its monthly Saturday Discussion on Ascension. The leader said they have never covered this topic before and is bringing in a special speaker. If you are local and want to know the details, please email me. I hope to attend and gather more information and engage in some meaningful discussions. I am so grateful that my life is so graced with synchronicity, especially when the big questions come to me without any easy answers!

As a recovering paranoid pessimist, I work very hard to “re-frame” my thoughts and my expectations. This is much easier to for me to do with others in my role as a therapist than for myself. I was raised with the motto ” Never Trust Anybody!” and I began to internalize it early on, feeling like the world is not safe. Who says this stuff to their kids??

Anyway, one of my inner mottos is under reconstruction. I have pretty much eradicated ” Life’s unfair and then you die.” and am in the process of replacing it with ” The world is conspiring in your favor.” I also read online about the Pronoid type as opposed to the Paranoid type. Very cool!  Or maybe Cynthia Sue’s How good can it get? It inspires wonder and excitement. So in case any of you wondered why I downgraded myself from a lightbeing to litebeing,  you now have a clearer picture.

I have plenty of work to do and I have been at this for a long time. But I keep on keeping on. This brings me to the topic of ascension. First there was the New Age, then the Harmonic Convergence, then some other Harmonic thingy, and then the Mayan Apocalypse. Now we are supposedly begin reconfigured as a people and receiving regular upgrades.

I do not understand any of this really. I am being totally honest. I am fine with self-actualization and peak experiences ( I am a Maslow geek), periods of enlightenment and mystical openings. Many individuals and their select circles or tribes are waking up, but it seems more like the particular choice of one’s soul path rather than a mass movement. I have read about starseeds and indigos and the earth changes for decades. The earth changes are here. They were at one time predicted for the mid 1980s, but they eventually arrived. But are we really all being reprogrammed and to what end? Someone recently told me that throughout all of human history, people believed they were on the brink of something and/or the world is coming to an end. I was a channel groupie for a while as a youngin’ and relished with delight at the thought that we were chosen for a brand new world.

But are we, really?

Perhaps this idea is gaining traction because the planetary atrocities are so difficult to accept that we create ideas to provide us with some form of sanctuary. On top of this we have universally accessible technology which allows the masses to communicate and share ideas.

One of the questions I would regularly pose to astrological metaphysicians at astrology lectures is why are we as a society so technologically sophisticated and spiritually so stagnant. Will consciousness ever catch up? What accounts for such a monumental disconnect between the two?

I don’t think I ever received a response that satisfied me.

So I am opening this up for discussion and debate. I am hoping folks will offer original answers, not information that they have heard second or third hand. That may be asking a lot, but here at litebeing chronicles, we don’t play when the future of our planet is at stake.

I am providing a link here to an article on Ascension that I really liked because it is clear, thoughtful in nature, and quite reasonable. If you are led, please visit it here:

http://www.ascensionsymptoms.com/why-ascension-symptoms.html

I am not asserting that ascension is not happening or that consciousness cannot evolve. I am just raising the question for discourse. Is this a real phenomenon or merely wishful thinking?

  1. I don’t know about this ascension business. But I think examining beliefs is a good step.
Examining ALL beliefs. First and foremost the one of Who Am I.
    Or rather What Is I?
That is the most direct route.

    1. Hi Karin,
When I use the term ascension, it means the evolution of consciousness while in a body and living on Earth. It does not imply rising out of the body into a new dimension. More like entering the new dimension while still here. I agree that examining all beliefs is very important. This concept of ascension dovetails with the shift you allude to in your comments on Michael’s blog, from separation to Unity. I have not read ACOL, but the illusory separation in ACIM is 3D consciousness and awakening from the ACIM dream is entering 5D. Or at least that is what I have surmised.

      1. Ok, thanks for clarifying that.
Well, then ascension is about losing the illusion of the separate self. Losing the belief in being a person.

When I read all the posts about ascension, I wonder whether people know where they are heading, though. It seems as if they think that the belief in being a person could be kept, just that the person has some higher vibrations or whatever.

  2. Reblogged this on litebeing chronicles and commented:

    Hello fellow litebeings,
I used my random blog oracle just now and arrived here. This particular post really encapsulates many of the concepts and attitudes that I am currently examining. I invite you all to read again and join in the discussion. Namaste

  3. wonderful post linda, and i am sorry for being a little late to the party. surprise, surprise – i’ve been having many of these same thoughts lately. particularly whether humans in every period of history think they’re on the verge of a huge transformation, a new world.

lately i have been questioning all my beliefs about…everything. particularly my spiritual beliefs. i’ve read so many articles and channellings and while they provided a lot of comfort, inspiration, and excitement, i’m also seeing that i’ve bought into a bunch of beliefs, none of which i actually know is true! i’m accepting that i really know nothing about anything! i make a lot of things ‘mean’ something when really i’m just imposing existing stories and interpretations onto them.

it is kind of an unsettling time as i re-jig all of this. but i think it’s pointing to the way of human beings as powerful creators. instead of being dictated by beliefs, channels, new age prophecies etc, it’s about what i create in each moment. and as you know, a lot of that has been about love – for self, for my relationships, for humanity. and that seems to be opening up new portals.

it’s also about taking action. i’ve had this idea if something’s ‘meant to be’, it’ll happen effortlessly. but that hasn’t really worked for me. so i’m choosing to take uncomfortable actions. that’s where transformation happens.

    thank you! ❤ aleya

    1. I really relished your comment here Aleya and just re-read it upon from my return from a lecture on Ascension at my local meetup. I do not want to believe anything. I will sometimes use the word out of habit , nothing more. Experience is everything to me, and intellectual knowledge supports experience for me, not the other way around as was once the case. The speaker spoke briefly of kundalini and compared it to an orgasm. Either you had an orgasm or you didn’t, you either know it or you don’t. One does not believe in the idea of orgasms! After he said that, I realize that I don’t know if I recently experienced kundalini, since I feel uncertain. Perhaps there was a time when all this extraneous hype was nonexistent and the being was what mattered.

In the end, it all boils down to an orgasm 😉

    2. Loveeeee this comment and i am so right there with you. i think it is a natural part of the spiritual path, to exhaust oneself with the search for “answers” when, quite possibly, mystery is the only reliable one. Have you read Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse? Hesse makes amazing points (from a German Protestant Christian perspective) about the path of the Buddha and how ultimately his realizations came when he abandoned all ideas and notions about everything altogether. But I am with you and empathize in the natural human tendency to search for meaning and find such great solace in doing so.

So proud of you for taking uncomfortable actions! Often they are TOTALLY the best kind!!

Love you, thanks so much for your candor here. xoxo chickpea, and xoxo to dear Linda for letting me jump in!! 🙂

  4. We are Human at the end of the day… And all though I am sure we came here with good intent to follow a spiritual pathway to our ‘Enlightenment’ We are living within a Material world which we chose to experience.. So we get distracted and the technology today is being designed to distract our attention.. As the addictive ‘Games’ go to prove..
Now on our TV screens is the ever more present ‘Game shows’ as our minds are being tuned off ‘Thinking’ and programmed in a way that keeps us transfixed to that little box or to phones etc..

Our reality is becoming entwine within the virtual reality of make-believe.. Yet then one has to ask what then becomes reality as we home into these violent games of war or get caught in the gambling on line that hooks more addictive behaviours into the net.

I have always thought we reap what we sow Linda.. And this world is a mirror of our thoughts.. Learning to detach and focus upon the Intent of not what we see… But what we wish to see is creating our reality… The problem with our society is that we FEAR greatly that which we cannot see.

When we learn it is our very fearfulness, insecurities and thoughts which are projected out which is in fact creating our reality from the point of now into our tomorrow.. And you look around the world at what many are projecting.. You see how the Apocalypse is created and how the media and film industries use it as a tool..

I would like now to ask you now a Question Linda.. If we didn’t have all of this techno stuff… And we just existed in our own little bubbles.. enjoying what we had within our own bubbles.. How much more enlightened we may seem?..

One only has to go see how the primitive indigenous tribes who have nothing but mud huts who hunt and live their lives with very little.. How Happy they smile, How the children are happy and laugh.. We have lost much to our so called Modern day world…. Despite all of the wizardry of this technological age.. It still can not reach inside us and turn that switch to make us Happier..

Great thoughts my good friend… And keep thinking of it conspiring in your favour and you will emerge the winner 🙂

    1. Thanks Sue for turning the cosmic tables on me with your own question 🙂 I was raised with the TV and/or music on practically all the time except mealtime. Plus the phone was constantly ringing ( before the age of cellphones) I am not certain how well I would have fared. Reading and culture were also encouraged so perhaps I would have read even more than I did. I mention my upbringing because these early influences become habits and often addictions that are hard to break. In the time and space and culture I was born into, life would have been brutal without the distractions. In a well functioning tribal society, I would have thrived. You raised so many fine points here. Could you post on this topic on your blog? I want to hear more from you.

      1. Linda I think I must have exhausted this point many times.. But its time I gave a serious post as I browsed your blog and read Hariod’s fine response also.. Ascension as such is to me evolution.. Like Hariod said We are within ‘The Shift’ of Consciousness right now yet we are too wrapped up within it to see how we are changing.. I will try to encompass some of my thoughts to paper and well… we will see if I will publish them.. I have many posts that touch upon this subject .. 🙂 written in the past.. I may just regurgitate one LOL

Thank you for thinking my thoughts worthy! 🙂

      2. I look forward to reading this article of yours Sue, assuming you see fit and are willing to publish. It’s a subject that’s on so many people’s minds it would seem, and Linda hopefully has started the ball-of-discussion rolling in our little corner of the blogosphere! Come on Sue, drum out your thoughts and get our hips swaying to your insightful rhythms! H ❤

  5. This is a most interesting question Linda; and I thank you for opening discussion here on it. I certainly agree with you that part of the reason why many believe we are on the verge, or are currently undergoing, a paradigm shift in human consciousness, is that some sort of sanctuary is being sought from the great threats the world and humanity currently faces. You adroitly state that technology transmits any ideas gaining traction with incredible pace – the zeitgeist may form in days now, rather than many months or even years as it used to as recently as only a generation ago. Concurrent with certain attractive forms of any cultural zeitgeist – such as this ‘ascension’ idea – there is an almost instantaneous transmission of data on the dangers the world faces; so these also become more widely apparent and discussed, perhaps resulting in a feedback loop with putative counters such as the ascension theory, or maybe on the material side, certain revolutionary groupings.

I have always held the idea that human consciousness, in fact all forms of consciousness, are in an on-going process of evolution. This, after all, is the process by which the universe initially started to have any knowledge about itself. One could only speculate that there is a teleological imperative at work, and that some extrinsic finality comes about once the universe becomes fully aware of itself as its own creation; and yet the path of developing life so far appears to be following this trajectory does it not? If we were to accept that a key principle and necessary component of any such finality is the perfection of individual consciousness [for example, so as to act as the interconnecting modules of a unified and integrated whole] then it may well be that the progression of this development at some point takes on an exponential growth pattern.

Perhaps it is as well though Linda, to introduce a note of caution as to whether or not any zeitgeist truly does represent an incipient paradigm shift. We live in an age wherein almost everything is monetised, and that includes ideas too. The New Age movement – I live in Glastonbury! – is profoundly materialistic in my view. There are literally hundreds of nostrums being peddled which, whilst initially perhaps offering some degree of emotional solace – going back to your idea of sanctuary – before too long are seen to be empty theorems, re-workings of cod psychology, or worse still, corruptions of truly authentic ontological doctrines. One thinks, for example, of the rise in recent years of Neo-Advaitism as an exploited corruption of Classical Advaita, or the hollow self-help industry with its shallow understandings of Buddhist psychology.

Whether or not then, we are on some exponential growth curve in the development of human consciousness, it is as well to remain equanimous and grounded in response to the matter. Our personal awareness cannot of itself be rushed in its development, save for the earnest pursuit of certain mental culture practices; and to become swept along in the idea – the possibly incorrect idea – that the apotheosis of human development is within our personal grasp as a result of this supposed paradigm shift, could be pernicious and ultimately self-defeating. I do hope I have not prattled on too long just here Linda, and must apologise in advance if that is so. I greatly look forward to seeing how the discussion develops, and to noting if any consensus arises as a result.

    With much gratitude and respect.

    Hariod.

    1. Thank you Hariod for your major contribution to this discussion. There are layers upon layers upon layers of mitigating factors involved, including the amount of information not available to the general public, whether it be intentionally hidden or too sophisticated for mere humans to absorb and integrate.

  6. Your decision to ‘downgrade’ yourself? Well! My mind immediately went to numerology, and it turns out lightbeing is a 3, a nice number of course, but litebeing is an 11, the first master number. Did you really downgrade? 😉 Wonderful post, Linda. We are all learning all the time. I would love to share some thoughts, but your request for direct rather than through second or third parties will prohibit the exchange! Glad you’re reconstructing your inner mantras ❤

    1. Dear Renate,
I am so pleased you took the time to do a numerological analysis on both monikers. Since I have been seeing 11 sequences for a couple years now, that’s a perfect tie-in.
The reason that I joked about a downgrade and called myself a part-time mystic is because I have so much more to learn about my inner being and the outer world and other realms, etc. I became a bit cocky for a while there, and needed to gain some perspective. This is just the beginning, even with all I have gone through, still the beginning steps in the larger scheme of things.

Please go ahead and share away. I do not want to seem rigid, just prefer people speak from their hearts authentically, rather then quote other people, etc.

      Namaste ❤

  7. Good food for thought Linda. Firstly yea, to first part, making changes in our perception is great bringing us a little happiness daily. So, I try to watch my words and thoughts, doesn’t always go that way but…Keep on Swimming. . . Right?

Ascension? Who knows. I do believe in the out breath, in breath of creation, be it science and the explosion expansion, and then being sucked back into a black hole, contraction (please don’t hold me a science standard, lol) or be it actually a god source breathing out creation and then breathing it back in, again I don’t know. Oh and the third Harmonic was Concordance. lol

What I wonder then is what is consciousness? What is it? Where does it come from? Where does it go? Again I do not know, but I love pondering it, studying it, reading about it. . . Boy I sure love the ellipsis.

Now I do have my own Sindy’s Theory on technology and enlightenment. Just a theory, as I said, I don’t know, above several times. I theorize that the “consciousness” in each of us can do way more than we use. As our friend Cindy Larson would point out. I believe and I was going to write this in the Butterfly Affect Prompt, that say we had evolved more like the American Indians, or other indigenous tribal societies and worked with nature, delved more inside than outside ourselves. Perhaps we could all speak telepathically, teleport matter, as ourselves… so forth and so on. Instead we developed externally aka technology. Anyway that is sort of my theory.

Great post. Keep on Swimming sister, and so shall I. ❤

I really like your theory quoted above. It is easier for Westerners to look outward. But what about the rest of the planet? I would think perhaps India might lead the way. I also wonder about the origins of consciousness and created a post on that last year similar in style to this one. And I am probably not any closer to understanding it either. Perhaps the human brain is just too limited to grasp the true nature of these queries. Like when a small child will ask why the sky is blue???

      Namaste,
      Linda

      1. So true Linda. As a child I ask my Mom if I lifted a cloud would I see God? Perhaps our consciousness is not the brain at all by resides in our energetic heart. Who knows? However, as that ancient Greek carved at Delphi, Man know thyself,” could it be their 111? A sign for us to know what true super beings we really are existing in a carbon based vehicle?

Oh and…Why is the sky blue? 😉

  8. Smiles and hugs… I would assert that we are in a true period of awakening so to speak and yes the technology we have is contributing to conscious awareness on a global level. The expansion of consciousness and the Consciousness Community is expanding exponentially. I have been doing some of my own searching for answers and have posed similar questions in several of the Spiritual groups I am a member of. One of them on LinkedIn the Spiritual Writers Association provided some awesome feedback. You and I being on here at WordPress sharing our thoughts and perspectives is another example. Many of the readers that follow your pages as well as mine are a part of that growth. There are many and many more begin to open their eyes every day and seek spiritual enlightenment and connection with the source of all creation or what we would look at as becoming conscious. Just my thought yet I watched the community where I currently reside have the Consciousness Expo grow from a crowd of around a hundred to over five thousand participants in just over five years. I also had a lady from Ireland that attended a similar event where only fifty or so were expected and well over two hundred showed up. Most of the community awareness seems to be embraced by women although men are starting to catch up. Just my thoughts and observations… Keep being awesome and sharing the love and the info and keep changing the world my beautiful friend! You are awesome Linda and you know what… You already know that the world is changing we are evolving and becoming more conscious everyday! Namste with love!
