Happy New Aquarius Moon and Happy Chinese New Year! I happen to like that the Chinese New Year takes place in the Western Astrology Sign of Aquarius because it is near my Ascendant. While I am not well versed in Chinese Astrology, I can attest that the reported compatibility between Rats with both Monkeys and Dragons is true for me. I often enjoy discussing the Chinese astrological descriptions with others often found on paper placemats in many Asian restaurants.

I happen to have been born in the year of the Metal Rat and this is the second time that combo has come up during my lifetime. Not surprising since I just had both my second Saturn Return and a Jupiter return quite recently. I am still processing what if anything has emerged in the wake of either transit. I know the rats are supposedly quick thinkers and prosperous. Maybe the prosperity will kick in this go-round?

So much constant energetic activity has left me tired and at times agitated and overwhelmed. I slept very late today and apparently needed more time ” off the grid. ” I remember having a lovely dream about an ex, an enduring but complex love that was all-consuming, yet often difficult to sustain. I woke up feeling bathed in love. It was very tangible, this feeling of love and comfort and I longed to return to the dream and for the love to remain. Both faded, but the reminder of love being available leaves me hopeful. I have begun to notice more and more that the little, subtle, experiences and signs we encounter can keep us centered in the face of seemingly cataclysmic outer circumstances. I am still figuring this all out, but sometimes just driving over a formerly pothole covered road that has been finally paved or having phone service restored on my home phone after about 6 months without it helps me understand that all problems are temporary and that solutions are contained within every difficulty.

I could not think of a rat song to conclude my post but have wanted to include Al Stewart, so please enjoy this classic, Year of the Cat:
