Read this post first for context.
The original post referenced above was discovered by me while scrolling today. I had been hoping that I had posted something about the beginning of this second Saturn transit to my Ascendant. Not only does the original blog cover the topic, it draws connection with the first Saturn transiting Ascendant and 1st house go -round that occurred back in 1992.
Tonight I will comment on the end of this Saturn cycle that takes effect today. Today Wednesday March 25, 2026 transiting Saturn officially moved to my natal Second house cusp. The transit to my Ascendant ( 1st house ) lasted approximately 4 years and 1 month using the Placidus house system. Four years is an exceptionally long time for a transit. For those who are not astrologers, don’t worry about house systems. Long story short, depending on one’s location at birth, there is significant differences in the size of the 12 astrological houses in one’s birth chart. The bigger the house, the longer a planet’s residence will be.
My first and seventh houses are the largest in my chart so those areas of life ( self and partnerships ) are emphasized. Self obviously includes the physical body. Saturn and health often add up to weakness, illness, fatigue, frailty, disability, etc. The beginning of the cycle ( 2022 and 2023 ) were the most active for me , resulting in my moving out of my longtime home, gaining my LCSW license , and building up my therapy practice. It appears that the beginning of the transit resulted in positive, consequential outcomes as a result of hard work and planning. This is very much a feature of Saturn. Illness intensified in 2023 and has held steady since then. My attitude has often remained somber, my mood darker, and my hermit tendencies have increased. Some of these shifts are also connected to the Pluto transit in my 12th house but Saturn is typically experiences as less mysterious and more direct.
Say hello to Margot! I acquired her around Christmas but waited to take a pic until all of the snow disappeared. The snow refused to fade for close to 6 weeks, which is probably a record here in the Philly suburbs. I adore the blue color and the return of the heated seats. They are really soothing to the lower back. Margot means pearl. I learned that after I chose it. I do not see how pearl relates to this vehicle but I appreciate that a pearl is a rare treasure that originates in the sea. Naming objects lends a hint of security to my psyche for reasons still unknown. Margot has nothing to do with the topic at hand but I promised to share my new car at some point. We Moon in Gemini types do love our vehicles!
Fun fact : For reasons seemingly suspicious, I was told I could not keep my current license plate and it was replaced with a cool image of the Liberty Bell and the slogan Let Freedom Ring. I have not had a distinctive plate before and it is empowering to drive around advertising freedom. See sample plate below :
What does the future hold for me at the end of this cycle? I am not sure. I recognize that it isn’t as harsh for everyone. Saturn in the 1st can add maturity, resilience, perhaps even wisdom. Saturn isn’t good or bad, but rarely is it enjoyable. Transiting Saturn in the 2nd house isn’t usually a celebratory time, but it will be substantially shorter. For some it can mean financial woes, but my income went up during the first Saturn conjunction to the second house, due to a job promotion in the mid 1990s. Robert Hand, an astrological living legend, speaks to this cycle as a re- emphasis on living one’s values. and recommends one plans well and obsesses less about money. I have deliberately working on been doing that for years, so perhaps I am set.
Astrology really works well. I am absolutely convinced. However there is something to be said about projection of one’s expectations. Please take this seriously because mental programming is very prominent. For my fellow Aquarius rising folks along with the Pisces and early degree Aries ascendants, please let me know in the comments how you have been faring with the Saturn transit.
It is amazing how the majority of the planet navigates these cycles without much Astro information. This often baffled me. Perhaps there are drawbacks as well as blessings to living one’s life with one eye towards the sky. All I know is that I get a reprieve from this four year odyssey until 2052. My hard – copy ephemeris ends at 2050 and I am not guaranteed to reach my 90s but if I do, please have advanced, human friendly healing technology up and running soon. On second thought, we could have used it ” yesterday “,
