New Moon Orchids and Such

Happy New Cancer Moon to all,

While this lunation at 2 degrees Cancer sits clearly in my 5th house of romance and fun, I am feeling none of the above. My work life is being thrown into chaos as funding woes have drastically changed my job description. My health is better in general, but pain is a constant companion most days. I am now on clinical supervisor number three and I keep asking myself if I am a masochist for attempting to complete the LCSW process. I will let you know when I figure it out.

On the bright side, I still have a job for now and some interesting developments have recently surfaced. I have just begun teaching astrology on a formal basis.  I interviewed for an opportunity to participate in a pilot project on supporting people on Spiritual Emergence/Awakening. More new people are appearing in my life in terms of group constellations and I find that exciting.

However, my energy level remains low and my worry about work is currently interfering with my ability to blog new material. Hopefully this will pass soon, but in the meantime I want to post some amazing orchids and such I shot a few months back at Longwood Gardens.

While no one is going to confuse me with a professional photographer, I must admit that I have enjoyed taking photos very early on. I prefer shooting natural scenes to people because I relish the opportunity to capture moments of beauty. As a very visual person, photography comes naturally to me. Not the technical aspects, but the pleasure of focusing on what comes your way. It can be a form of mindfulness.

I continue to engage in gratitude practice as it helps me re-program inherent negativity into new energy. I am grateful to have a platform to call my own which affords me the ability to broadcast instantaneous musings and imagery all over our planet.

namaste to all

  1. Hugs to you Linda. I’m glad that health wise you are feeling better..but sorry to hear of the pain. For some reason..reading of what is going on with you, I feel that there is something awaiting you..it was just this funny thought that whatever is going on is to prepare you for something more. I do wish you the bestest and congrats on the new ventures too! I do like how you used the word constellation when describing people..hehe.

    1. Hi Shree, I certainly hope you are correct. My life lately has been dismal, depressing, and loaded with conflict. I am ready for a healthy change, especially around work. Thanks for the love and many hugs back. Or a constellation of hugs instead, lol!

    1. Hi Karin,
Glad you enjoyed the photos. Just got word today that I am now part of the SE team! Guess the interviews were not necessarily a rule out, meaning I got a group email welcoming us to the project. This totally applies to the recent surge of people rushing in and out of my life. Hope some folks will stay awhile, lol!

Thanks for the love. My GI tract says thank you 🙂

      hugs, Linda

  5. Hey Linda,

    How ya doing? 🙂

Never one to back down from a challenge, I have faith you’ll settle into the ever changing dimensions of your job role…variety being the spice of life I imagine for someone like you who enjoys the new and keeping it fresh and exciting. The LCSW process, though I’m not entirely sure what it is, it sounds like its weighing heavily on you shoulders as burden as such. Is it imperative to finish it or not? If not, let it go!

Very pleased to hear you’re teaching Astrology…no doubt you on fire with your delivery when speaking about your passion. Best wishes with that, I hope your ‘students’ (is that the right word?) will engage and prosper as a result.

Regards the photography…thank you for the beautiful images, they capture something of the charm and enchantment of Longwood. You’ve a good eye for a camera shot Linda, and colour seems particularly appealing. Do you have intention of pursuing photography as an interest/hobby more seriously? I wondered if you had considered acquiring a digital photo editing suite to assist and support your photography?

Lastly, I was going to ask how your recent week off work went? Did you read The Dice Man or give chance fair chance rolling the dice and following its whim? If no, then perhaps that is an opportunity just waiting to happen…time to lose control a little, sit in the first boxcar on the rollercoaster ride and just have a ball! Something to consider ahead of Mercury, Mars lining up opposite Pluto in T-square formation to adventurous Jupiter! Sounds like it could be quite a ride 🙂

Enjoy the weekend and two days freedom from the daily grind. Take care LL.

    Namaste 🙂

    1. Hey Dewin,
How are you? Thank you for the detailed and interesting commentary. LCSW is important to me at this time, unless I get a humongous book contract or win the lottery or some wealthy person gives me an enormous inheritance. All possible but not likely. It is a complicated topic do not wish to explore now, but I did blog on it already. Here is the link: https://litebeing.com/2015/11/03/right-place-wrong-time-2/

I had a so-so week off. Thanks for asking. The highlight was catching up by phone/Skype with long distance friends, having the kind of conversations that are rich and intense and meaningful. I did some traveling locally and visited some beloved spots but then I relapsed before the week was out.

I am quite satisfied being a very amateur photographer. I am not interested in learning techniques. But I am so glad you enjoyed what I provided on the blog. Do not understand Dice Man references, metaphorical?

As I sit here and appreciate the pleasant summer morning weather, I am grateful for the small things we often miss.

      Namaste, Linda

      1. Hey Linda,

        How are you doing?

In a previous comment to you I suggested you read for enjoyment and participate in the culture of the Dice. I referenced a book called The Dice Man by Luke Rheinhart. (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/70912.The_Dice_Man ) The references I make in this comment are to that.

‘The cult classic that can still change your life…Let the dice decide! This is the philosophy that changes the life of bored psychiatrist Luke Rhinehart – and in some ways changes the world as well. Because once you hand over your life to the dice, anything can happen. Entertaining, humorous, scary, shocking, subversive, The Dice Man is one of the cult bestsellers of our time.’ (Goodreads)

Indeed those small things that we miss…if only we could see them all! Would it be chaos to the mind or calm to the soul?

        Enjoy your afternoon and evening.

        Namaste 🙂
