Neptune in Aries ~ The Thaw

Neptune

Everyone has heard about Pluto moving into Aquarius and the reverberations preceded the actual start of the transit. Neptune is always elusive and tomorrow’s transit is HUGE. While the current Pluto in Capricorn transit was 16 years to Neptune in Pisces’s 14 years, it seemed longer to me. Perhaps that is because Neptune is slow. Drip, drip drip.

I am a Neptune fan.  Liz Greene’s book Neptune is among one of my most cherished astrology books.  It is chock full of fantastic, imagination – rich,  poetic treasures.  I am personally quite Neptunian, as I suspect this blog illustrates quite well. My biological family also has several Pisces folks. Many of my favorite people also have Pisces sun or Neptune on the ascendant, etc. Music, film, jewelry, mystical anything, all the arts, dreams, magic, romance ; I adore all of it.

When Neptune conjoined my ascendant in March of 2005, my world began to rock again.  I noticed many spiritual openings as an adolescent and young adult, but there was quite an intensity from mid 2004 to 2013 or so.  I expected Neptune in Pisces to be wonderful and I was incorrect. Still in my first house, it did not continue to lift me higher. I wanted to see it as any dreamy idealist would, with rose colored glasses. This transit led to conspiracy theories on steroids,  fake news, paranoia, blatant dishonesty, and secrecy.

As today melts into tomorrow, the thaw will begin. Neptune will be actually moving into my second house in the not so distant future.  At this point, I am ready to say goodbye. i know my sensitive nature will persist.  This planet will benefit from awakening from  delusional slumber.

The sludge party is over.

I enjoy intuiting what this fresh transit might bring into the collective. I find this is more effective for me. One thing I think will be obvious to all, change is relentless now.  With five of the slower, more globally consequential  planets entering new signs very soon  ( Pluto – still a planet in my book , Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, and Jupiter ), 2025 will be a historically incredible year.

Neptune will enter Aries on March 30, 2025 and will  leave on March 23, 2039, with the typical retrogrades in and out of Pisces. Here are a few suggested themes for this new Neptunian era.  First, there is the thaw. The confusion will slowly fade. The inertia will recede, gradually. Water will take a new form. Things will flow faster and begin to heat up.

Aries does not mess around. It brings the heat. Aries is initiation. Pisces is the 12th house of confinement, sedation, and sleep.  Aries represents the Rising sign, a newborn, the big bang, the beginning.  Tonight we are at the precipice of a New Age. This will be radically different from Uranus in Aries. That was a wild time and the ripples continue.  However, I see the past five years or so as a period of tumultuous, radical , seismic shifts. As a result, Neptune is ushering in even more mayhem, intensity, and emotional energies in a manner that could be considered unprecedented. I know this term is overused, but it is the right one to describe these times.

So first there was sludge, soon the thaw, and next the steam. I share this image of a boiling teapot often with therapy clients when I want to describe what happens when emotions can no longer be contained or suppressed. The steam must come out or the pot will explode. Maybe this has happened in your life or you have  observed it in someone else. This process is inevitable.   So what happens next?

Awakening from  the dream, government disclosure of secrets, more religious scandals coming to light, the move from night to day, fog to clarity, confusion to conclusions. decay to vitality, doubt to enthusiasm, sloppiness to organization, neglect to attention and care.  denial to defiance, apathy to war…….

The trick is to tease out one transit in a sea of astrological activity. There is so much happening, all at warp speed. Over the past few years I found myself struggling to discern all the upcoming transits because I felt  so overwhelmed by it all. Overwhelm  is  also so  very Pisces and Neptune.

I will stop here. So much to take in, especially in light of today’s Solar Eclipse in Aries.  Stay open and heart centered, stay grounded and mindful, stay connected and engaged. But also rest and retreat when needed. We lightworkers have been on such a journey.
