Fox and Friends

Happy Blue moon to all! It has been a minute since I posted. I believe I be in the midst of a spiritual activation which is requiring more time for reflection and rest. I am excited to share a bit about what is beginning to emerge. This full moon is a perfect time to do so, as the Gem Sag lunation is aligned with my natal IC / MC axis and squaring my nodes and Pluto placement. It is a time of expansion and recalibration for me. With transiting Uranus moving closer to my IC, excitement and overwhelm begin to build.

At the same time I am contemplating accepting a new totem into the fold, the fox! As is often the case, I did not see this coming. My relationship with fox has been primarily neutral. Back in the 1970s foxy was a term to describe being attractive so foxy took on a whole new meaning. Last fall a client shared with me a story about a fox in her yard. She took it upon herself to introduce a video of the fox that she recorded. I was so curious about this as it may have been my first encounter with a fox.  Shortly thereafter I was noticing that fox was entering my field. One of the first images was on my birthday as part of a daily desk calendar.

Notice there are two red foxes, which synchs with my natal moon in dualistic Gemini. The header image arrived just a few days ago in my mailbox. It is an ad for a residential community but I saved it becasue of the foxes. Oddly enough, I grew up near a Fox Hollow housing development, so maybe it is a common name.  Here are a few more images :

This last image was taken today off my laptop lockscreen. See the date!  I also have noticed fox on Facebook a few times and most likely other places on tv and online. I like the deep red variety especially. Fox energy has to do with adaptation, craftiness, and shapeshifting. According to the book Animal Speak, the red fox in particular is quite powerful as a totem in its ability to utilize invisibility and shapeshifting in a magical way.  I do not know if I need at times to be  more visible rather than less, but we shall see. I tend to attract shapeshifters into my life, which is not surprising as I resonate so strongly with Neptunian energy. I certainly would like to be more adaptable. This mutable full moon certainly encourages this type of action.

I really have not been in the market for a new power animal , but perhaps Source has other ideas. I used to see myself as magickal  but not recently. It seems that my energy has become depleted over the past few years. However I notice that experimenting with locations and  life forces improve my vitality. For example, Starbucks and Whole Foods are part of my weekly routine. Over time my disenchantment with the local outposts has grown. I have started driving just a few minutes longer to a different locale where both are part of a shopping center. The vibration is so much brighter. Even the CVS is chill and less frenetic. The quality at this Starbucks is superior and the mood is lighter at this Whole Foods, The bakery selection is fresher also. It occurred to me also that the drive is beautiful. The scenic route is parklands and woods all the way through. My spirits are lifted by having a taste of green. Oh how I miss the nature of my old neighborhood. Driving just a few minutes away brings me back ti where my soul sings.

Maybe this is a form of adaptation that fox has brought to me. Another insight I received today was the blessings of a soul family wherever they reside. For years I would lament about all the upheaval  I have felt moving so much as a child.  Then it would be all the partners and friends who would relocate far away and/or constantly be traveling the globe. Abandonment issues would be reactivated and unleash grief and pain. Watching a You Tube podcast today with Buddha Betty has helped me see it differently.  She had a powerful NDE which led to her spiritual awakening. She has made the interview circuit and now works as a healer of sorts. Betty is so cool because she is so badass! We could all learn so much from her bravery. She spoke on this episode about finding her soul family. She relayed the message that we are all positioned where we need to be and that the internet has made it possible for soul family/ tribe members to find each other. This naturally led me back to blogging here back in early 2013. So many people came out of the woodwork to meet me. It is thirteen years later and so many of you remain part of my life. Most of my WP pals live hundreds or thousands of miles away. Very few live close by. I often envisioned taking a long road trip to meet as many as I could. While that still may happen, I am making peace with the truth that I do not have to do anything other than just be open. I do not have to necessarily be in community in person. Lately most of the people I see regularly in person I rather not see so much.

I do not have any conclusions about this but am so grateful to have been rewarded by taking the chance to write online. This openness is the key. Please share your thoughts on soul family, fox energy, or whatever comes to mind.  Community is everything!
