New Moon Orchids and Such

Happy New Cancer Moon to all,

While this lunation at 2 degrees Cancer sits clearly in my 5th house of romance and fun, I am feeling none of the above. My work life is being thrown into chaos as funding woes have drastically changed my job description. My health is better in general, but pain is a constant companion most days. I am now on clinical supervisor number three and I keep asking myself if I am a masochist for attempting to complete the LCSW process. I will let you know when I figure it out.

On the bright side, I still have a job for now and some interesting developments have recently surfaced. I have just begun teaching astrology on a formal basis.  I interviewed for an opportunity to participate in a pilot project on supporting people on Spiritual Emergence/Awakening. More new people are appearing in my life in terms of group constellations and I find that exciting.

However, my energy level remains low and my worry about work is currently interfering with my ability to blog new material. Hopefully this will pass soon, but in the meantime I want to post some amazing orchids and such I shot a few months back at Longwood Gardens.

While no one is going to confuse me with a professional photographer, I must admit that I have enjoyed taking photos very early on. I prefer shooting natural scenes to people because I relish the opportunity to capture moments of beauty. As a very visual person, photography comes naturally to me. Not the technical aspects, but the pleasure of focusing on what comes your way. It can be a form of mindfulness.

I continue to engage in gratitude practice as it helps me re-program inherent negativity into new energy. I am grateful to have a platform to call my own which affords me the ability to broadcast instantaneous musings and imagery all over our planet.

We Otta Be Ottahs~

Many of you know that I am very fond of otters and have seen otter-like critters in my neck of the woods. I blog about them regularly and consider them such a blessing. I have not been able to take a picture of any as of yet. I consider them to be part of my spirit animal circle. Cindy has done a bang-up job here, bringing otter-mania to all of their fans. Please enjoy these gorgeous photos, taken with such loving care.

Cuz life just floats by.

Sea Otters live in close communities called rafts. Can you see the babies floating on their mamas? Hint: they are the brown fuzzy bumps with little faces resting on their mama’s bellies? (CLick to enlarge for better optics).

Like all communities with time on their hands, gossip can be a problem.
“If you say this one more time, Edna, I swear, I will cover my ears!”

April Update

Hello litebeings!

I am strongly led to get something out to you today. My computer is acting oddly, so if I am silent for a while, most likely I am in need of a new laptop.

Emotionally I am fried right now. Life is moving slow and fast concurrently. This defies understanding, so I will not even try. You probably can feel it yourself.

What I will do is briefly share how I am doing:

I lost a few pounds by eating less carbs.

I scheduled a colonoscopy. So what if it took 5 years to do so?

I am researching alternative healers and plan to use tax refund to pay for it. Let’s hope the person I choose is within my price range. Thanks to those who offered me assistance with this process.

I am walking almost daily whether I want to or not. It is about building momentum and a routine. This season with its glory has enticed me to go outside and be with the magic of nature. This Spring is dazzling and buzzing with activity.

I have resumed my meditation practice, courtesy of the Deepak Chopra series.

Here are some images I captured walking around my neighborhood in no particular order:

It seems that when I do focus on 3D signs, they usually appear, especially those of the numerical variety.

I hope you all enjoyed this spring stroll and April update. I will write more once I am better grounded and my computer cooperates.

Gemini Moon Magic

Here’s a treat for the non-astrologer. You may ask: What does Gemini moon even mean? How does it look, feel, operate? Here’s a gem from me and a couple of Gem moonbeams from last year that will give you a hint or two. Enjoy!

“Gem Moon Mandala” by AmandaSeesDreams of http://www.Dreamrly.com

Welcome to the collaborative lunations of Gemini moon pals, LitebeingDreamrly, and yours truly, The Ptero Card. Yesterday marked the Gemini / Sagittarius full moon of 2014, and through our mutual love of art and writing we’re combining our efforts for a few reflections on our experience of lunar Gemini in our natal astrological charts. Each of our contributions was produced independently, without consultation other than assigning the art work to Dreamrly, poetry to Litebeing and intuitive writing to me. We present here the fruits of our work which we hope enhance your own lunations, where ever they may take you.

The basis of astrology, an ancient wisdom practiced by nearly all pre-scientific cultures, comes from the understanding that external cosmological events have a corresponding affect on our interiority, because human disposition is a microcosm of the macrocosm, or, as the ancients say, “as above, so below.” I suspect…

Yikes! What if they gave a final Pluto Uranus square and nobody posted?

Hello Litebeings,

Tomorrow is the big hurrah and I haven’t posted. I hope to blog soon on how I am faring spiritually and my thoughts on the brewing astrological weather. If I don’t do so today, don’t fret. I would read this  gem in the meantime. The author of the link goes by the name Michael Lutin. I call him brilliant, visionary and frighteningly accurate per usual.

I will be back posting once I gather my parts up off the floor and reassemble my self.

phil's fall

Above are 2 shots taken in the fall. The first in mine and the other taken by a talented friend. They both possess pointillistic, mosaic vibes, don’t ya think?

I promise I will be back soon. Just wanted to say hello and to also thank all the new followers and readers. Welcome! I hope you find my stories and musings thought-provoking and relatable. Go back to the archives to see how my story has evolved. Plenty can happen in 2 years.

Or 2 seconds..

September

Oh how I love September! The promise of new beginnings, fresh ideas, exciting encounters with future friends …  Much rather go here than discuss how I spent my Summer with Saturn. I am not ready to go there, not yet anyway!

I took these four shots today in my neighborhood.

I enjoy the contrast  between hot and cool, opening and closing, bright and muted, fragrant and decaying, subtle changes between photo 1 and photo 3 ( can you see the differences between the two? do tell!)

Life is all about contrast and context, isn’t it?

Gotta leave you with a song, an oldie but goodie.

guess the song !
