My Story

When I contemplated describing myself to potentially millions of people, (optimistic or delusional?) the image of a kaleidoscope came to me.

According to Wikipedia, A kaleidoscope is a cylinder with mirrors containing loose, colored objects such as beads or pebbles and bits of glass. As the viewer looks into one end, light entering the other creates a colorful pattern, due to the reflection off of the mirrors. Coined in 1817 by Scottish inventor Sir David Brewster,[1]“kaleidoscope” is derived from the Ancient Greekκαλός (kalos), “beautiful, beauty”,[2]εἶδος (eidos), “that which is seen: form, shape”[3] and σκοπέω (skopeō), “to look to, to examine”,[4] hence “observer of beautiful forms.” [5]

I really resonate with the final phrase : observer of beautiful forms, particularly since these forms are created by light. I would absolutely define myself as someone who is continually finding joy in the reflection of the light. This joy is manifested by an incredible array of forms: painting, photography, architecture, poetry, meditation, song, sculpture, nature. Light is energy and energy is how love is transmitted. A natural demonstration of your average litebeing!!

So the kaleidoscope serves as a powerful symbol of my current purpose and identity.   I also prefer to view my Self as an energetic being who can be linked with what I value and what brings me joy.

  4. I love your story and especially liked the animated kaleidoscope. I once wrote a poem about how I was a kaleidoscope, reflecting back the parts of myself that matched the person I was talking to, but that what they saw wasn’t all of me, just the parts like them. Donna Cunningham

    1. Hi Donna,
Thank you for visiting me and learning a bit about me and my vision 🙂
It took some time to decide how I wanted to describe myself ( Sun Neptune is tricky) but the kaleidoscope really provides a glimpse into my essence. I would love to read your poem and am such a fan of synchronicity at play…

      blessings,

  11. Just wanted to let you know I stopped by your blog and saw a hot air balloon. A hot air balloon and the feeling and magic of the fall season are my two secret symbols that let me know when I’m on track with my desires. I consider this to be a very positive sign 🙂

Just wanted to share that with you, my friend. I saw it on the homepage. I’m going back to see where I saw it exactly.

  19. Wonderful – I appreciate your question “How can I combine my values with joy?” I have just recently discovered that my essential energy is joyful and whenever I choose to express that energy consciously, there is a potential for me to experience joy. This is a revelation to me. I’ll be posting about it on Monday. I wish you a joy-filled life, completely and naturally aligned with your values. Blessings, Alia
