What can Druidry offer in dark times?

This is a fascinating, informational post about druidry that is hopeful and practical. I am excited to know that forestry in my state is healing. I love the idea of focusing on the healed  in the midst of the healing process. This is essential now more than ever.

The Druid's Garden

Things seem broken right now. These last two weeks have been a very hard week for many people. The national conversation here in the USA grows more difficult by the day, and it seems nearly every nation is facing many kinds of serious issues. These challenges are happening concurrently at many levels—internationally, but also in communities we care about, in our families, in our homes. Things are tough. They seem tougher for many of us today than they were yesterday. Many of us fear that they will likely be even tougher tomorrow. This is the reality of industrial decline, the reality of the climate crisis before us.

The questions that I’ve had for myself, and my fellow druids is a simple one: what can druidry offer us in these dark times?

I’ve been thinking about the role of druidry in all of this, this question a lot, not only over…

Make Earth Great Again ~ Earth Day 2017

Disregard the 2017 in this reblog and apply it to the present. Earth is heart and the heart is breaking a little more each year. Let’s use our hearts more and love Gaia as a child loves a protective, nurturing, life-sustaining mother.

Happy Earth Day fellow earthlings and Be-ings!

litebeing chronicles

I adore Bill Maher and borrowed his tagline from last night’s New Rules segment as the title for this post. I do not think that Earth is not already great, but I do think it urgently needs extreme nurturing and collective respect. Sometimes a catchy slogan makes a difference. It did in the US presidential campaign.

While Bill’s rant is a bit satirical, he is a passionate environmentalist who often features activist scientists on his show. Check out this video and leave me your comments below:

Happy Earth Day!

We Otta Be Ottahs~

Many of you know that I am very fond of otters and have seen otter-like critters in my neck of the woods. I blog about them regularly and consider them such a blessing. I have not been able to take a picture of any as of yet. I consider them to be part of my spirit animal circle. Cindy has done a bang-up job here, bringing otter-mania to all of their fans. Please enjoy these gorgeous photos, taken with such loving care.

Cuz life just floats by.

Sea Otters live in close communities called rafts. Can you see the babies floating on their mamas? Hint: they are the brown fuzzy bumps with little faces resting on their mama’s bellies? (CLick to enlarge for better optics).

Like all communities with time on their hands, gossip can be a problem.
“If you say this one more time, Edna, I swear, I will cover my ears!”

A new human like me, is easily noticed.
“Who are you odd human, and why are you staring at me?”

Lavender to Support the Challenges of Change & Intense Times

I am really into lavender lately and want to pass on Tania’s lovely lavender post. Nature wants to help us heal ❤ and the aroma is incredible.

thanks Tania!

Tania Marie

These photos I took of lavender in the International Peace Garden were some of my favorite and partnered well with the essence of peace and sense of calm experienced and symbolized by this place we visited and received clarity of direction in our journey. And with the intensities and transitions many are experiencing, I felt to share about lavender again as one way to support self-nurturing and help you to relax into the flow of life more with ease and embrace through the intensity of energies, over-stimulus of things in the environment, or the challenges of change.

dscf9310

There are many ways you can use lavender, but no matter how you are called to you’ll find it’s nostalgia to bring to mind long summer days, nature’s magick, childhood memories, nurturing baths, tender moments, and of course our enchanting Faery friends.

However you bring some lavender into your experience, your life will increase in…

I Just Have To Tell You

Pink

I just have to tell you… ( in no particular order),

I miss you

I passed my three-month probationary period at work

Many stories about magical flurries occupy my head

and my heart

WordPress is not cooperating today ( damn Mercury retrograde, tehe)

Last week I suffered a concussion

Today I drew the 2 of pentacles, yet again

I acknowledged the message to take things just one at a time, and slooooooooooooooow down.

Please think of me and send healing energy as I continue to juggle and bounce back as best as I can.

Black Squirrel Morning

There have been a plethora of creatures afoot in my world lately. I woke up feeling peaceful this morning, immediately drew the shades and spotted a black squirrel. Here’s a beloved old article about our animal friends.

litebeing chronicles

Now that we are in the thick of the liminal season, I know Where the Wild Things Are. They are in my backyard and in my dreams. While I continue to seek the identity of my permanent animals totems and the rest of my ” Team”, I can always rely on the natural world to provide temporary guidance. With Dexter by my side and Jasmine before him, I am more solid, more kind, and more engaged in general. Creatures make me a much better person.

So I present you with a few recent sightings that come to bring me blessings, which I in turn, will share with you :

On a mid October Friday morning the energy was quite vivid, with plenty of animal magic. Every morning one of the first things I do is draw the shades in my dining room. They open to my backyard which is…

Re-introduce Yourself to Gaia ~ Earth Day 2016

Photo1148

I agree with my friend Sue Dreamwalker, Earth Day ought to be every Day. I wanted to create an original post, but am not really up to the task. So I came upon a solution while exploring some old material.

I am definitely more in love with Gaia than ever before. As I have become more awake, my appreciation has grown by leaps and bounds. Viewing Grounded was a revelation to me, so I am posting it again for my new readers. This film opened me up to new possibilities regarding the mystery of this magnificent planet.

During this intense full moon ( highlighting Taurus and Scorpio) and retro cycle ( Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto, and Mercury soon to follow) why not re-introduce yourself to our planet? Follow your inner guidance and discover how you can become more connected to nature. You’ll know what to do and where to go.

Listen for her call ….

Natural Medicine Healing and Wellness Summit

By Jina Lee [CC-BY-SA-3.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0)], via Wikimedia Commons

As is often the case, I am alerted by some unknown source to an excellent, free online series that as the Quakers say “speaks to my condition.” This happened  about a week or so ago. I signed up for the Natural Medicine Healing and Wellness summit, led by Dr. Murray. I only viewed a couple of videos and was not sure I would learn anything new or relevant. Then I watched Sayer Ji’s video on Breakthroughs in Natural Medicine. It blew my mind and shook me to my core regarding the differences between ” Modern” and ” Natural ” healing practices. The video was linked to a free E course on  Food Wisdom. This was also excellent and reinforced some theories I have had about the wisdom of plants and Gaia in general.

Yesterday I was determined to blog about this, but the Summit was over. I am usually on top of these things, but again, was not certain there was anything to recommend. Well, today they announced a free replay of the 3 most popular videos, including the talk given by Sayer Ji. It was crystal clear to me that now is the time to blog about this series. You do have to pay to access the material, since the summit is officially over. But it is truly worth it if you have severe and/or chronic health issues that are not responding to traditional interventions. Or if you want to expand your knowledge about the latest research on what we like to call alternative medicine.

Here is a small sampling of what I learned:

No one has been able to create a drug with curcumin that is superior to turmeric in its natural state.

Food is coded ( protein chaperones) so the nutrients know where to go in the body.

Flowers are natural mood elevators.

Chocolate ( dark variety) functions like manufactured statin drugs without the side effects.

I wish I had mentioned this earlier, but am hoping it reaches the people who will benefit. I cannot recommend the Sayer Ji material highly enough! He is the founder of greenmedinfo.com, which is  a treasure trove of information. If you are passionate about the magic of spices such as ginger and turmeric, you will love learning more about the latest findings of food as catalysts towards wellness and vitality.

Here is the link to the summit, where you can decide how to proceed. As some of my readers know, I am seeking new ways to address my health. While I am new to this quest, it is exciting how this information, yet again, fell into my lap. The same thing happened with the Shades of Awakening summit. With my Gemini Moon in the disseminating phase, I am  spiritually”contractually obligated” to pass on helpful information. It is in my DNA, pun intended. If you view Ji’s video, you will get the joke! Please take a look if you or someone you love needs to modify your lifestyle or wants to embark on a new relationship with your physical body.

You’re Earth-based in This Life

I really am enjoying this warm January day that followed 2 feet of snow just 1 week ago. As the Earth strives to find its way, so do we. Brenda’s post is very powerful and easy to absorb. Enjoy your day and love your-self.

Welcome to Brenda's Blog

Summary of Brenda’s January 22, 2016, channeled, 15-minute “Creation Energies” show at  http://www.BlogTalkRadio.com / brenda-hoffman:  Time is no longer linear, but elliptical. Even though some days fly by so rapidly you can’t remember what happened, other days are as before. Such is so because you’re no longer following the 3D linear pattern of you’re born and then you die. Your new pattern addresses and drops those baggage cars – not pieces – you collected for eons. Items that are at the small part of your elliptical time so your life holds more joy than fear.

#Blesstival ~ Behold Nature’s Mystical Call

Photo992

This post is part the Blesstival series happening at Jamie’s blog ~ Sophia’s Children. The purpose is to spread blessings through this season of ” Newness”.

I found my offering by Mira via random poetry process, using the book Love Poems from God by Daniel Ladinsky.

Nature is one of the ways that Spirit speaks to me. The beauty and subtlety get me every time. So it is no surprise that I discovered this piece to share with you, a blessing from the natural world.

A Limb Just Moved

You taught Your songs to the birds first,

why was that?

And you practiced Your love in the hearts of animals

before You created man.

I know the planets talk at night

and tell secrets

about

You.

A limb just moved before me,

the beauty of this world

is causing me to

weep.

Notice the planetary reference? I see this poem asking us to pay attention to nature in all its majesty and to remember our place in the circle of life on Earth. Take comfort in both its wisdom and ability to transport one back to Source.

I was unfamiliar with Mira before I opened the page to her poem. According to Ladinsky, Mira ( Mira bai) lived from 1498 – 1550 and was considered the most renowned female poet-saint of India. Apparently she was born a princess who was devoted to Krishna. She later became a rebel and champion of women’s rights. I think we would be friends!

To read up on Mira aka Meera,  please visit this site.

Thank you Jamie for creating this exercise. Love is my religion and blessings spread the love. Let’s be the love we want to see in the world.

NAMASTE
