As she entered the Castle building where she lived just one year ago, she hoped to return again. But it will be different this time. As she walked around the small studio dwelling, familiar glimmers of her power began to enter her awareness.

As she stood in the kitchen of the current tenant, she marveled at  the earth mother vibe, with homemade baked bread, loads of fresh veggies, and  various containers and  bowls containing beans soaking in water. How unusual, she murmured to herself. I have never seen beans outside of a can before, but yet, something within me wants to grow into a woman who understands the glory of the earth. She wondered how the water revives the beans and what other mysteries reside within them.

I will live here alone and build my life anew. Saturn is demanding that I put down my own roots for the first time in this life. Perhaps I will be similar to this woman whose home I will claim. This is my time. She told the owner she will take the apartment.


Now is the ideal time to share more of the back story behind my starting litebeing chronicles.  I hinted at this tale here. It goes back to Halloween 2012, and in many ways, much further beyond  linear time itself. ( as I type these last words, my phone rings. Often I notice that the truth is often echoed with sounds in one’s immediate environment. Just sayin’ )

Before I proceed, I am going to share with you my personal theory on interpersonal connections. I have been playing with this for some time but never disclosed it before. I visualize that all beings are like planetary bodies with unique orbits. All of these orbs spin like wheels through space and time. Picture natal astrology wheels in orbit. This is why some relationships are fleeting, while others are “permanent” or intermittent. The mystic wheel above is as close of an approximation I could find online. My Dancing Rainbow Wheels header image also conveys a possible interpretation. Consider either image and then close your eyes and imagine infinite wheels moving independently at various speeds throughout eternity. Then imagine that certain wheels start to gradually slow down and begin colliding together and aligning symmetrically, only to pick up speed again in a yet to be determined instant…


Now back to our story: 

Two years ago I was searching for some missing ” elements” in my life. My physical health was clearly deteriorating and I was not certain I could stand the pressure to work a full-time job anymore. Certain aspects of my life needed to change. My devotion to Quakerism had evaporated. My long-held ideas about the workings of Spirit were up for grabs. While I loved ( and still love) so many of my Quaker Friends ( and friends), I knew that my worldview was not confined to one particular religious denomination. I just did not know what was true for me anymore and I was scared. While I was relieved to discover that it had always been about the people, not the circumstances that attracted them to my life after all, I still felt empty. My carefully honed house of cards came tumbling down, yet again.

When I learned that Tracie was discounting soul-truthing sessions, I was curious to learn more. I enjoyed her Gaia channeling at the monthly Soundbaths I had attended. I was very intrigued by this process of soul communication and the price was right. So I contacted her straight away. We scheduled my session for Halloween. It seemed like the perfect time to access whatever has been hidden from view.

Ever hear something that seemed so wrong but you could not ignore it, no matter how hard you tried? I always take any reading with copious grains of salt, because my intuition will always remain the ultimate authority.  However, when I was told that my flame had basically dimmed and that I was living like an observer, detached from life, I had to face the music. I was closing down. I was instructed to invoke fire energy into my life though daily meditation. Once I was revitalized, the time would come to use some herbs to get grounded.  Fire, than earth. I asked Tracie where I could purchase the herbs and she suggested a store in my neighborhood. While the reading contained a lot more information, we will focus today on the need to reclaim my passion. This journey reminded me of the shamanic practice of soul retrieval. My vitality depended on elemental medicine and I was ready to begin healing.

Within days I began to witness a variety of opportunities before me. The Quakers have a phrase for this ~ “way opens”.  I do not recall the exact timing of these events, but it really doesn’t matter. I saw the film Cloud Atlas and was enthralled with it for weeks after my initial viewing. The weaving of  seemingly disparate stories and characters  was so compelling. I was profoundly moved by this film. I then was introduced to Anita Moorjani’s book Dying to Be Me. I had to finish the book in one sitting. It was so captivating !  I totally got it, beliefs were irrelevant, it is all about experience.   YES ! Disease awareness campaigns only create more fear and dis-ease manifestations. Fear is not needed here, life does not require fear. On the heels of these revelations I began my first Deepak  Chopra guided meditation online series. I was hooked, meditating daily with little effort, just by keeping the commitment. My practice was flowing, After decades of difficulty, I now looked forward to closing my eyes and entering the stillness. It felt sooooo comforting.

Just a few weeks later, I sign up with WordPress and begin blogging. Further down the rabbit hole I go.

But there’s more….

Fast forward to late October 2013, 1 year after my soul truthing session. It is high time I find some herbs. I drive to the herb shop and it is closed. So I go to the bakery instead and buy some sweets and talk astrology with some women in the cafe section. I know that I must return to the herbal store soon. It is typical me to wait for months to go somewhere and then get so disheartened when the place is closed. I tell myself it will be fine to wait a bit longer. I return on All Saints Day, just a few days before a Solar Eclipse and my birthday. I allude to this encounter here. The herb shop is open and I walk in the door. I immediately feel disoriented and overwhelmed. The potent aromas carry me back to a distant time and place. Where am I ?? I am confused and suddenly fatigued , yet determined to purchase some tea. I wanted  a blend that I had just read about on Lehua’s blog, rooibos chai. But the small store was packed with so many choices and I was unable to decide. A gentle woman calms my nerves by smiling and simply listening to my ramblings. She patiently helps me find some tea, a strainer and some sage. We chat a bit and I tell her about my astrology practice. She smiles and blurts out that she is also an astrologer. Time melts away as we talk and talk and talk. There are no other customers, so it appears that we are being given divine permission to converse in the middle of the business day. This young herbalist and I swap contact info and say goodbye. Before I exit, I am reminded of the beans soaking in the bowls about 29 years ago…

Fast forward to NOW: 

The herbalist and I become good friends. We share a  synastric  Neptune / Venus  conjunction that has been showing up everywhere. The first time I discovered it was with James. These folks born in the late 1970s and early 1980s  joyfully buzz around me like exuberant bees, abundant with love and light. I am so grateful for their presence and the otherworldly Neptune Venus influence, so rare and exquisite.

In this particular scenario, there is a distinctive tie in with herbs. I have been using odd herb and spice combos in my cooking for what seems like forever. First it was cayenne in everything, than garlic, curry,  hot sauce and now ginger, Sriracha, and the multipurpose turmeric. No one has ever showed me how to use these ingredients and I do not use recipes. I use these ingredients intuitively, without measurements. This process is so natural to me.  On a few occasions, some have said that I have been a healer before; the go – to person for herbal remedies in my community. I begin to wonder if this could be true.

There are so many threads to this sweeping tale, some obvious ; others elusive. Shortly after I began blogging I met Karen, Monika and Sindy. Karen blogs on reincarnation. Monika posted about Cloud Atlas close to my WordPress arrival. Sindy began advertising the Deepak meditation series ( The next one begins this Monday). Through reading comments on Sindy’s blog I meet Shree, who writes a book review on Dying to be Me.  And on and on it goes.

2 years amounts to 730 days. It has been exactly 2 years since I had my soul – truthing session. It goes by so incredibly fast, doesn’t it? A string of subtle moments: a steaming cup of tea, candles flicker in the distance, a bowl of beans soaking on the counter, the fragrant whiff of fresh herbs, a stranger smiles, the winds kick up. One day slips into another.


The wheels keep spinning….

Musings ~ The World is Conspiring in Your Favor

UPDATE: As often happens in my world, synchronicity abounds. I just discovered today ( 11-2-14) that my local meetup group is having its monthly Saturday Discussion on Ascension. The leader said they have never covered this topic before and is bringing in a special speaker. If you are local and want to know the details, please email me. I hope to attend and gather more information and engage in some meaningful discussions. I am so grateful that my life is so graced with synchronicity, especially when the big questions come to me without any easy answers!

As a recovering paranoid pessimist, I work very hard to “re-frame” my thoughts and my expectations. This is much easier to for me to do with others in my role as a therapist than for myself. I was raised with the motto ” Never Trust Anybody!” and I began to internalize it early on, feeling like the world is not safe. Who says this stuff to their kids??

Anyway, one of my inner mottos is under reconstruction. I have pretty much eradicated ” Life’s unfair and then you die.” and am in the process of replacing it with ” The world is conspiring in your favor.” I also read online about the Pronoid type as opposed to the Paranoid type. Very cool!  Or maybe Cynthia Sue’s How good can it get? It inspires wonder and excitement. So in case any of you wondered why I downgraded myself from a lightbeing to litebeing,  you now have a clearer picture.

I have plenty of work to do and I have been at this for a long time. But I keep on keeping on. This brings me to the topic of ascension. First there was the New Age, then the Harmonic Convergence, then some other Harmonic thingy, and then the Mayan Apocalypse. Now we are supposedly begin reconfigured as a people and receiving regular upgrades.

I do not understand any of this really. I am being totally honest. I am fine with self-actualization and peak experiences ( I am a Maslow geek), periods of enlightenment and mystical openings. Many individuals and their select circles or tribes are waking up, but it seems more like the particular choice of one’s soul path rather than a mass movement. I have read about starseeds and indigos and the earth changes for decades. The earth changes are here. They were at one time predicted for the mid 1980s, but they eventually arrived. But are we really all being reprogrammed and to what end? Someone recently told me that throughout all of human history, people believed they were on the brink of something and/or the world is coming to an end. I was a channel groupie for a while as a youngin’ and relished with delight at the thought that we were chosen for a brand new world.

But are we, really?

Perhaps this idea is gaining traction because the planetary atrocities are so difficult to accept that we create ideas to provide us with some form of sanctuary. On top of this we have universally accessible technology which allows the masses to communicate and share ideas.

One of the questions I would regularly pose to astrological metaphysicians at astrology lectures is why are we as a society so technologically sophisticated and spiritually so stagnant. Will consciousness ever catch up? What accounts for such a monumental disconnect between the two?

I don’t think I ever received a response that satisfied me.

So I am opening this up for discussion and debate. I am hoping folks will offer original answers, not information that they have heard second or third hand. That may be asking a lot, but here at litebeing chronicles, we don’t play when the future of our planet is at stake.

So 2 bloggers enter a bar …

The past few years could be compared to life on a movie set. I have heard that performers typically complain that they are continuously being told to hurry up and wait. Hurry up and wait, I know this line too well. Especially in terms of my career search. Yet in other areas, manifestation is easy. I don’t do much at all except turn on my laptop and pay my internet service provider bill.

When it comes to making cosmic connections of the friendship variety, I have all the right qualifications and no interviews are required. The only networking necessary is that of the Divine variety.  The job is already mine and it does not feel like work at all. Joy abounds and the living is easy. Like when all the Scorpio planets move in and Mercury starts moving forward.

When life is in flow, all I have to do is be me. I met another radiant litebeing today and her name is Sarah. Today was my first bloggette meeting in real-time, woohoo! Sarah lives locally and we have quite a bit in common. I will keep those synchronicities between us , but I will disclose that we met because I was missing Amanda at Dreamly and was reading all her goodbye comments. I liked Sarah’s avatar and energy so I visited her site. And the rest, as they say, is herstory!

We chowed down on yummy Indian food in lovely Mt. Airy and got acquainted. She is as warm and fun and kind as her videos portray her to be. There was garlic naan, veggie korma, lamb chettinad, and plenty of conversation.  I provided her with the astrology reading that she won on my Grand Fire Trine giveaway contest. There is some cosmic glitter linking her with the giveaway, but you will have to ask her about that.

Spirit has been very generous in introducing me to wildly energetic, loving beings. Some live as far away as Australia, while others are as close as a car ride on a windy October Sunday. While I have met many of you via dreamtime, email, telephone and Skype, this encounter was quite unique and special. While I value our access to technology, there really is no substitute for face to face interaction.  There have been some moves behind the scenes to plan an international WordPress gathering, but they have been stalled for now. While this does disappoint me, I am learning to let any attachments go.  In the meantime, I choose to trust that I will meet and connect with all that are meant to cross my path for the highest good. And perhaps a couple of laughs and some spicy curry.

To Zig or to Zag

Talk about choices! I could not even decide which butterfly effect story to write about! While I was considering my options again while running errands this afternoon, my life created yet another possible story.




There is an art exhibit in town that caught my eye. It is closing tomorrow so I decided to visit the gallery on my way home. I could not find a spot close by. I finally found something within walking distance, but it was near a fire hydrant. I pondered whether or not to take my chances and park there. I finally decided it was not worth the risk so I parked at the train station and began to cross the street. An elderly woman was driving very slowly as I made my way across the busy intersection.  Her slow speed seemed peculiar because she was still moving at a snail’s pace after I had moved past her vehicle. She called over to me and asked for directions. She looked very frustrated and said she was terribly lost. I knew of the location she was searching for and it was several miles away. I gave her directions and headed into the gallery. Clearly I would have not been there to help her if I had taken the spot by the hydrant. This was not an exciting story, but it does illustrate the point that we are all connected.

We are faced with decision points all the time. We often live as if on autopilot and just react. I am working on living a more intentional existence.  This requires contemplation and the ability to listen to that still small voice. If I had posted my original story in my draft folder, I would not have written this one. I think I made the correct choice. The other story was too personal and I am not ready to share it publicly. I knew this was the wrong story so I hesitated. How often do we hesitate when something seems just a wee bit off?

So was there a ripple invoked by my giving this woman directions? Would someone else eventually help her? Probably. Would I have gotten a ticket or worse at the other spot? Not sure as I may have been parked the proper distance from the hydrant.

It is fun to mix it up sometimes. Zig instead of Zag, or Zag when everyone else is Zigging.

My life so far has been filled with plenty of forks in the road, creating agonizing dilemmas. I often imagine the road not taken, like being so incredibly torn between studying writing and psychology while in college. I chose psychology and then went on to build a career in the mental health/ social work profession. Writing is once again my passion and in many ways my temperament is much better suited for this lifestyle. Yet I touched the lives of so many people as a social worker and witnessed so many positive outcomes. I do not regret making a difference and being paid ” just to talk.”

Am I a better writer than a therapist? Sometimes I hit it out of the park. I don’t really know. I used to agonize over this decision, especially during difficult times in my career. Oh was the angst palpable at certain junctures over the years. But my life is not over and I get to make many more choices. Hopefully they will not result in parking tickets, or worse.

This will be a quick one. I have several posts in my draft folder and a few in my head. Lately I have been writing like a madwoman, but that’s okay. It keeps me sane and that’s a blessing.

As we approach the Return of the Scorpions throughout most of tomorrow ( October 23rd) , I have a prayer for all of you.

Live This Life

It is short and long, sweet and bitter, tidy and sludgy, up and down, cold and damp, stifling and expansive, scalding and fiery, boring and exhilarating. All at the same time.

And it is all we have NOW.

So I am re-posting my Scorpio post from 2 years ago that was very well received. I don’t think I can improve on this, so I will let it stand on its own.

Ahhh Scorpio, where to begin..  Well, let’s start with the featured header. It is a picture of purple chrysanthemums I took near my house. Notice how at first glance these scorpio flowers sporting scorpion fuchsia are out of focus, mysterious, difficult to get a fix on. Now move your laptop or device further away and notice how the image becomes clearer and better defined. This is part of the Scorpio nature. We are difficult to assess, but can become better known if you persevere and change your perspective. Now mind you, I planned to take a clear picture and it looked fine on my phone. But it translated differently and served me well to prove this point about Scorpios.

Girls and Women through Time

Yeah it’s me again, using all the Throwback Mercury mojo to bring you more blasts from the past. Libra is stirring me back to art again, with the help of my mother this time. My mother is a talented musician who always loved history and culture. She can play piano beautifully and can do so by ear, a trait she inherited from her father. She also sings very well.  She adored school  and was an excellent student, but was not permitted to go to college. Her brother was sent instead while she worked to help support her parents’ household. She still talks about this disappointment to this day. My mother has lived a very traditional life , going from her family home  straight to marriage and children. While she did work off and on, she never had a career. Both of her children – daughters, have advanced degrees and careers. Both of her grandchildren – girls, are clever, bright, inquisitive, and determined. One of them has been recognized for both her writing and her artistic projects!  My mom once dreamed of being a fashion designer. She loved to sketch, yet she has not drawn anything ( that I am aware of ) in ages.

While introducing both myself and my sister to the piano proved futile, her artistic passion carries on in me. It was her aunt and uncle who indulged me with art supplies and made me feel less alone in the world. My mother’s love of history and art came together in this coloring book she gave to me. I believe we both colored different dolls in the book. It was something we could do together.

While I have not seen the book since early childhood, I found it on the internet. This was not easy, since I did not recall the title or author. But clearly my tenacity paid off:

Which doll is your favorite?


I am so excited that I was able to bring this book brimming with joyful memories back to life. I often imagined myself wearing the exquisite period outfits. Some of my readers will chuckle to notice that the book included a native american doll as well!

My mother and I have little in common and she would wholeheartedly agree with me. (Her chart is predominantly fire and earth , featuring 4 planets in Aries and a Sun Mars Uranus Aries stellium.)  What we do share is creativity, addiction to books, a strong spirit and a kind heart. She also had the same complicated relationship with her own mother, who was more of a non-conformist. My grandmother, who may not have finished school, was also a voracious reader! Her North Node in Gemini lands precisely on my moon and she  used it well. She was such a whiz with cards and played a mean scrabble too.

I also honor the various roles women have enacted throughout history. Our diversity is our strength but our sisterhood is our birthright. We as women can do so much more united than divided.

Let’s care for one another.

 I am so grateful that the love of art is alive in me and my niece. I cannot wait to see how my nieces grow and develop into young women. They mean the world to me.  Please cherish the little girls in your life. They often grow up to become women who will birth others ( children, animals, ideas) into being.

Poetry ~ Trust in the Slow Work of God

Mercury retrograde, or what I now like to call Throwback Mercury, is a fine time to dig through your stuff ( literal and metaphorically). I am on an art kick lately and have been re-viewing my drawings from the archives. I have also retrieved materials from my 2005 awakening week at Pendle Hill. As many of my readers know, it was there that I experienced a very dramatic mystical experience. I am especially drawn to two prayers/poems that were part of the retreat I attended that week. This retreat was on Spiritual Discernment and I went there in part to find my calling. Nine years later and still looking…

I want to share one of those poems with you today. It is really a wonderful statement on my current struggle during this recent phase of be-coming.


Prayer of Teilhard de Chardin

Above all, trust in the slow work of God.
We are quite naturally impatient in everything
to reach the end without delay.
We should like to skip the intermediate stages.
We are impatient of being on the way to something
unknown, something new.
And yet it is the law of all progress
that it is made by passing through
some stages of instability—
and that it may take a very long time.

And so I think it is with you;
your ideas mature gradually—let them grow,
let them shape themselves, without undue haste.
Don’t try to force them on,

This piece  below has been with me for decades. I made it as either a teen or young adult. My sense is that I drew it while in high school. I am posting it here because it directly demonstrates my wildness, innocence, and passion. I aspire to recover these colors and add them to my present palette so that I can imbue them for eternity.

What I find curious is that my art during and shortly after the retreat did not match this level of intensity. Perhaps that is due to the life cycle process. I don’t really know. What I do know is we are all so much more than the sum of our parts ( or art). I am really happy I saved some of my work from youth. I drew and wrote all the time as a child and adolescent. I wanted to be a visual artist even before I fell in love with writing  and astrology. I may have been 4 or 5 years old. I vaguely recall the simple pleasure of color and patterns. I  actively delighted in the tactile play of finger paint and the soft pliability of clay.  Perhaps the predominant Libra energies are working their magic on my spirit, allowing me to honor the sacred power of beauty.  Art is Sanctuary.

This book also fits in with my Awakening story. I realize that it was not mentioned in the actual Awakening article, so here’s the scoop:

While on retreat, I found this book at Pendle Hill’s library. I wanted to buy it from their bookstore, but it was out of stock. I was very disappointed, but eventually let it go. I would get it another time. After James and I departed, I wondered around alone on the grounds before going home. I went back to the bookstore and outside the window was a large display shelf. On the shelf were several copies of CALLINGS facing me! The books arrived while James and I were together. I highly recommend this book. It is a great read ; rich in narrative, soulful and truly inspiring.

Recycling Mirrors


First a quick update:  The formal rejection letter arrived in my mailbox today and it leaves me sad and relieved. I prefer finality to ” suspended animation.” Now I am working on releasing this thought form so that I can move on.

Thanks to everyone who commented on my last post. Your demonstration of support warms my heart. With Throwback Mercury, I choose to wait for my words to appear before responding. Please be patient with me as I work on putting the pieces together.  I am also very pleased that several folks agreed to collaborate with me on my unfinished artwork. I am so grateful to have a platform where I can let my creativity soar without restrictions.

Now for something magical and whimsical and very “retro”. Back in March , a woman currently living in Canada ( but of Middle Eastern origin) found me and commented on one of my astrology posts. By “random” search, she came upon the site and discovered we are “astrotwins”. We are born just 6 days apart, the same year. We have maintained an email and FB friendship and compared notes on our lives. There are quite a few similarities between us. We have served as mirrors to one another.

She is an accomplished artist, among other things. A very astrologically astute, wise woman, she is highly  imaginative, well-traveled and very perceptive. She is a mosaic artist who specializes in using recycled materials to create new forms of beauty.

We live a few hours from one another and may have a chance to meet. My faith in soul connection and blossoming into a fuller expression of my Divine Self flourishes when encounters like this “just happen.” The past few days I have experienced many opportunities to see myself mirrored in the reflection of the other. What a truly potent vehicle for heightening awareness.

While I feel very vulnerable and bottomed out in a variety of ways, the sun is shining, summer exists in October, and we are never alone.


There are companions who love us while we await the next mosaic gateway to appear..

In June I had a dream with Justin Timberlake that I took to my Spiritual Director for examination. On the way home from our session, I heard his new song Mirrors on the radio for the first time. Welcome to my world where dreams often materialize, rarely as expected, filled with mystery and wonder :

Fill in the blanks, literally

It is a warm and rainy Wednesday in my corner of the world. This eclipse hit me so hard, I never saw it coming. Kundalini (or whatever ? ) left me with aches and pains and emptiness and some  mysterious cold ” thingy “.  My energy waxes and wanes. I find that music, candles, meditation, and Lee Harris seem to help mitigate the anxiety and my intermittent desire to just throw in the towel.

Caroline Myss said on Oprah that conscious beings know when to let go of anything that is not theirs to begin with. Well it appears that I will not be doing the “dream job” that I have spent most of my life preparing for. That means it was never mine to begin with.  To put it another way, does that mean every relationship, residence, business one spends extensive time in is theirs by birthright? I don’t actually understand the totality of her message, but I like the concept of recognizing what is worth pursuing and what is not. But isn’t a mind a terrible thing to waste?

How do you find what is yours?

I must admit that I feel quite foolish for believing that all my life was geared towards this one shot to apply most of my toughest lessons to the service of humanity. My north node in Virgo knows it has to earn money and serve. My south node in Pisces just wants to chill indefinitely.  Sometimes it is just easier to keep distracting myself with books, games, movies, etc to avoid this sense of inevitable loss. With so much emphasis in my Solar 12 house, what else can I expect?

So I created this exercise that hopefully is more than a mere distraction. It could be very exciting and lead to all kinds of openings. We shall see.

The picture above was created during my Awakening week in 2005. I worked on it at Pendle Hill and left it unfinished. I would like you to finish it for me and send it back to me for upload here. I don’t know how you will do this, but am certain there is a way to copy the image and add onto it ( I used markers and colored pencils).

I trust this invitation will reach the right people with the inclination to collaborate on this incomplete birthing of potential.
