Finally!

Finally

Spring has come to my corner of Gaia,

After such a looooong sabbatical,

Blessing me with the manifestation of nature’s promise,

Glorious rapture of energy birthed into form

The wait was excruciating since last Spring,

When my cellphone photos were frozen in time,

Unwilling to allow me to share the blooms with you,

Until now a year later courtesy of Samsung and ATT

Just like magic, my health is re-bounding well,

After 2 months of physical hell

Rashes, viruses, and colon woes no more,

Freedom from bondage in this moment is pure

Do you see Beauty wherever you move?

Are your eyes opened or stuck in a sad groove?

Breathe gently with me and hear your heartbeat

Accept the sour and savor the sweet

My words don’t always rhyme

And life happens in its own time

Regardless of ego’s plans

Or outbursts and rants

You do what you can

And accept what you can’t

( until perhaps at some future timeline, you CAN)

I did not label this post as poetry, but I eked out some phrases in semi-rhythmic beats to convey my pleasure with seemingly forward movement. Winter 2019 was a spell of  “eternal stagnation, endless lifelessness and boundless misery “.

I spent just a few minutes outside today walking around my ‘hood snapping everything Springy in the midst of ferocious traffic and frenetic activity that seems odd for a Sunday afternoon. The weather was phenomenal and it felt great to bask in the beauty of this ephemeral season.

Grace is in the house!

Two Cool announcements:

Spring Awakening Part II ~ Embrace Nature’s Splendor

Happy Mercury Retro in Pisces, Pisces New Moon and Uranus entering Taurus (the sequel). This reblog is about spring and here we are on the cusp of spring almost 1 year later!
Reblogs are de riguer during retro cycles so here is one to tide you over until I produce some new posts! This is a huge week so take some deep breaths and enjoy the ride!

litebeing chronicles

Not everyone is made aware of the beginning of a new cycle or season. Although Uranus is my ruling planet, I do not always notice a personal shift when it enters a new sign. This time I did observe a small but important event that announced this major transit. When Uranus first entered Aries, I bought a new cellphone and it had a camera. I used it to take pictures for this blog ( see photo above). A few weeks ago this old phone started buzzing when I turned it on. Sometimes it did not turn on at all. So after seven years I replaced my trusty blue not-so smart phone ( see photo below).

With many reservations, I opted for a smart phone. While I do not want to be a slave to conformity, I relished the notion of a higher quality camera.  I still keep the phone off…

Hey 2019, Let’s Dive Right In!

I bought this lavender day planner not long ago. I typically get a smaller black one, but opted for this larger model in one of my favorite colors. Ironically, I have a planner and very few plans. But it symbolizes a blank slate, brimming with possibilities. Rather than contemplate or over-analyze, I prefer to dive right in.

While most of my readers know that I am not much of a structured holiday person, I often find value in some of the practices or activities, knowing they stem from a good place. If we want to pick an arbitrary point for the new year, tomorrow’s partial solar eclipse in Capricorn is an excellent choice.  A solar eclipse occurs on a new moon and eclipses are like lunations on steroids, so tomorrow 1-4-19 at 8:28 EST could behold a fresh start for many.

I would like to share some videos on my first post of the year that made quite an impression on me. They share some similarities. but have distinct points of view. But I will begin with some recent photos taken a few days ago at Longwood Gardens. It is noteworthy that I have yet to dedicate an entire essay to my time there, because it has often served as one of my power places. Even on more mundane visits, it is always breathtakingly beautiful and every moment is unique in its own right.

The first two videos are by thought leaders that need no introduction, Matt Kahn and Lee Harris. Matt is more badass and Lee is a bit more polite, but they both offer excellent, often prophetic content on the current metaphysical climate. This new Matt Kahn video is called We belong to the Light. Matt jokes that it is channeled from Pat Benatar. He does not reference which song, but I would say it is We Belong. It is one of my old school favorites. I googled the lyrics and the first line of the chorus is We belong to the light. Funny, I sang it as We belong to the night.

What I found especially significant in this teaching is Matt’s suggestion for how to handle “unusual events”. He advises against asking why something happens or looking for an accurate explanation. Instead, he instructs us to ask ourselves ” What do we need?” I really like this idea because it let’s us focus on how to take better care of ourselves instead of going off on some intellectual tangent. Matt is very much about self-care these days and finds many inventive strategies for flowing with life, rather than beating up ourselves or anyone/anything outside of ourselves ( as if there really is an outside?)

This next video is a real gem because it is a Live 1 hour segment. Unlike the monthly energy forecasts, this presentation goes into more detail and even features a Q&A section at the end! What I found most interesting here is Lee’s take on 2019 as the end of one 7 year cycle and the beginning of a new 7 year cycle. While 2019 in a 3 year in numerology, there are individual numerological cycles ( not to mention astrological cycles) all at play simultaneously. Lee delves into the 2012 phenomenon and how it led us to this point in time. I highly recommend you save this one and listen in small increments, as I often do with Matt’s videos. I often fall asleep if I watch for too much at one sitting!

This final selection is seemingly divergent from the two previous ones, but I would say only on the surface. Bandersnatch is the first movie version of Netflix’s highly popular, controversial Black Mirror series. One could say I am a reluctant fan of this very dark, mysterious Sci Fi series available on the Netflix streaming service. This piece is not only their first full feature film, but it is also interactive. You, the viewer get to make choices on how the story progresses. Without giving too much away, this interactive process lends itself to a story within a story framework that explores, fate vs destiny, parallel realities, and time travel. Why do I include it with the previous videos that do seem more light and optimistic? What all three have in common is that they are highly engaging and invite the viewer to get off the escalator and empower yourself.

I am more inclined to say that free will is not all that free at this juncture. And yet, I do think that making choices can lead to brighter outcomes. How we choose and why we choose is up to you! Check out all three if possible ( Netflix is not free so I included the trailer only) and let me know you reactions in the comments.

This image above is a smaller version of the header photo. I selected it as the header because it serves as a metaphor for 2019. It is fresh and new, multi-faceted, and interactive. It also brings the light and lets you decide where you end and where you begin. So either with or without plans or resolutions, take a deep breath and dive right in.

I wish you a very blessed 2019!

Just one more thing ~  Keep your eyes glued to this site as I will be posting a big surprise very soon!

Until then, wishing you a healthy and transformative eclipse.

A Glimpse of En-Deerment ~ A Jupiter in Sag Moment

Life has been very harsh lately. Thursday’s initial snow of  the season resulted in a traffic nightmare for many, leaving me stuck in my car for close to five hours. This experience left me shaken and depleted. Sometimes I feel that if I share too much about the depths of my emotions I will scare my readers away. Even during the darkest of moments, I remember to pray, ask for guidance, and love myself. Sometimes I receive a pleasant, unexpected blessing.

I woke up this morning and immediately noticed a large animal near the bird feeder. Initially I thought it was a dog, but it was actually a deer. Despite many attempts, today is the first time I have been able to shoot some deer pics, right in the comfort of my living room! Deer is one of my totems and I wrote extensively about deer medicine here.

On occasion, my spirit merges with my totem and we really connect. Deer typically flee as soon as they detect humans in their path, but this guy/gal waited a bit and met my gaze. We had a moment. This moment gave me hope that something larger, grander than myself is waiting for me…..

Here are a few excerpts on Deer magick:

Deer has entered your life to help you walk the path of love with full consciousness and awareness, to know that love sometimes requires caring and protection, not only in how we love others, but also in how we love ourselves.

A deer’s senses are very acute and they see extremely well in low light, giving them the ability to understand the deeper symbolic meanings of things. They can hear a twig snap a very long way off. People with this power animal are often described as being swift and alert. They are intuitive, often seeming to possess well-developed, even extrasensory perceptions. Sometimes their thoughts seem to race ahead, and they appear not to be listening, to be somewhere else. Anyone with power animal has latent clairvoyant and clairaudient abilities.

When a Deer totem enters your world, a new innocence and freshness in about to be awakened. New adventures are just around the corner and there will be an opportunity to express the gentle love that will open new doors for you.

The last paragraph speaks of innocence, freshness, new adventures, and the opening of doors. This is the essence of Jupiter in its home sign of Sagittarius. While I typically prefer all things Scorpio, this last round of Jup in Scorp was stymied by Pluto’s current transit in Capricorn. Jupiter can be more playful and light in whimsical, kindhearted Sag.

May your Mercury Retrograde be kind and your journey be abundant with the promise of love, adventure, and gentility.

Another Synch Hits the Spot

This morning I received a cool synch about divine mission/purpose and it truly surprised me. Not the part about receiving synchronicities, but that it was on this topic. After I wrote my piece for my blogging challenge and hit publish, my mind and heart attended to other matters. So while “lightly” viewing CBS Sunday Morning, my heart melted a bit while learning about Jackie Speier’s time at Jonestown 40 years ago. Please watch this riveting account of tragedy and renewal here.

I am using this space to also share some pictures of fall foliage in my neighborhood. While more than fashionably late to the party, the seasonal colors are gloriously dazzling.

While you’re in the mood, take a peek at Dayna’s awesome entry here.

Gratitude at Solstice

Happy Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and Happy Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere! I am grateful to have readers all over the globe who grace me with their presence. One of many things I am grateful for.

I plan to use today to impart a radical gratitude practice. I do this now, rather than stew in all my problems or disappointments. In his new book, Everything is Here to Help You, Matt Kahn espouses that every circumstance will help us bring about more love for ourselves and each other. I much rather conclude that Source is conspiring for me, rather than against me.

I can feel the increase of light and warmth and am drinking it in. I live in such a beautiful neighborhood and am so lucky to be surrounded by trees and creatures of all kinds. As dusk approaches, my thoughts begin to settle down and my muscles begin to relax. I smell the sweet scent of lavender tealights and contemplate the day.

So here is a list in no particular order of what I am grateful for now:

The softening sky

Faint bird songs

Imminent fireflies aka lightning bugs

My hot pink kaleidoscope covered Samsung smart phone that allows me to take great pics and send them places ( and doubles as a flashlight.)

A virtual job interview tomorrow ( via Zoom) that excites me about what lies ahead.

Hydrangeas springing up outside my window, the inspiration for beautiful heartfelt emotions and scorpionic transformation and a symbol of this blog.

My new commitment to increasing sun exposure by taking daily morning walks. These walks help me get back in touch with nature and serves as a moving meditation bearing gifts:

Gentle inhalations and exhalations carry me from now to now, and back.

Great friends who love me for me, and write amazing books.

You can find Cindy’s first published book here.

Watching free Dead and Company live stream via Facebook, courtesy of Nugs TV. My teenage Deadhead self would never have imagined watching Bob Weir in real-time using a laptop on her couch.  no words….

Beauty is everywhere, just waiting to be absorbed and appreciated.

Meditating to Soleggio frequencies that are reminiscent of sound therapy baths, helping me leave my brain and raise my vibes.

The ability to take precious spaciousness, convert it to text, and share it with you.

Namaste and Solstice Blessings, Linda

May the light shine beyond your wildest dreams and may the darkness spin you into a transformed being of love.

Neptune Retrograde ~ End of the Line

This has not been an easy time, but when has it ever been easy? While  transiting Jupiter retrograded back on my natal Sun over the past few days, I spent most of the time physically ill and/or exhausted. Astrology is complicated and sometimes transits do not show up in a standard way. The late Donna Cunningham wrote about this topic and postulated that often astrological transits trigger internal events, even when it looks like they ought to be external.

I am not certain, but what I do know is how grateful I feel when the pain subsides or when I am able to just let go and be with the pain. How can we know sweet without bitter, light without dark? In the material world, duality is here to teach us the range of creation. Lately, I have noticed that more nudges have appeared, bringing into focus the complexity of emotion and the far-reaching impact of empathy.

Neptune just stationed retrograde this evening at 16 degrees Pisces and will remain retrograde until November 24th. Of course it just started raining as I type this post.  It is part of a grand water trine including Mercury and Jupiter. It also creates a grand water trine with my Mars in Cancer and Scorpio stellium. It exactly trines my Mercury and is transiting my first house. It has been there for many years and will remain there for many many more. For me, it emphasizes an internal re-calibration that is scary and exciting simultaneously. I would imagine many of my readers can relate, as so many of us are experiencing cosmic upgrades.

Neptune in Pisces has many interpretations and her impact will vary on your chart and your sensitivity to her energies. The God Neptune was male but I perceive the energies as feminine, hence the female pronouns! Some of the themes to be revisited during this cycle include: forgiveness, letting go, compassion, empathy, surrender, heart expansion, and boundless ecstasy. If you are typically Neptunian anyway, this cycle is just another day at the office! If not, you can use this time to hone your communication with your Higher Self and learn to block out the static on social media and the world at large.

It is also a great time to get into photography, so I am sharing some recent pics from Longwood Gardens. Before I go , I want to say thanks to those who have been there for me as I deal with the loss of my former patient and my hero Anthony Bourdain. My guess is these two souls had plenty in common, which makes their passing even more tragic. Thank you to Connie who has been there for me consistently over the years. She knows how to listen and hears what isn’t being said. Thank you

Many synchronicities have led me to consider that grief work may be part of my calling. I am happy to share that I have advanced in the hiring process for the position at the non-profit organization that offers grief support programming. I am hopeful that all will occur for the highest good. Thanks to all who continue to hold space for me and shine light, especially when I shut down and retreat.

Before the power goes out ( again), let me conclude with a special video. At my former job I would play videos for my guys at the beginning of Friday’s group therapy that were related to addiction or recovery. One of the first videos I played was End of the Line to celebrate Tom Petty and to illustrate letting go of judgements and expectations. This song has always been a favorite of mine and while some of the undertones are dark, the tempo is upbeat and conveys hope. Besides, there is something about me and trains that is yet to be fully explored.  I hope you enjoy it! I dedicate this post to my guys and to everyone that struggles with addiction:

Shifting Waters Carry Fresh Energy

Hello to new and old readers alike and welcome! I hope to hear from some of the new followers! Please say hi and let me know what’s happening with you.

I am grateful to have you on-board.

I recently made a few changes to the blog’s look and theme.  I changed the tagline to ” Moving at the Speed of Lite”. It many sound familiar, because it is also the title of a post from a while back. Every so often the tagline feels stale so a few days ago I  unceremoniously came up with a one-liner that works.

I know my spirit is moving at least as fast as light, which we call “lite” here at the Chronicles. Some of this movement may be the raising of my frequency and some of it is definitely feeling overwhelmed by all that I encounter internally and externally. Many would agree with me that our planet is speeding up with massive over-stimulation and chaos. I prefer to highlight the joy, but ignoring the shadow is not doing the planet any favors. Many folks say that the light and dark are showing up now more than ever.  So for now this new tagline will help describe my mission, to convey my journey while navigating this new accelerated speed.

I have also played around a little with the color scheme , hoping to spruce things up a bit. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section. I am always interested in getting some feedback.

The photos in this blog were taken at Longwood Gardens with my new smart phone. While I am still figuring out how to operate this device, I must say I like the higher quality images and the ability to take loads of pics without having to delete some for  lack of memory. I chose images with water to highlight the sacral chakra. I learned today at an energy workshop that all of the chakras have an element assigned to them. The sacral chakra is associated with water and is emotionally – based. On Thursday my massage therapist said that this chakra needed balancing. It is also connected with the large intestine and can be one of the chakras effecting digestion. In any case, I am working on digesting whatever I encounter and not staying stuck there. These images encourage flow, movement, and harmony so I am setting an intention to get back on track and let life flow through me.

I still plan to write about how I spent my winter so that I can properly catch up with all of you. I find the process to be therapeutic at times, and writing about my experiences helps me integrate them and release them sooner rather than later. Being unemployed again has not been easy for me. I dread it when someone or something I love is removed from my life. I loved working with my guys at the rehab and I was surprised how important that job became in such a short time.

I treasured Anthony Bourdain and he was taken from me too soon. I saw some of myself in him, but more in terms of my potential.  He had an infectious balance of passion, intellect, curiosity, and sensitivity. He was living my dream by being able to inspire, educate, travel, write, meet fascinating people and sample the world’s cuisines. He was a badass with a huge heart. But it appears his shadow got the best of him and he gave into his darker impulses. I realize these losses are not personal, but they still feel personal. I can strongly relate to the stories of those who are survivors and come from behind and do great things. However, here in 3D, no thing is eternal and to quote George Harrison, all things must pass.

I am so moved by those who can transform themselves and live life fully. So I honor my heroes who are recovering addicts or recovering from anything toxic by working on myself. I take photos, apply for jobs, participate in new activities, delve into subjects that excite me, and balance the new with the respect for the old. We do not usually get to decide when change is upon us, but we can decide how to cope with it.

I am still exploring what I want to do next. What type of career path should I pursue? How can I best be of service? I want to continue helping awaken the planet and not much else interests me anymore. Can any of you relate to narrowing one’s focus in this way? The trick is to find the best way to serve that is uniquely meant for you. How do you know what it looks like? Does length of service matter at all? What about function, setting, location? This can be overwhelming but the guiding principle in this process is to do what feels good in the body and participate where I can grow and develop along the way. At least that’s the motto for today!

Sharing a Non-Selfie

Thank you David for this stunning mystical marriage of image and text.

New Moon Orchids and Such

Happy New Cancer Moon to all,

While this lunation at 2 degrees Cancer sits clearly in my 5th house of romance and fun, I am feeling none of the above. My work life is being thrown into chaos as funding woes have drastically changed my job description. My health is better in general, but pain is a constant companion most days. I am now on clinical supervisor number three and I keep asking myself if I am a masochist for attempting to complete the LCSW process. I will let you know when I figure it out.

On the bright side, I still have a job for now and some interesting developments have recently surfaced. I have just begun teaching astrology on a formal basis.  I interviewed for an opportunity to participate in a pilot project on supporting people on Spiritual Emergence/Awakening. More new people are appearing in my life in terms of group constellations and I find that exciting.

However, my energy level remains low and my worry about work is currently interfering with my ability to blog new material. Hopefully this will pass soon, but in the meantime I want to post some amazing orchids and such I shot a few months back at Longwood Gardens.

While no one is going to confuse me with a professional photographer, I must admit that I have enjoyed taking photos very early on. I prefer shooting natural scenes to people because I relish the opportunity to capture moments of beauty. As a very visual person, photography comes naturally to me. Not the technical aspects, but the pleasure of focusing on what comes your way. It can be a form of mindfulness.

I continue to engage in gratitude practice as it helps me re-program inherent negativity into new energy. I am grateful to have a platform to call my own which affords me the ability to broadcast instantaneous musings and imagery all over our planet.

namaste to all
