Howdy litebeings! Happy New Aquarius Moon, Happy Mars in Aries, and Happy Chinese New Year ( Rooster Year) ! There is so much energy unleashed and most of it is in fire and air. Currently I have many planets in my 12th house ( including the new moon) so I embarked on a stay-cation. Many of my recent vacations over the past few years have been of this variety, simply because I did not have the funds to travel. But as an INFJ, it is imperative that I have periodic escapes from people, places, and stimulus overload. So I allow myself time to disconnect from obligations and stressful activities. Be aware this is a LONG entry, even though I left some material chronicling my activities out,

Thanks in advance to those who choose to read the entire post!

Pent-up emotions, fire and more: Thursday January 12th, the day before my last day of work, I noticed a vehicle with the word fire on it. The visual stuck with me. This happens often, where a word or phrase will leap out to me and make an impression. That evening I was preparing some loose herbal tea and I filled the kettle practically to the top. It boiled over and all the pilots on the stove went off. When I was unable to re-light them and smelled gas, I called maintenance. I was told I had to call 911. They sent over a fire engine and a team of firemen! I felt so foolish, but it was protocol. I link this with seeing the fire vehicle in the morning and also with an intensification of emotion.

Friday the 13th madness: Moving into my new position at work and relocating my office was more challenging than I imagined. I found myself to be very hyped and agitated. The day before vacation ( Friday January 13th) was when I decided to change offices and I was incredibly anxious. There is a circular path on the campus on which my office is located and after lunch I took a brisk walk around the track. It helped me clear my head, but I still managed to drop a box I was carrying in the hallway. The energy was so intense and I was about to short-circuit. pub domain

Astro-nuggets: The current transits have been brutal for me personally: Chiron square my moon , Saturn opposing my moon, and Pluto opposing my Mars have done quite a number on my emotional body and personal will. I have been feeling very aggressive and quite alienated, as if there is a wall between myself and other people.  I have engaged in some nasty road rage when provoked and distanced myself from a few people on Facebook. This nastiness and brashness is a blast from the past. I have not felt so moody in many, many years. I feel like I am held hostage in a state of perpetual PMS!

Knowing the astrology does help, but I think there is more to it. I have felt bombarded by the post-Election world where there is a clash between our highest nature and our darkest instincts. My old wounds around jealousy, righteous indignation, and competition have risen to the surface. I want to clarify that even at my least conscious, I only act out if provoked ( Mars in Cancer). I had hoped the stay-cation would give me the break I needed to administer self-care and address the flood of negativity.

So how did I spend my time? Well, thanks for asking! Here are the highlights of a week that was punctuated by grey skies, cold rain, and a power outage at my home. I envisioned this time as a 12th house hibernation where I would simply read, write, watch movies, and draw. It turned out to be less me-time than I had desired, but I did get to decompress a little.

Books I am reading: The Red Book Liber Novus by Jung, The Power of Intention by Dr. Wayne Dyer, and What if This is Heaven ? By Anita Moorjani.

I have just skimmed over the Red Book, savoring its majesty. I can tell I am in for a treat. I also glossed over What if This is Heaven by Anita Moorjani, not feeling it as much as Dying to Be Me, her initial book about her NDE. Most of my reading time was devoted to Dyer’s The Power of Intention. I will explain why later on in this post.

Women mentors: I had two meetings that week, one with my Spiritual Director and the other with my new clinical supervisor. I was able to address my feelings of isolation and disconnection with my Spiritual Director, who I have been working with for several years. My initial meeting with my new supervisor was a bit awkward, particularly because of the intense cold rain and the clamor inside the diner, but I sense we will form a solid relationship. I just have to take it easy and adjust to a different personality while navigating a new routine. We shall see how this plays out.

Animals on the Other Side, part II : It turns out that the live webinar with Danielle MacKinnon that I registered for was happening in the afternoon during one of my vacation days. I was not home for  the live streaming of Part I of Animals on the Other Side so I was glad the Part II coincided with my free-time. She encouraged us to email her questions prior to the program so I asked her about how our former pets guide us to pick new ones. She actually chose my question as one of the few selected, but it did not comfort me. What I really wanted was a reading and she chose other participant for those. The webinar confirmed that my grief over Dexter is far from complete and that I am stunned to realize he has been gone for about 18 months. It seems like only a few months, but it is moving towards 2 years this July. I still miss him so very much.

Tinkering with art: I started this piece from an adult coloring book weeks ago but finished it up right at the end of stay-cation. Using colored pencils was a somewhat novel endeavor for me, but I enjoyed the departure from pencil and crayons.

Films : Dream is Destiny, 20th Century Women . I viewed  Dream is Destiny at home. It is a documentary about Richard Linklater and it was not shown locally. He is my favorite filmmaker and this piece commented on his passion of playing with the concept of time. This is one of the reasons I find his work so compelling. I was going to see 20th Century Women, a film about a single mother during the 1970s,  after a sushi lunch with a friend on Inauguration Day. But the rain was relentless and I just wanted to get home. I plan to see it hopefully before it leaves the theaters. Arrival is another must-see when it “arrives” on On-Demand. The main objective is to not watch the inauguration. Mission Accomplished!

New 2017 practice: I had to do something about the anger, hopelessness and loneliness I have been experiencing. Nothing was getting through. The death of Paul, the drama at work, and the change in the US government was taking its toll on me. The acting out behaviors were a sign that I was out of balance.  It occurred to me that I needed to move the energy around. So I re-dedicated myself to the Create My Day ritual invented by Dr. Joe Dispenza. I first discovered him on the What the Bleep Do We Know? film around 2005. His work on using the Quantum Field is also featured in Wayne Dyer’s book The Power of Intention so I am reading Dyer’s book while watching this video each morning. The emphasis is on focusing on what you want and aligning yourself with higher vibrations in the process. One of my favorite Dyer quotes is ” If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Indeed!

My 12th house wounds have been controlling me and I am through with shadow-work. I have cleared enough for an eternity of lifetimes. This exciting approach combines science with spirituality in a way that research has shown to be effective. Sometimes you have to change it up. The week flew by and this lightning pace is the new normal. Practicing observer consciousness is my way through for now.

and finally….

High-tech self-discovery: Since all the planets are now direct, I decided to embark on an adventure that has interested me for over ten years. Around 2006-07, genealogy had begun to increase in popularity. In addition, DNA tests were made available to the public. While I was quite curious about unraveling more about my lineage, the price was quite high so I put it on hold. Now the tests are very affordable and the technology is more advanced. So I ordered a test from and it arrived yesterday! I am very excited to learn more about my origins. I will keep you updated as I discover more about my heritage. It is high time that I immerse myself in my passions and dreams.

If not now, when?

  1. Oh Linda what a start to your stay vacation.. 🙂 But the symbol of Fire.. Not surprising given what Lee said on his video in your previous post.. About Fire and Light!… 🙂 Chuckling.. But glad all was well..

Your Friday the 13th madness again so fits in with what Lee said.. About ancestral, past karmic circular patterns working their way out.

Your book choice is fantastic.. I read the Power of Intention and it’s a great read to boost and align our intentions.

I cannot believe it 18 mths since the passing of Dexter.. I so know that feeling of loss and I guess we never truly get over missing our beloved four-legged friends..

Your colouring artwork has a tranquil feel to it as its colours are blended so well Linda.. Love the finished result.

I want to see 20th Century Women when it is over here.. Arrival I have not seen but I have seen the previews, it didn’t seem to appeal somehow..

However I can recommend Lion.. A great film that had me in tears often throughout it.. I watched last week.

Speaking about changing energy around.. Have you thought of just altering around things within your home.. I often find just disturbing things and replacing things helps.. As well as just doing something unusual and out of our normal routine.. Like taking a different route to work.. Altering perhaps a walk you normally do.. Breaking habits I find a great energy booster.. As it allows New Energies in and the stagnant ones to go..

Oooooh and I am excited too to learn more about your genealogy too Linda..

Great Post.. And I loved it.. 🙂 And the Music.. ❤

    Love to you my friend
    Sue ❤

      Hi Sue,
It is so wonderful to notice how interested you are in each post and each detail! Your attention really means a lot to me, so thank you! I am learning to allow myself to regress a bit and keep adjusting to the next new wave. It is another chance to give myself the empathy and compassion I give to others. Matt Kahn speaks on this theme often. I try to be better and I often succeed, so why can’t that be enough? Lee Harris is another treasure and this particular energy update seemed like it was truly meant for me to hear.

I do follow the practice of moving the energy around a bit, in different ways. I did not expect to be home these 2 days and now am figuring out how to spend these unscheduled hours. Sometimes I notice a shift and other times I don’t. Great suggestion though 😉

      love and affection, Linda

  2. Interesting staycation Linda. I could certainly relate to some of the same things. I did get a really good vibe about your new position, even if initial meeting with coworker was awkward. I would like to read Anita Moorjani if time allowed. “The Red Book” huh? I bet it cost a pretty penny, I loved the art work, I posted a pic from it once.

I know you miss your baby kitty Dexter ❤ 😦 ❤

I think things are going to be bright for you ms. Linda. You have so much to give, and I think it will be appreciated.

    Love ❤

      Hi Sindy,

It was an interesting week with highs and lows. I purchased to abridged and affordable Jung Red Book, with alas, very few pictures. I figured I would buy the cheap version and if I love it, save for the expensive one. I am waiting for the right time to dive in. Had a dream about Dexter last night ( or the night before). He was living with someone else and very happy. He was healthy and looked just like Dexter! I still miss him so much, which may be why I have not adopted yet. How is your cat?

Regarding the job, the awkward meeting I wrote about was with my paid clinical supervisor who I hired to help me get the LCSW. I still have the same boss at my job because she runs both programs. I do like it better so far, less drama and a better work space and some interesting new clients. Thanks for sharing your intuitions about it and also your support!

      love, Linda

      1. ❤ A kitty could use your love. My kitty is good, spoiled but she still prefers being an outdoor cat. She has access to the garage. Is your job at a college campus?

No, a community mental health center on the grounds of a psych hospital with a few other buildings. It has lovely grounds though and is like a campus. But no classes, lol!

Hi Linda, not surprisingly, I’ve been feeling/experiencing similar things, with the fire and agitation. Esp the post-election stuff. I didn’t know about Anita Moorjani’s book. I will check it out! And Richard Linklater is my favourite too! Though I love him most for Dazed and Confused. 😉 Sending peace and hugs to us both! xo Aleya

      Hi Aleya,
You and I often find ourselves “in synch”, which is reassuring to me. I adore Linklater and Dazed and Confused was the first film of his that I viewed. I was stunned, really stunned, that someone made a film about high school in the 1970s that was so realistic, down to the clothes, arcades, etc. That is because he and I are the same age and he grew up like I did ( except he lived in Texas, which in different that Eastern US. I could go on and on about him, Check out the 2 docs on him ( yes 2 docs!) and you will not be disappointed. He is fascinating and quite enlightened

Sending peace and love back your way.
      Namaste, Linda

Staycation sounds good. I hope you got the rest which you needed.
I find interesting that so much of one’s emotional situation can be influenced by the astrological situation.

Working with the power of intention sounds good. I have experienced that things fall in place easier once there is intention and action involved (if the intention is aligned with what Source wants for me). I hope you will share some stories about how things work for you with this approach.

I like your colored pencil drawing. Looks a bit like a dream landscape.

      `Hi Karin,
In this case the astro transits are really impacting me strongly and directly. This is not always true. Some transits they may impact others with similar charts do not effect me. It is complicated and best researched via life experience. I intellectually embrace the intention practice. However I am struggling with the implementation. More study and practice is needed here. Life is very busy and pressured so I am having difficulty focusing. But I will prevail hopefully.

Thanks for your appreciation of the art. It is a page from an adult coloring book. Now I am having some clients use them as well.

I will share some stories on intention when they arise. Thanks for the suggestion and your support.

      hugs, Linda

  6. Dear Linda — I commend you for taking a time out and doing the best you could to nurture yourself at this time of intense transition in your job-life. You are a “sensitive plant’ who needs some special care through the winter (whether seasonal or psychological winter.) So bringing yourself indoors while the weather pelted icy rain was a kind strategy.
I just love Joe Dispenza — found him in What the Bleep also. I remember his Create Your Day exercise and appreciate the movement toward intending those things we want to show up rather than dissecting the things that haven’t worked or are not working.
I’m very much enjoying my new, smaller blogging community on WordPress. I’m following only a few sites this time and it’s much easier to keep up with the reading and commenting. I send you love for your continuing journey. These are definitely NOT times for beginners and according to my sources, NONE of us on the planet now are beginners, no matter how beginner-like we feel or look. Hang in here, we’re rounding toward Home. Much love, Alia

      Hi Alia,

What the Bleep was a game changer for me and I was lucky to hear Joe lecture in person. He may not be the most dynamic speaker but his ideas are groundbreaking. As my abilities increase it seems like my physical body requires more care. Or maybe it is simply aging. I cannot get away with neglecting my health or taking it for granted. Just like the planet we live on, it needs tending.

If we all have lived so many times and in so many universes, realms, etc, why oh why is it so difficult to grow? Feel free to lay it all out for me 🙂

      love, Linda

      1. Throughout the Pleiadian teachings, as channeled through Barbara Marciniack, they keep telling us to “love our bodies and the Earth — for they are the same.”
I definitely relate to my body needing more care (esp rest) as I get older. However, I am meeting much younger people who are feeling exhausted due to the transitional energies pounding the planet right now. So whatever works, is my motto and sometimes that means Advil and sleeping aids.

Nice to get to know you better, Linda. 🙂 I now also understand a little bit about why I scared you with that one email. INFJ’s and ESFJ’s can have a hard time, especially because I am also very assertive. But we do have the F and the J in common which is probably the reason we can communicate at all! LOL

I don’t usually pay enough attention to the planetary placements. I just don’t know enough to interpret them rightly. *sigh* Perhaps one day. I do know that my hormones are cray-cray right now (pre-menopausal) and it has been affecting my sleep and intensifying my in-born moodiness. (I just sighed for everyone who has to deal with me. Poor thangs.)

I enjoyed this post. It did not feel like a long read. Have a blessed rest of the month!

      Hi C,
So glad you are enjoying learning more about me. My reaction to your email ( which I prefer to remain private) has less to do with my Briggs Myers type and more to do with being surprised. Most Scorpios don’t like surprises! I do not encounter many S types( that I am aware of) but I think we communicate well,

Astrology is very complex and requires a strong desire to study and strong analytic skills. Don’t worry about it! So glad you did not find this post long winded. Sometimes I can only digest shorter content.

      take care,
