Crossing Over the Psychic Highway

Around the 1st or 2nd of March, I am listening to the radio during my morning commute. Business as usual. I am only partially tuning in to the announcer’s comments. He is discussing the next clue for a contest. That gets my attention as I became a bit curious. He said ” Answer all five correctly for your chance to win free tickets to see John Edward in Philadelphia. ” John Edward, the medium? Now I was more than curious!

I did not expect to win any tickets, but wondered when John Edward was coming to town. March 11, it turns out, was the magic day. That is a little over a week away. I check out the website and tickets are still available. Wow, I may actually do this.  I have been interested in John Edward for many years, having watched  his Crossing Over TV shows and interviews. I would scan the TV audience and imagine being there, receiving a random reading. He is not bad to look at, and really down to earth. Not only that, he credits himself on the ethics of the metaphysical profession.

I was amazed that I was led to this point. It is now Friday, March 3rd and I am sending out feelers to family and friends. No one is able to go with me. I keep trying to figure out if I am supposed to go. The tickets are not cheap and I do not know if I want to go alone. I settle myself down and ask for specific guidance. If I get a sign I will order a ticket.

So I am watching television, keeping myself open. I am listening to Bill Maher, as I do most Fridays. He is doing his “New Rules” routine, which is where he introduces images to accompany his satire. The topic is finding Liberals who can battle as hard as the Conservatives. He discusses bringing back people who may misbehave but kick Progressive ass. He goes on to suggest a candidate who  was a huge proponent of government – backed healthcare in 2008. The person’s picture appears on-screen: John Edwards! He was a popular Democratic Senator who had some excellent ideas but was morally distasteful. He is clearly not John Edward the medium, but their names are almost identical and Senator Edwards is not someone often mentioned anymore in the media.

I got my sign!

I marveled at my fortune, albeit briefly. My intuition has been amping up recently, and the more I listen, the more data that I receive. Just Friday morning in fact, I got a message from my mother via dreamtime. In the dream I am awakened by a phone call without any ringtone. I hear my mother’s voice a few feet away coming out of the receiver. I pick up the phone and she tells me to be careful driving to work. I see a vision of a dark rainy road. I tell her not to worry because I am calling out today. A few minutes later I wake from the dream and it is time to get ready for work. I review my dream and take it as a warning to stay home. I call out sick and go back to sleep. Thank you mom!

I was beginning to feel very nervous yesterday morning. The fact that the trains were not running did not help. How could I meditate on my dead relatives and pets while obsessing on how to get downtown? I didn’t, that’s how. I became focused on tracking the transportation agency’s twitter account instead. Thankfully service was restored because it was frigid yesterday and I did not want to drive into town on the first day of the Flower Show. It is one of the biggest draws to the downtown area so the city will be totally congested with tourists.

The birds began to take flight in harmony as I drove off to the train station. This was not lost on me at all. I arrived early enough to get a quick lunch. The historic Reading Terminal Market was filled to the brim and I had only a few minutes to gobble something down. Let me tell you this entire process was very harried, from beginning to end.  All of a sudden I get this thought about a gyros sandwich. I find the stand and,  lo and behold, one sole stool is empty! I jumped on the stool and ordered quickly. I was surprised I was able to find a seat with no line in this congested conglomerate of chaos.

So I get to the theater and find my seat, The energy is negative, despite the obvious sage – smudging. I am clearly excited and nervous. Here I am living my dream, yet all alone.  The name Linda came up often. 5 people were chosen to ask questions and one of them was Linda. Early on he mentioned a L name in the reading. He said ” Lou or Louise, but not Linda. ” When he uttered not Linda, I knew I would not be called on.  And I was correct.

And yet, I felt tuned in with John as my name came up repeatedly during the two hours. Nowadays,  Linda is not a popular name. There was also a reference to my favorite uncle, long ago deceased. He specifically said in the midst of another reading ” Uncle Joe”. What was important that he said Uncle Joe, not just Joe. John Edward often referenced how what is said for one person may apply to many, and he weaved in readings all across the audience, from one party to another, It was fascinating to watch him work. At the end of the event, there was time for a few more questions. I did not have a questions so I didn’t raise my hand. But the woman next to me did and they called on her. So John was looking at me while she spoke. I knew it.

I highly recommend seeing him if you are interested in contacting a loved one. He is very wise and emphasized the power of energy work and implored everyone to become more educated about the workings of energy. John was impressive, offering information that was unexpected and quite specific. I enjoyed watching the audience member’s reactions and comments regarding how they grieved and who they loved. It was a very moving and humbling sight to behold.  He also flubbed a bit, showing he is human and fallible in this material world that we call Earth. He said teaching is his main mission now. I admire his dedication to helping others navigate the quantum world.

While I still desire to connect with the departed and get specific information from the other realms, it was not meant to be. I wonder why I was led so carefully to be at this event. I do not know. But what I am sure of is that signs and messages are everywhere and what you visualize you can realize.

    A fascinating and meandering musing, thoughts and impressions gleaned through glimpse and gape and close encounter in dreamtime. I love the energies at play weaving you seamlessly, safely in, out, within, through and in-between dreamtime and waking events. It sounds quite a trip. Exciting times. 🙂

    How much fun is the voyage of discovery when mind’s sails slip harbour and billow as your do? 🙂 I wonder with curiosity how the path ahead unfolds for you following your impromptu audience with John Edward. Perhaps there is indeed reason to this timely intervention in your life, a purpose connecting you to something more, other, or beyond? I wonder what thoughts you have on the Quantum world?

Gallbloggers has grown in the past week, 12 poems are now included in the mix created by the homeless people of my home city. I very much hope further submissions to the Blog will be forthcoming. We – Jason, the homeless gentleman I have befriended and I are slowly meeting and gaining trust of others. I am still very much an outsider, someone who is extended their acquaintance but not yet their trust. It will take time for friendship to grow further. Jason has yet to submit a piece for the Blog…I believe he’ll be putting his all into writing a poem torn from his heart. He’s that type of a man.

      Always a pleasure to see your thoughts online ( I was going to say on paper.) I was discussing this very topic yesterday ( what was the point of my John Edward experience?) One answer might be that I pictured myself in the audience for years while watching Crossing Over and perhaps it was because I was visualizing my future at that point. Another possibility is the simple acceptance of my psychic gifts , heeding the call, asking for a sign, and then receiving one that was undeniable confirmation. Another answer may be that I was being asked to follow my dreams and take part in what makes me happy.

      Of course there are other answers unknown at this time.

        How you enjoy mindful spirals and thoughtfully spiralling thoughts and following paths, avenues, alleyways, turn-offs, tangents, and side-streets as you voyage beyond the beyond on journeys of self-exploration and discovery. It fascinates me, and often I wonder where you get the energy from to engage so readily with so many ideas. I’d never have that stamina…it exhausts me just thinking about it 🙂

        Of the options you cite, I’d suggest that it is all three are highly plausible and likely 🙂 I get the impression however that the last is probably closer to the truth, and the psychic element affirmation to yourself of what you wanted most. The magic comes in the synchronicity of the moment, eg; when the name Edward appeared on the T.V. What also intrigues me is that your process of discovery is perpetual…one thing moves seamlessly into the next thing and there is no let-up or conclusion per se, just a transition of ever changing states and mutating ideas. Do you get to arrive at conclusions and destinations with your thoughts?

        I am much the same in that way, in that unconsciously my mind is active and always aware, and responds instinctually when objects and or people come my way. My mind unconsciously desires affirmation and confirmation of something and seeks to associate itself with these objects so as to convince or cajole me into taking action or following new lines of thoughtful enquiry. I always believe destiny relates to the process of discovery, and that objects find me for reasons I may not be consciously aware of at the time, but later come to determine as if led there by magic from the very start. That the objects appear in the first place is the real magic at the heart of the experience, and that is something tat can’t be explained as being mere chance or good fortune alone. I do arrive at conclusions and destinations and normally do so because I either lose interest in one course of enquiry or get taken over by something completely different yet inextricably interwoven. And thus begins the next spiral or spinning wheel.

        I think the best rationale would be to suggest that you are a highly creative and imaginative person, sensitive and passionate, as curious as a cat, and as tenacious as a dog holding onto a bone. Attributes that stand you in good stead for the life you have chosen and the career you are very good at.

        But of course, ‘there are other answers unknown at this time’ 🙂

  5. I have seen John Edwards on TV frequently and have two of his books too Linda.. How I love that you got your Signs and followed them too.. 🙂 so loved reading this.. And how He works as a medium is similar to how I would work in a congregations within the Spiritualist centres .
    I am loving how you are listening and tuning in more.. Brilliant to know..

      I thought I responded here, but apparently not. Now that I am back working full-time ( it was my 1 year anniversary on 5-23) I am not as meticulous with my replies. I think it is so awesome that you have that ability and that it is an incredible responsibility. He is truly wonderful and I see him as ethical ( to the ability that I am able to discern this). I am not clear why I was intended to be there, but I am glad I went and would enjoy a private reading with him and perhaps my mother to accompany me. She does believe in this, especially after a blogger friend did a medium reading for me.

      So happy to read your last post and eager for your next visit here.

  7. Clearly you do not need a John Edwards to contact your loved ones, Linda (very cool dream, and good for you for listening)! I believe you are going to be working much more in this area. Perhaps going to see him was just part of your continuing education? Was there something in particular you took away from his teaching?

    Meanwhile, I’m getting lots of signs from my deceased loved ones of late as well. If things go the way I think they will in the next few months, I will blog about it. Too involved a story for a comment, though. 🙂

      Thanks for your insights here and raising this question. While in the theater, I attempted to sense any passed over entities ( since the room was saged) and honestly, I felt nothing. I only felt strongly the energies of all the alive people and was uncomfortable. This is not my regular crowd. The energy feels better even at work with the MH consumers. This was very heavy. But I saw or heard or felt no one in other realms. I did take note in your reading where you mentioned I could have mediumship abilities. Maybe in another timeline or the future of this timeline. What remains active is psychic and/or telepathy. I was awake enough to “hear” not Linda, uncle Joe, and his many astrological references. Honestly, those seemed out of place, but perhaps he has studies astrology and I never heard him go into in on TV.

      What I took away is that I feel a strong familiarity with some of the well known metaphysicians, much more so than most of the audience. (But one woman asked a question about her pre-cognitive dreams and seeing dead people in her dreams. She asked about dreams versus visitations. Now that is close to my experience and I felt like she was “channeling” my musing.) i feel that they ( and all the WP tribe) are my people. I also took away that his message that facing death is crucial to living life and how we are all in unity ( his techniques illustrate this). My comment is getting real long so I iwll quit here, except to say that I am curious about what is happening in your wrold and hope you will blog on it ( or email me ) or both when you are ready.

I’m having some neat experiences like the one I blogged about yesterday. 🙂 I’ve also finished the final edits and printing of the first manuscript of the novel and have gotten involved with a tarot learning group on FB. Good stuff! 🙂 I am hoping for some more folks to do readings for here soon. Still looking for a house, but nothing yet. Learning patience on a whole new level! lol

  8. Awesome! I very much enjoyed reading this story. So many signs. And wonderful to see how everything falls into place if something is meant to be, like in your story with how you got the gyros sandwich.
    I am always in awe when I see this higher power at work that is able to orchestrate events with perfect timing.

    1. Clearly there was a gyros in my future, but not a reading! I choose to believe that all events are orchestrated out of various possibilities and that we choose which possibilities and our reactions, based on our thoughts, temperament, and vibration.

      I am not certain why I was meant to be at this event, but an idea emerged when talking with my spiritual counselor. I considered that while watching all those shows and imagining myself in the audience, that perhaps it was a foreshadowing of the future, since past present and future are relative and simultaneous.
