What times do we live in? What frequency am I visiting? Is my Linda personality even embodied anymore? So many questions and no answers. As a spirit embodying a Sun Mercury Neptune conjunction/stellium configuration, there has always been confusion and mysticism about. However I can so easily lose my balance. I am beginning to see what the move from a progressed Taurus Ascendant to a progressed Gemini one can do. Losing some of my earth element lost me the beloved Oak and gaining more air ( very close to natal IC at this time) is causing more anxiety plus a relocation to a new home.
The weather has been quite freaky the past week or so, from very hazardous smoky air coming in from the Canadian wildfires to semi-tropical weather today ( harsh thunderstorms turning into blissful sunshine and low humidity). I am slowly but surely seeing that I have no choice but to “roll with it. ” Today did not turn out al all like I hoped. However, with Saturn stationing tomorrow, why was I even making plans?
I did drive out in the thunder to buy bottled water and I survived. It will be nice not to contend with Philly water anymore ( especially since the chemical spill a few months back). Anyway, in the car I had a flashback to a band that I loved back in the 1980s. A local radio station was playing their music because after all this time they released a new album. Who knew? Frankly I forgot all about them, until now. The Band was quite popular and originated here in Philly. They are The Hooters.
All this moving business in some ways transports me back even earlier than my last move in 1996. It takes me waaay back to when I first moved to The City of Brotherly Love. I have lived in this city since 1982, 41 years! I realize that number isn’t symbolically important, but heck it is transporting me to my youth. I threw out some stuff today and feel dusty, tired, and excited all at once! I played some Hooters tunes on YouTube to refresh my memory. These songs, long forgotten by me, really capture a part of me that has been long buried away.
Here are a few videos for your initiation into the reggae infused Hooterworld:
Here’s a bonus from another local treasure, the A’s:
I know that there were a few others I really enjoyed, but my brain ( and Google) is not cooperating. Moving to this city changed my life and opened up doors that led to more portals. You know how it goes. There was a club I do recall visiting once in center city that was so hip and different from anywhere I had been before. I may have been 19 or 20 ( One could legally drink at age 18 when I was growing up). This article calls it a disco , but I remember it being more rock and new wave. I was so excited when legendary DJ Michael Tearson strolled in. If there are any Philly natives reading this post, please comment and share your experiences ( if you had any at that time.)
You know what, I will throw in a fav from the late 70s, why not? The B- 52″s were not local and I did not see them live, but I danced to Rock Lobster with my friends back in NJ at Emerald City. Happy Friday night!

Sometimes Linda I feel we are all in a Time Warp my friend.. You cannot beat the 70’s… for music… 🙂 in my opinion… but then I was born in the 50’s lol…. 🙂

I agree Sue! I think my favorite decade for music is the 70s with the 60s as a close second and when I was born certainly has a lot to do with it. Yet it seems most ( not all) current stuff sounds the same to me.

Agree about the current music nothing holds the attention and the lyrics are often one line repeats with no substance. No real story within them . 💖
