New Sagittarius Moon ~ Prepare to Communicate with Tolerance and Forgiveness

Happy New Moon litebeings! May I add Happy 12-11!

How did my very personal post become political and global? This is what I asked myself after I crafted the title.

 The symbology took me there.

wikipedia.org public domain US

Today the new moon highlights 19 degrees Sagittarius. This just happens to be the location of my natal Venus. Venus is about many things, love and resources in particular. This new moon is part of a t-square with Chiron at 17 Pisces and Jupiter at 22 Virgo opposing each other and squaring the sun and moon. The release point of this configuration is between 17 and 22 degrees Gemini. This just happens to be where my natal moon is situated.

Clearly this is an important event for me personally. I’ll share a little bit about how I have done Venus in Sagittarius:

Love of adventure and travel

Taking risks in romance

Spending money on leisure activities

Appreciation of the exotic and unfamiliar

Expensive and often lavish taste

Feeling at home on the road and in hotels

My focus has been more on resources than romance presently. My upbringing comes into play as I consider how I do money. It seems strange to me to be living on so little income, because I don’t see myself as poor. I have lived most of my life with more than enough to make ends meet. Or at least enough to get by. I grew up always wanting expensive stuff and aspiring to dine in fine restaurants and stay at luxurious resorts. This is because I was introduced to this lifestyle early on. But I had champagne taste without the champagne budget!  While looking back at my history, however, poverty is never that far away. And yet, optimism was also just around the corner.

I grew up solid middle class, maybe even upper middle class for a while. But both of my parents grew up during the Great Depression and had little money. They were raised in households with little education and plenty of responsibility, like so many recent immigrants to this country. My parents’ synastry was based on a close Moon/Venus conjunction in Taurus. They both sought upper mobility and material security. My sister and I never knew what it was like to go without new clothes or a decent place to live. But worries about the future were always in the air. My father was the only one in his immediate family to get a college education and he was very ambitious. But even with the nice cars and fancy vacations, long lingered those disturbing memories of sacrifice and making do on very little. Some of those fears were transferred over to me. One cannot deny their history, otherwise they are doomed to repeat it

But there was also plenty of optimism about the future. My parents asked us to dream big and work towards our goals. They took us to foreign locales and exposed us to culture and diversity. They both loved history and this country. We visited many historical sites and made frequent trips to Washington DC. They discussed politics openly and encouraged us to be involved in the process by encouraging us to vote and participate in the national dialogue. They believed that we would see a brighter future. There was plenty of enthusiasm and exuberance both at the dinner table and out in the world. It was a strange mix of conservatism and naiveté. Another paradox that I strive to resolve.

Sagittarius is my family signature. We all have either a Sag MC or a Sag IC ( my mom). We were wanderers who enjoyed travel, foreign food, and gambling on the American Dream. But there was also plenty of conflict about religion and diversity. Diversity and identity are personal to me. I grew up in a Jewish/ Roman Catholic, Italian ( originally French immigrants to Italy), Eastern European ( German, Polish, Russian) family where many factions did not tolerate one another very well.   This theme goes back to my grandparents marrying outside their faith and ethnic heritage , and possibly even further back. Sagittarius can mean evolved sages or radical extremists or fervent fundamentalists. Often times it has to do with recognizing that some limitations ( Saturn) are actually for our own benefit. So much to chew on and integrate. When will we achieve the right balance as a society?

So fast forward to the present. Sagittarius is also about fanaticism, over-the-top ideology that can be equated with intolerance and self-righteousness. However, the flip side of Jupiter/Sag is a live and let live, anything goes philosophy. Bigotry and acceptance, side by side.

Here is a look at the Sabian symbol for this new moon :

Sabian Symbol for 20 degrees Sagittarius by Dane Rudhyar

20° MEN CUTTING THE ICE OF A FROZEN POND, FOR SUMMER USE.

Depth of operation necessary to prepare for next phase of life. Sacrifice of present to future. Throughness of action.

I wonder,  how does this apply to me? I rarely thought about the future in romance or finances and that is how I got here. Lots of lived experience with little to show for it ( materially). Sagittarius is all about experience. I live my life that way and this worldview is reflected in my astrological practice and in my writing. Yet it does not necessarily help with saving, investing, and maintaining a budget. But I had enough foresight to stick with my government job long enough to acquire a pension. So perhaps I was living the symbology to some degree.

You may wonder how I arrived at my title  Prepare ( 20 ° Sag) to Communicate ( Gemini) with Tolerance ( Jupiter) and Forgiveness ( Chiron) ? Basically I combined the key themes for Jupiter, Chiron, and Gemini with the Sabian symbol for this lunation. Tolerance is the antidote to too much excess (Jupiter). Jupiter squaring this Jupiter- ruled new moon implores that we become more moderate so that we can promote healing ( Chiron)  through forgiveness ( Pisces). This leads to self-love and ultimately, global peace. Communication with one’s higher nature is the way to begin. Forgive and tolerate any excesses or missteps. Chart a new course but first free oneself from old, dysfunctional, belief systems. Embrace your truth in a way that allows others to do the same, tolerating what you may not understand or agree with.

I really think this post was channeled , at least partially. My initial ideas for this article had very little to do with this prevailing theme. But I am going with the flow and allowing this material to be expressed in this manner. I hope that it resonates with some of my readers.

On some level, I have been wanting to contribute somehow to the global discussion of terrorism, inclusion, and finding a way to come together as one people. I just did not know how. By the way, presidential candidate Donald Trump has the moon at 21 Sagittarius and Sun at 22 Gemini. I have a strong belief that astrology presents us with public events and personalities to illustrate the mood of the times. Can you see how perfectly this is being played out on the public stage?

If we are all connected, then we all must own our part in the situations we find ourselves in. All this mutability ( Gem, Virgo, Sag, Pisces) encourages the ability to change, adapt, move through resistance.

I still have to explore further how this may operate in my life. I know all 4 angles of my chart are lit up in neon lights. Look for any planets and house cusps between 17 and 22 degrees of Gem, Virgo, Sag, and Pisces to see where you are being triggered to communicate with tolerance and forgiveness for the future.

I will end this very intense post with a song. I am not athletic, but I really took to archery at camp, before I was aware of my Venus placement ( Sagittarius the archer). The following song came to me as I was preparing for this draft to be written. Arc of a Diver and Archery, get it?

Do you see any of the themes discussed in the lyrics?

  1. Dear One — holding you in the Light of Love as you navigate your feelings about a totaled vehicle-hit-and-run. At least you were not in the vehicle when it got totaled! That would have been a whole ‘nother level.
As I read the description of your upbringing, I was asking myself: “Am I really a Sagittarius?” My chart says I’m a Taurus but everything except “feeling at home on the road and in hotels” fits me to a T! Always the champagne taste on the beer budget for me with heaping scoops of optimism that has allowed me to reinvent myself and my life path over and over and over and HERE I AM also.
Abundance is truly a state of being. Tomas and I are putting a whole apartment together — beds, furniture, kitchen stuff — the works — on a monthly income that is less than many people pay for rent these days. We’re using the local thrift stores and add a little with each SS benefit check. We feel rich and grateful that we are creating such a beautiful home space — once again — after disbanding our entire home front 3 years ago to take off on our Moroccan adventure.

Tolerance and forgiveness will get you a long way. Remember also gratitude and thanksgiving. We are moving through these last gates of clearing toward a monumental shift in consciousness and thus REALITY! Hold steady on the course, Sister — we got ourselves on the BIG RIDE this time. much love, Alia

    1. Hi Alia,
Thank you for your lovely caring words. I am not really much of a materialist, but maybe more than the typical spiritual being. I do not really know. I do know that life keeps giving me more opportunities to develop tolerance and forgiveness, along with acceptance of whatever is.

Maybe Sagittarius and/or Jupiter play a major role in your birth chart. Could be! Sag energies are very different from Taurus, where one is steady and likes routine and comfort.

Your new home sounds wonderful. I think your partnership with Tomas is what gives you the ability to create so much with little money. A loving bind is priceless!

I certainly hope I live long enough to enjoy this New Earth. It seems that the timeline keeps moving further and further in the future. Perhaps more room is being made within me to allow all the new love and peace in.

      Namaste, Linda

    “Its Energy in motion..
Your title is so apt.. for we do need to communicate.. with tolerance and forgiveness.. for it is only through altering our thoughts, we change what is wrong… And sometimes before that can happen, those old paradigms have to be ‘shifted’ so that new idea’s and ways of being can flourish..”

    1. Hi Sue,
I was just commenting back to Alia and saying something similar to your idea, that old paradigms need to be shifted so new energies have room to develop and prosper. Sometimes when I find myself within a crisis, I begin to see more and more situations with a negative lens. But I am taking steps to get centered and allow myself to be more positive and grateful.

      love to you, Linda

  3. Reblogged this on litebeing chronicles and commented:

    Hello Litebeings,
I want to reach out , to ask you to keep me in your prayers. Last night someone rammed their vehicle into mine, which was parked on my street. The driver and her companion fled the scene after practically totaling both vehicles. I am feeling victimized and very very angry. I was looking for something to reblog for you. This post was listed as a recommendation at the end of a different post I was considering. That post was not quite right, but this one is. It not only articulates what I need more of in my own attitudes and behavior, but it is a bit prophetic as well. Tolerance and forgiveness are not easily achieved, but are essential ingredients in the elixir of peace and unity for Gaia.

    much love, litebeing

  4. Well I am back. 🙂 and re read your wonderful post again..
Isn’t it amazing how influenced we are by our parents attitudes and belief systems.. So many now caught up around the world airing what they believe.. And yet is it really their views or has it been just passed down in their thinking? ..

I think half the trouble is people do not think.. at least not for themselves as they should.. Politics is a prime example for generations of families tend to vote as their fathers did and so on.
I had to grow up fast too, and like you they were in times of hardships, and tough times. Back when we grew up I think Life was less stressful or it appeared to be.. But again it all comes back to perceptions.. How we perceive our lot, and life

But I also remember even in my childhood the community pulling together. I was fortunate in living in a small village so perhaps my experience was different in a smaller community. Most Mothers stayed at home, and didn’t work, unlike today..

The family circle is now so fragmented, and our priorities have changed drastically as so many are now ruled with the plastic card.. buy now pay later.. Which is resulting is so many more hardships upon families as they now struggle to make ends meet.. So there is lots more Fear about, as it is a constant shadow for many..
So Fear creates more fear and the energies multiply and expand out and we feel them.

What is happening now in the world is also a knock on effect generated through fear, mistrust, belief systems, anger, prejudices and ingrained indoctrination of peoples misguided perceptions of reality.. Which we then with our fear create the said reality we fear the most..

    Its Energy in motion..
Your title is so apt.. for we do need to communicate.. with tolerance and forgiveness.. for it is only through altering our thoughts, we change what is wrong… And sometimes before that can happen, those old paradigms have to be ‘shifted’ so that new idea’s and ways of being can flourish..

Change is constantly being battled with, because we FEAR change ..One thing I know, many now are opening up to the possibilities of finding solutions and offering up prayers for Peace like never before..
We may not think we are contributing Linda, but we are one by one with our thoughts and prayers sent out to humanity to the collective for Peace and Harmony, through our compassion we are helping raise awareness.. through our LOVE we help raise consciousness ,,,

So you are helping.. we all are who spend half an hour a day in meditation for peace..

    Love and Blessings
    Sue

    1. Hi Sue,
Huge appreciation for such a thoughtful comment on the themes of my post. I am not one to follow the beliefs of my family, or I would not be the person I am today. But I agree that many people do not question anything, and stick with the tried and true. For myself, difficulties led me on a path of a career about helping others and advocating for those labeled powerless or marginalized. Some of the work I did was very uncomfortable for me, but taught me compassion and a greater understanding of those who lived differently than myself. You or I could have been born in a developing country without clean water or decent access to food, shelter, etc. If you have book 2 of Conversations with God, I implore you to reread it. I intuitively was led to reread it and there is much discussion about the our planet and how to heal it. Amazed that this book written over 20 years ago rings so true for 2015! I was shaken to my core to see the wisdom leaping from those pages Sue.

Anyway, I cannot give up on this planet or my lifetime here. We can prevail. love, Linda

      1. Lol.. Linda love the way both you and I think.. And I say that often to my family who at times moan and be-groan their lot in life..” about Living in a country without water or food”.. 🙂 And the Conversations with God Books I have every one and some I think I re-read several times.. At the moment I am re-reading another perhaps controversial book.. Which to be honest when I first read when first published I found hard to digest. But the added pieces to the Worldly jigsaw puzzle over the decades since it was channelled and published makes me understand so much more clearly the divisions and why Humans from various parts of our world react and have their various cultures and indoctrinated ways of being..
The book is called The Only Planet of Choice.. by Phyllis V. Schlemmer.. And you have to get beyond our own thinking that of our creation!… If you do ever read it.. Follow how the book tells you to read certain chapters first so that you get a better understanding of how it was channelled.. Which I think was my own mistake when first reading it many years ago..
Yes and it is all about our LOVE and how WE came to save this planet and ourselves.. xxx ❤

  5. Linda I will be back to comment in more depth later.. I need to re read again the whole of your post for it spoke to me about what is happening in our reality right now and is what I am trying to put into words within a post of my own which is in the draft stage..

It is amazing how connected some posts are within their themes as I spent today in my catch ups.. be back soon.. love to you.. Sue ❤

    1. Hi Sue,
I know this topic is close to your heart. As writers, we often get inspiration way beyond our individual physical form. I also notice repeating themes on WP and all over the internet. I seek out patterns and symbols, something we both practice regularly. Looking forward to hearing more…… xx Linda

  6. Thanks for another glimpse into your life, Linda.
While I cannot properly appreciate any of the astrological things you wrote about, I fully agree on your conclusions:
Forgive any excesses or missteps. Chart a new course after freeing oneself from old, dysfunctional belief systems.
    Hugs,
    Karin

    1. Hi Barbara, thank you for commenting on my ” channeled” article. I have had many opinions on this topic, but did not know how to express them. Then the new moon came and all the pieces very subtly came together.

      love to you.

PS I was led yesterday to reread the 2nd Conversation with God book and via a random page turn ( a way to use books as oracles) I happened upon a chapter about how to solve violence, income inequality, and other global problems. so much of what I read applies today, yet the book is over 20 years old..Love when that happens.
