Greetings everyone! As the sun is still a few minutes shy of reaching my Ascendant, I am milking this 12th house energy for all its worth. I did feel the Imbolc Candlemas surge once the calendar moved into February, but recent health issues has challenged my productivity. This is partially why I have not published any new material in a while. Check out Jamie’s fabulous Imbolc post to learn more about this Winter to Spring sacred time.

Welcome to all new followers and readers! I am so delighted to have so many new people visit me here at litebeing chronicles. Please feel free to comment, even if just to say hello. I want you to know that I am thrilled whenever someone takes the time to read about my journey. Thank you for your interest in my life.

I have so much going on, which sometimes leaves me undecided as to where to place my focus. This can happen when there is so much movement internally and externally. Fortunately I have decided to share my enchantment with the US Democrat Presidential primaries.

What??? Politics?? What does this have to do with spiritual awakening?

I asked myself the same questions. Here’s the thing: In my life, I allow myself to follow my attractions. If I am drawn to something, I will give it my time and energy and see where it leads me. I rarely write about politics, but find that astrology does a great job of describing how planetary themes get played out on the world stage. While this is not an astrology article per se, I want to acknowledge that the Pluto in Capricorn square Uranus in Aries cycle we have been living since 2012 has been dramatically triggering global chaos and crisis. Crisis, please remember, is another word for opportunity.

I am an avid political fan and use astrology and intuition  to engage with the process. Some people enjoy football, I prefer election races! I do not like to use my politics to influence others, which is why I limit any commentary on the blog.

However, I witnessed something a few days ago that really moved me emotionally. My intense reaction strongly compels me to share it with my readers. Let me explain: I have been really struggling about who to vote for in the primaries. I would love to see a woman President and do respect Hillary Clinton. She has spent her life serving others and remaining in her husband’s shadow for many years. She exemplifies Scorpio resilience and passion.

But then came Bernie….

I remember Bernie Sanders when the US Senate was struggling to gain a Democratic Majority. Sanders, who was an Independent at the time, decided to caucus with the Democrats and helped them gain a slight majority. Looking back, it did very little to address congressional gridlock, but this event gave me the chance to learn a bit about this longtime Independent Socialist from Vermont.

At a New Hampshire Town Hall meeting, the subject of spirituality was raised. Bernie, a non-practicing Jew, was asked about his beliefs. This was his response:

” It’s a guiding principle in my life, absolutely, it is,” Sanders began. He explained that everyone practices their faith differently and acknowledged that he wouldn’t be running if he didn’t have a strong religious and spiritual understanding, then continued.

” I believe that, as a human being, the pain that one person feels, if we have children who are hungry in America, if we have elderly people who can’t afford their prescription drugs, you know what, that impacts you, that impacts me,” the senator said. “And I worry very much about a society where some people spiritually say, it doesn’t matter to me, I got it, I don’t care about other people. So my spirituality is that we are all in this together and that when children go hungry, when veterans sleep out on the street, it impacts me. That’s my very strong spiritual feeling.”

My heart began to beat faster and tears streamed down my cheeks. This man is expressing the tenets of unity consciousness. Not only does he stand for integrity, he practices empathy. This is huge. This message is divinely inspired. My mind was officially blown. I urge that those interested find a video transcript because watching the discussion gives it more weight. The reason I strongly resonate with this response is because I believe that he is simply a vehicle of the collective; an instrument of the people. This is where revolution can lead to evolution. If you examine both words, it is simple to conclude that revolution is a reenactment of evolution. When we take steps towards extraordinary social change, we are growing, developing, maturing. This is the genius of Pluto square Uranus.

I am not advocating for a particular candidate. I am merely sharing my reactions to a moment in time. What matters more than an election is how the personal influences the political. This is why I am proud to call myself a Social Worker. I learned from my Social Welfare Policy Instructor how society is shaped by our beliefs. This principle is quite powerful and can be seamlessly applied to the spiritual path.

Just a little something to chew on a sunny and snowy February day in 2016.

Aries New Moon ~ Same Old Song, But with a Different Twist

wikipedia public domain

I was sort of psyched to write about this powerfully liberating Aries new moon, but could not get it together. I was too busy having a diverticulitis attack. Fortunately I caught it early and it appears that I am slowly on the mend.  So grateful I could ride this out at home. How I survived without major pain meds is a mystery. But why it happened almost exactly 1 year after my initial attack is less of one.

My initiation into Colonodyssey was April 6, 2015, following a full moon eclipse that highlighted the Uranus Pluto square. April 7, 2016 was a new moon, also showcasing Pluto and Uranus. I wrote all about it here, a post I recently re-blogged to foreshadow my next Colonodyssey installment. Perhaps it was really foreshadowing this next health setback. Who knows anymore?

There is some irony that on both dates I wanted to write about these significant astrological events, but could not push through my resistance. Looking back, it is clear that I knew there was going to be more to the story.

If I did write about this recent new moon, mention of it being the unofficial start of 2016 would be paramount. With Uranus conjunct the new moon, I would have indicated bold, exciting, fresh beginnings. I don’t know about you, but for me nothing feels new. Not yet anyway. Yesterday it snowed in April and I am left wondering if time has stood still or if I can’t trace time ( Changes by David Bowie  reference). I feel like I am stuck in quicksand. By the way, Quicksand is another Bowie song. Couldn’t help myself.

What seems somewhat new is the steady influx of Spirit movement. I had 2 dreams within the span of a few days that warned me about my health, which I chose to discount ( yet again.) One dream included the 911 sequence and the other one referenced pipes needing repair ( I am equating pipes with intestines). I am learning the hard way that minimizing these signals, regardless of dream residue interference, is foolish business.

Another development is the onslaught of strange phone calls I have received  the week following my medium session. According to my caller ID,  I was flooded with unknown callers  from all over the country – all strangers to me, a few days before the reading and the entire week after.  Some days the phone would ring constantly, leaving some hangups on my voicemail. I do not know any of the phone numbers nor am I connected with most of their locations. Last night the calls have seemed to cease. Thank goodness! Seems like Spirit was testing to see if I was paying attention. Sylvia Browne says that the deceased often will make the phone ring in order to communicate. She could be right.

I have had to put any plans on hold once more, and focus clearly on the here and now. This is not fun, but necessary when your world is rocked in a not-very-good way. This is so Uranus Pluto, yet rather old school by this point. When I visited a new GI specialist last Friday, his parting words were ” call us if you have another attack so we can postpone your colonoscopy.” He repeated himself, making his message more pronounced.  I wondered if he was able to predict this outcome, or was it a self-fulfilling prophecy? Truth be told, I have been down this road before; the road where you can drive yourself crazy with half-baked theory and conjecture. I could attempt to explain why I relapsed, but what purpose would be served?

This is the thing: I do not want to be a victim anymore. I finished watching the latest Matt Kahn video ~ Claim your power, which was about taking the high road in life, aka the Golden Rule. It is a worthwhile lecture, so consider taking a look. He goes on to describe four ego behaviors that can derail you: entitlement, righteousness, neediness, and victimhood. When he got to victimhood, the buzzer went off in my head. He defines it as a belief that everything is conspiring against you. Sound familiar anyone? I had not thought about victimhood this way before, but it fits. I have been valiantly attempting to flip the script to the opposite premise, that the universe is conspiring in my favor. Making an about-face has been haunting me for a good while. It is a real struggle, but worth pursuing anyway. I know it is a better way to live.

But it ain’t easy.

So how has this new moon been treating you?

Is it invigorating and exciting?

Or same old, same old?

Or is it more like the same old song, but with a twist?

Astrological Forecast: March Madness ~ Play to Your Strengths

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Oh how I enjoy a good pop culture metaphor to describe the energies.  March madness is the annual NCAA Basketball tournament here in the US. The moniker surely is appropriate for March 2015. This is not a subtle Pisces season. We are in the wild place where electricity meets the ocean. Thunderstorms, tsunamis, and tidal waves are on the daily menu. I suggest you take a great big bite and chew slowly so you can digest what you consume. Better than have it consume you!

There is so much on the menu: Saturday’s ( March 14) Saturn retrograde in Sag, the final Uranus Pluto Square as we speak, and a powerful Solar Eclipse at 29 ( critical) degrees Pisces followed by the Spring Equinox ( Fall in Southern Hemisphere ) on March 20th. So what is a litebeing to do with all this info? Hide inside your bunker or dance gleefully in the storm?

I prefer utilizing both the intuitive and experiential approaches when I consider powerful universal astrological events. This serves me well as an astrologer and as a human living day-to-day. So here is what I suggest: Look to the placements of transiting Uranus and your natal north node.

Uranus has the upper hand in its squaredance with Pluto. Uranus in Aries is ripe with change, freedom, and beginning anew. Pluto in Capricorn is dismantling the old guard piece by piece. Uranus is impatient and relentless in Aries. While Pluto does not play fair, Uranus comes to the party with super-skills and  exciting maneuvers that are simply unparalleled. Locate transiting Uranus in your chart and he will help you fly by the seat of your pants. Which house ( or houses) contains Aries? Look for any natal planets aspecting Uranus between 13- 17 Aries in your chart. Planets in cardinal signs are especially potent. Understanding how Uranus works with your chart will give you some clues on how to ride the tiger. For example, Aries is my 2nd house of money and finances and Uranus is currently squaring my Saturn/ Mars opposition ( 13 degrees Cap and 17 degrees Cancer respectively). This can lead to crazy finances peppered with conflicts, delays, and occasional manna from the ethers. So with a 2nd house transiting Uranus, one might live a simpler life, save for unexpected expenses, find unusual sources of income, and stay open to new ways of attracting abundance into your orbit. The thing about Uranus is that one can imagine several possible scenarios but the events that appear are often original, shocking and abrupt. Uranus is always ahead of the pack and rarely conforms to suppositions or trends. Therein lies the magnificence of this planet.

Then take a look at your natal north node. What sign is it in and which house does it occupy? How is it aspected? The north node will show you how to shine and play to your inherent strengths. It will force you out of your comfort zone and teach you how to step into your precious most expansive self. My north node, for example, is in Virgo in the 7th house. It is conjunct Pluto and squares my MC/IC axis. A recent review of this placement reminds me not to give up so easily and use my sensitivity ( Pisces south node) to my advantage in my service to others , rather than allow it stifle my ability to be in the physical world ( Virgo). It also pushes me to reinvent myself over and over again ( Pluto) in the best interest of my highest good. These are not easy lessons, but the way of the nodes is never easy.

There is just so much going on now. The ride will continue to escalate throughout April with a Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse on 4-4-15.  The storm has not weakened yet. The lightning may have ended, but  how many trees have fallen? How many homes are without power? Where are the floods located?

We will not live out these energies the same way and different elements will become more noticeable as we move through time. That is why I suggest to focus on Uranus and North Node and let them lead you into the arena. One cannot predict how long you will feel the impact of these energies personally, or how you will react to the global events that are triggered. However if you play to your strengths, you will be more likely to play the game with grace and confidence and spend less time on the bench.

I find it ironic that this is my 300th post. I have been contemplating the squares for a long time now and would not have been able to clearly see this outcome of my journey at the start of the cycle. I certainly was not entertaining blogging. But here I am, so very different in my wiring , and excited to press publish for the 300th time. Thank you all for accompanying me along the way.
