Rocking Along

Happy Libra Full Moon, otherwise known as the Worm Moon!  It is a complex one with the Sun sandwiched in with Venus, Chiron and Ceres. Healing, balance, boundaries, and love of self and other are all in play.

I am currently playing with rocks. This is not a new development, but my crystal interest has peaked in recent months. I blogged many years ago about my Sugilite experiences as part of my blogging challenge. I have always enjoyed precious gemstones, especially Turquoise and Opal as a teenager. I was fascinated with birthstones at that time, as this linked with astrology. But during the Pandemic I became more curious about their healing and protective properties, along with a stone’s unique correspondence to certain chakras or accessing intuitive abilities.

Yesterday my old pal Robert entered my awareness. I recalled that he thought I would become involved with someone who loved rocks. I found this realization curious back then but not now.

Robert said on several occasions I would hang out with someone who loved rocks. Funny, I did not realize that someone was future me! I came upon a neighbor today that reminded me of Robert so I know he is helping to guide this blog today! It was so subtle in how he resurfaced. It did not register at first about my neighbor. I had to go outside again and take another look.

I am having more clarity as to why I would wear certain earrings to the office, preferring Turquoise or Jasper. Lately I was introduced to a vendor online who sells or auctions off crystal jewelry and standalone pieces. Sometimes she will add something extra to the order. I do not know the names of some of the stones I have acquired over the years, but they are all unique and special to me.

I am wearing this Labradorite pendant today:

I have been especially fond of this stone, as well as Mookaite, Amethyst, Hematoid Quartz, Fluorite, and Green Aventurine. My moods vary and I am very well into this experimental stage, learning what works and how they blend with mediation or reiki or dreamtime. I am particularly drawn to grounding energies lately as I find myself often scattered or distracted. Pretty common for many these days.

The bowl and saucer also hold power and magick. The crystal-like bowl was given away for free at the Quaker Meetinghouse where I meet ( pre-Covid) with my spiritual director. The saucer goes with the teacup that belonged to my Pisces maternal grandmother. Lavender and Pisces, a match made in the astral! I added scarabs to this collection as they have spiritual importance of their own.

This article provides a nice introduction to some healing properties of crystals. The Crystal Bible is also a good read. I still have much to learn. I don’t do grids and am still figuring out how best to set intentions and clean/clear their energies. I enjoy so much the colors and textures and shimmery effects. With a Saturn ruled 12th house occupied currently with Saturn and Pluto, this is a fine time for my newish obsession.

  1. Love those energy stones! I like the idea of doing my research on this topic. I’ve always been fascinated by rocks, crystals, astrology, and mandalas. This Age of Aquarius is definitely doing its thing.

  2. You are gonna have so much fun with grids and mandalas! I think we have Mercury conjoining Neptune right now in Pisces so you are naturally distracted! I used to love crystals from a young age, too. Also I would clean outdoor rocks with water from the hose after collecting them and put them out in the sunlight to cleanse, instinctively. I was particularly obsessed with crystal gazing and colors as a child. I was quite attached to my amethyst and my moss agate among others. My Nana made me a rock collection cabinet. Right now I am in deep deep love with my Emerald ring. I love when the rocks tell you they want to be included in rituals 💖

    1. Thanks Sue! It is great to hear from you. I have become more drawn to crystals in part to learning about animism theory. I have plenty of exploration to do. BTW, did you receive my last email?
      take good care, Linda ❤

  4. Beautiful pendant, Linda! I love crysrals, stones, rocks – always hang out in crystal shops whenever I can. I experiment by closing my eyes and letting the stones attract me. Each time there is a different one that pulls me wity great force. Last Thursday it was fiery agate, which I now put on my Tara altar. I thought it was a perfect one for the Sun and Venus in Aries. Stones are marvellous! I guess I missed your earlier posts about them – that’s a pity.

    1. Thanks Monika!
I miss hanging out in crystal shops or shops in general. Not many brick and mortar crystal shops around me, but when the time is right… Fiery agate looks cool. If you want to read an earlier interesting post of mine on crystals, the link to Sugilite is included within this post.

      hugs, Linda
