Please start here to read Part 1.

I am adding a brief Epilogue to Part 1. While I did not directly address it, I believe Original Rick was also experiencing soul recognition in a way that suited him. Looking back, I am surprised he shared a bit about why he liked me because he was a man of less words, and passive aggressive in temperament. He often described himself as sensual rather than sexual, which I am not buying. However as a person with a watery chart, he did have strong intuition and perception. He probably picked up my energy from this hug and made a determination based on that.

Part 2

When I was in my thirties my job selected me to get a Master’s in Social Work as part of the Employee Education Program ( EEP ). I applied to Penn and Bryn Mawr and was accepted at both. I chose Bryn Mawr because I wanted a more bucolic small college experience. Also Bryn Mawr was geared towards those wanting to become therapists. My second year I was allowed to choose an internship outside of my organization. I had applied for a position at the Sanctuary Program years ago and did not hear back. Sanctuary was an internationally known Inpatient Trauma unit. It was controversial in its approach and highly regarded. I was in the Management Track and wanted to learn how this program was run. The ay of my interview I could not speak. I had laryngitis and had to reschedule. I was worried I may lose the placement but had no choice. i was given a new date to come in for a meeting. Just like in Part 1, as soon as I saw this man I froze. I forced myself to answer his questions but internally I was overwhelmed. He was simply beautiful in my eyes and it seemed like I knew him.  I never saw his picture and was not familiar with his name. He was a bit older  and had a Virgo sun. He talk me about his love of sailing and that he had a boat. I imagine him as a sailor in the song Brandy that I liked. I worried that I would not be able to work with him because of the pull. I got the job and he was the program manager so I would report to him. One of my friends was the other student but for reasons I forget, she transferred out. She was replaced from a twentysomething East Indian American woman. In a team meeting he mentioned how beautiful she was and that bothered me. However she had a different supervisor and limited sonct with him.

Joe was also a therapist and he was very astute. I sensed he did not enjoy the administrative duties. Most of the women drooled over him and he did enjoy that. I do not think he was egotistical but all that admiration can be powerful. He was divorced and I think he was seeing a younger protegee who was married. This is a hunch I got. I focused on my work but had to say I enjoyed my time there. I worked during breaks and other times I was not required to work. I just liked being around Joe. I had no agenda as it was inappropriate to go there. But I noticed how he responded to me. I will offer a few examples.

One of my colleagues had a birthday around the same day as me. I know this keeps coming up on the blog but it is a fact. At the meeting that day ( my actual birthday), there was a celebration for her. It made me uneasy. Later that morning I told him it was my birthday. Shortly after he told me and the other student to cancel our lunch plans. He invited the clinical team to a lunch at a local Indian restaurant. He did this just for me. he never mentioned my birthday but it was obviously his motivation. As an aside there is the Indian connection. The other supervisor was married to an East Indian. The other student was East Indian. Joe and a few others adored Indian food. We went there all the time it seemed. My readers know I am all about Indian food and that I have a past life connection to India.

Another example is Joe invited me to many off grounds meetings and events. He decided to travel to Bryn Mawr just to meet with my field instructor and myself. He also wrote me a ridiculously glowing evaluation that I did not deserve. It was so over the top. What also became apparent is that he treated us differently this year. In other words, the others would come up to me and say things, like Joe never bought flowers for the students before, etc. I realize he may have been attracted to the young student but he did not take her out for her birthday or write her up an incredible evaluation.

He gave great advice and i learned a lot. Did I mention i had a boyfriend during more of this year? He was an astrologer. I had him do charts for Joe , which was wrong. I was much more attracted to Joe unfortunately. At some point i asked him for his birth data. What do you know, he had Cancer Rising.

Our connection eventually soured towards the end of the year. But it did not sour my time there. He rarely siad no to any idea I floated and I was able to accomplish quite a bit. Years later our paths would cross. He recognized me and said ” you  havr such a distinctive voice .” I was never told that by anyone, Joe’s ex wife is  a powerhouse in the Phila area and is known around the world. She has written many books and is also a University instructor and remained a Psychiatrist for many decades. I was able to interview her for my final paper because of Joe.

I will never know what exactly he felt or why I was so drawn. I am really glad no lines were crossed. However I began to believe that I have an otherworldly link with Cancer Rising men.

Next Up: Part 3, the final act.
