The sun moves into the sign of Scorpio tomorrow, October 22nd. The fall foliage is just beginning to brighten up the landscape here in Phila. Finally some maroon and pumpkin hued leaves are joining their green and brown cohorts to transform the drab to the fab!
I am sharing this old post on Scorpio that was well received back in 2013. It has poetry, artwork, and astro-knowledge ; something for everyone.

Ahhh Scorpio, where to begin.. Well, let’s start with the featured header. It is a picture of purple chrysanthemums I took near my house. Notice how at first glance these scorpio flowers sporting scorpion fuchsia are out of focus, mysterious, difficult to get a fix on. Now move your laptop or device further away and notice how the image becomes clearer and better defined. This is part of the Scorpio nature. We are difficult to assess, but can become better known if you persevere and change your perspective. Now mind you, I planned to take a clear picture and it looked fine on my phone. But it translated differently and served me well to prove this point about Scorpios.
This post is not going to be technically oriented or objective in any way. This is litebeing – right brain style, so get ready! My intention is to describe what this season means to me and how I resonate with the Pluto/Mars vibrations. Yes it is all about me , because I am a true Scorpio and I want to share my personal associations with you today.
Dark purple: the hue of plum, my car , black currant in tone, aligning with the golden leaves outside my door, the world encased in a golden ray of light, luscious pumpkin, church bells, buried treasure, animal shelters, succulent squash, isolation rooms, pungent cranberries, weddings, woodsy mushrooms, explosions, meditation, dark red wine, candlelight, bittersweet chocolate, aged sharp cheese, crystal clear spring water, a stark, piercing, bright blue sky, deep silence, Led Zeppelin loud and raw, snappy autumn air, rapturous attraction at first sight, a blazing burgundy fire …
Burnt orange, raw garlic, seared meat on the grill, the first inhale of an unfiltered cigarette, stinging hot chilies, spiritual ecstasy, intricate mosaics, revenge, corruption, cobwebs, gunpowder, forgiveness, roaches scrambling up and down the walls, obsessive love, finger painting, hospices, moldy food, punitive rage, live improvisational jazz in a dark, smoky bar, New York City on 9/11, passing around a pipe filled with a beguiling pungent odor, piercing howls at 3AM, redemption, gripping depression coming for your soul……
Maroon, complex Indian curries, emergency rooms, holding cells, the scent of musk, Ouija boards, double espresso, penetration, last-minute reprieves, reckless angry sex, black velvet dresses, landfills, a searing passionate gaze, cancer wards, brothels, the ruins of Pompeii, pounding reggae, wilting red roses, shuffling tarot cards, crackling thunder,thick menstrual blood, half-dead creature on the road, feces, molten hot fudge blending with vanilla ice cream, sheer vulnerability, aching in the loins approaching climax, a newborn’s first breath…

Scorpio ~ ahhhhh…indeed that is a long ‘ahhhhh’…and rightly so, I think, to accompany such an unveiling. Reflecting once again on the heart of Scorpio leaves me still mystified by the indiscernible depths and mysteries that colour your purple mantle and warm each petal of your flower 🙂
I read someplace that the burning/revitalising Mars/Pluto vibration adds fire to every visceral, sensual, sensuous, and tactile experience that offers chance for the self to reclaim its own power through flame and impetuous passion? 🙂 Ahhhhh indeed!

Ooops….typo….I meant ‘impetuous passion’ 🙂 In being drawn by the impetus of mystery, I was impaired, impelled, and impetuous, and singed for my impetuosity. How ironic! A lesson learnt perhaps: more haste, less speed lol 🙂

How are you? I hope you have been well and enjoying this season. My solar return is next Sunday, a week after Sindy’s, but I reblogged the post to usher in the season of Scorpio ( Oct 22 for 2016, it varies). I was describing more the sign of Scorpio than myself, BTW. Don’t get too excited here, lol! We all have a place in out natal charts where Scorpio, Mars, and Pluto resides and this is where we can access the intensity, sensitivity, passion, etc. Taurus is the natural opposite and when we extend the polarity and combine both signs, you receive a pairing of the shadow with the glories of the material world….

Were you really presenting a delineation of the Scorpio heart without considerate reference to your own Scorpionic fire? 🙂 I think there is an awful lot of you within your thorough and complex list, and I find your honesty compelling reading.
I’m grateful as well for your brief explanation of Mars/Pluto, but am I to understand that it is the solidity, determination, and downright tenacity of Taurus that best utilises the energy and fire within to make passion manifest? Even if I don’t fully understand exactly what is meant, intuitively, I like the sound of that: a balancing to mystery and the mysterious with the darkness grounded in the real.
Thank you for asking after me. All is well, as I hope and trust it is for you? No doubt you’ll be looking ahead to your birthday, grateful to have another year’s worth of wisdom and insight tucked under your belt, and eager to make the most of the forthcoming 12 months. One wonders quite where your dreams will carry you, and where indeed life will take you. With all that Scorpionic fire burning brightly, surely the world is your oyster this coming year! Fare thee well Linda, sail far and wide, and who knows where you’ll find safe harbour. Upon which note, congratulations for having passed your probationary period with your employer. I imagine they know now what an asset they have found in you. So onwards and upwards, and don’t spare the horses in getting to wherever you need to go 🙂

Aww..thank you Linda..it is GOOD to be back. It does feel a little…hmm…can’t find the right word, but it does take some getting used to, to not feel guilty or bad that I don’t read and comment every day..and instead take my time to play catch up with my bloggy friends’ posts…I’m quite adaptable though, so I will get used to it and not do another disappearing act 😛
