Another Fall in Philadelphia

Hello litebeings, with the Mars square Pluto transit this morning, I learned that a friend of mine is seriously ill. She is so young and strong and this news makes no sense to me. No sense at all.

I drove to the store today and it became apparent that fall has arrived in Philadelphia. Slowly but surely the leaves are turning and gliding through the clear blue sky. I long for normalcy in this anything but typical year of 2020. Here is a reblog of my post about Philly traditions and shifting cycles of time.

It is only fitting that I post about this Hall and Oates song on the first full day of fall, here in Philadelphia. This version with Diane Birch is from Live from Daryl’s House. I moved to this city to start the fall semester of my senior year at Temple University, so it is an anniversary theme of sorts. My trip to University City last week really reminded me of those first days of freedom and adventure in a new city and new state ( Though I did live in Reading , PA  as a child).

The first time I heard this song on the radio while living in Philly was very special to me because it was in early autumn. I told myself I would hear it every year on the radio as a way to usher in the season and mark my life in this amazing…

  3. So sorry Linda to hear your friend is ill. I hope she soon recovers. It was good to be reminded again of those Autumnal colours. This time of year teaches us to let go with grace as we see the leaves shedding from the trees.

  4. Sorry to hear of your friend, Linda. I have had a similar experience recently. There is no rhyme or reason (it seems) to the way illness strikes sometimes. What can we say? I hope the treasure that is at the bottom of all experience is realized ultimately, which is to say I’m a hopeful person who thinks at the heart of the moments we are given there is grace…

    Hope you are well, Linda! I haven’t forgotten about the challenge, but am thinking I have some time yet, right? I will re-read the post and pick a date soon.

      I am sorry about your friend. It can be unclear what to say in these instances. I pray for her and send her love. And Grace is always important component. Thank you for your support.

      I am fine with you rereading the post and picking a date. This challenge seems to be on the slow track, but these events take on a life of their own. I always enjoy your contributions and look forward to seeing your post in Divine time. So glad you enjoyed the pics. I added a few more fall pics to that post so it would reflect fall more completely.
