Better Things

Tonight the song Better Things came on at the episode of a very intense tv show I was watching. It reminded me of this post and I began to tear up. Looking at where we we have travelled between the date of this post, March 13th and now, I can see that I had no idea how long or emotional this life interruption would be. But I still hope we can all realize a reality built on Better Things.

Before composing this post I took a shower, needing to wash off all the negativity residue.

I began to ponder what I actually believe about the planet today :

” I tend to be paranoid as a Scorpio but used to be skeptical of conspiracy theories and the theorists themselves. Yet, look at the world especially since 9/11. Hey, what about before I was born like the Holocaust and all the World Wars and so on. We really have not evolved much, or is it all simulated?”

Then my thoughts drifted here :

” Matt Kahn spoke so brilliantly about why some people don’t hear their guides. I remember a workshop I took where I set aside shower time as a safe space for Spirit to be with me so be quiet and listen. ”

Then this line from a song kept repeating in my head. I could hear part…

Musings ~ Tornado

Another day in Oz, another spirited reblog. More new stuff soon, I promise! Enjoy this 2014 offering about tornados.
love ya and welcome to all my new readers and new followers ❤

litebeing chronicles

I have been putting pressure on myself to write about the imminent eclipses and cardinal cross that will make this April unlike any other. I want to give my readers what they want and put my personal stamp on these celestial turning points. Yet I am too busy feeling the energies to actually put 2 coherent thoughts together!

So for now I am putting that aside to write about TODAY. How do I describe today?

wikimedia free domain

Yes, today is a tornado. I woke up after a restless night with major digestive issues ( nuff said). My body is still healing from surgery and Dexter is improving but not back to baseline yet. I had a meeting this morning in a part of the city we call The Great Northeast. I was exhausted and overwhelmed after the meeting and longed to get home. As I made my way around this part…

Returning Home : Part II – Italian Cathedrals, Updated Edition

While I wish my Italy photos were digital, sadly my trip was pre-internet. Thinking of my beloved Italy, especially the Lombardy region ~ Milano, Bergamo, San Pellegrino, Lake Lugano, Pavia, Lake Garda, and the entire region, where I spent the majority of my time. Wonderful people, sumptuous beauty, and yummy food!

Update:  Please enjoy some new photos added for your viewing pleasure …..

Sometimes traveling somewhere distant can take you right ” home.” I was incredibly fortunate to spend a few magical weeks travelling throughout Italy. As an Italian American , spending some time in the land of my ancestors helped me appreciate some of the origins of my love of food, art, history, and la dolce vita.  I was transported to a realm Eckhart Tolle calls spaciousness while visiting cathedrals. Words can barely describe how I feel when I am in the presence of these breathtaking works of art so I will let the images speak to you.

A map of my spiritual journey

I am guided to share Karin’s lovely post about her journey. Karin’s perspective adds a unique, nuanced dimension that makes an excellent addition to one’s understanding of spiritual awakening.

much love on this Solstice and all -ways, Linda

Spiritual Awakening

Is there a map for the spiritual journey? There are maps for every phase in life. When kids come into puberty, we teach them what is going to change in their body. When a woman is pregnant, she is taught how pregnancy, labor pain and childbirth unfold.

But what about a map for the spiritual journey?

I searched and found that there are already many maps out there. And they differ not only in the metaphors they use, but also in the emphasis which they give to the single phases and milestones of the spiritual journey. No wonder, because the curriculum of life is highly individualized.

So, I decided to draw a map of my own journey and add it to the number of already existing maps. And even though everyone’s journey is different, I still hope that some readers can relate to my observations.

When I look back at…

Answer the Call

Close to five years later, this video is still on point.
Feeling low, agitated, frustrated, hurt? Listen to the message, it is ON!

I am in love with this video. It is a rap ascension video. Yes, you read this right! It is like no-thing I have ever heard.  It latched onto my heart and my soul grinned in agreement. Then he mentioned being a Scorpio!

Enough said. Time to listen.

Undone

Hi litebeings,

As promised, I am back. But sadly, I could not find time or energy to complete my draft for publication. You could say I have become a little undone. Or perhaps a bit obsessed with the Amazon Prime tv series Undone. I somehow wound up on Amazon Prime and seemingly found this show I knew nothing about. I watched the entire series in one sitting ( while recuperating from another GI episode)  and was completely captivated.

Yeah, it was that good.

Check out the trailer:

This sci-fi semi-animated series turns out to be considered one of the best new television shows of the season. Stunningly beautiful, witty, and unpredictable, I am surprised I had not heard of it on social media.  It is about many things but mostly leaves the viewer wondering if  Alma, the main character has a mental illness or is spiritually gifted. Sometimes I wish I could view my life this way, fast forward to the end to see how it turns out. However, Undone will be filming a second season, so both my life trajectory and this spectacularly mind-bending storyline will both remain mysteries. I find it quite interesting that I wound up watching this amazing show given that I am fascinated by this particular topic.

Maybe I am spiritually gifted, or am I just exhausted?

Neptune Retrograde ~ End of the Line

Happy Neptune Retrograde! Yes, another re-tread but with an update. I wrote this post about 1 year ago. Fast forward to now and I am also working in addictions, doing groups, with mostly males. I reinstated the Friday music exercise with a few adjustments. The interpretations of this transit remain the same. Go with the flow, slow down, and find your internal GPS.

love to all, litebeing

litebeing chronicles

This has not been an easy time, but when has it ever been easy? While  transiting Jupiter retrograded back on my natal Sun over the past few days, I spent most of the time physically ill and/or exhausted. Astrology is complicated and sometimes transits do not show up in a standard way. The late Donna Cunningham wrote about this topic and postulated that often astrological transits trigger internal events, even when it looks like they ought to be external.

I am not certain, but what I do know is how grateful I feel when the pain subsides or when I am able to just let go and be with the pain. How can we know sweet without bitter, light without dark? In the material world, duality is here to teach us the range of creation. Lately, I have noticed that more nudges have appeared, bringing into focus the complexity of…

How Am I Doing? ~ Mercury Direct Neptune Retro Wayward Pines Edition

I stumbled upon this post while searching my archives for Neptunian material. With Chiron at the tail end of Pisces and  Mercury conjunct Neptune in Pisces this is truly a time for profound healing and kissing the familiar goodbye. Cry, dream, create, sleep, pray,  play music, imagine with abandon, meditate, make love, let go and let God.

blessings, litebeing

Photo607I could be grocery shopping right now. But I am here with AC blazing on a Friday afternoon. We are having a heat wave and this new development took me by surprise. Everyone has been talking about the intense Mercury Neptune energy. Honestly for me it is like a regular day at the office ( when I actually went to an office.) Translation: I have Neptune Sun Mercury conjunct in Scorpio ( a stellium) so my mind naturally rides the waves of hyper-imagination, empathy, fantasy, and susceptibility to deception or illusion.

Having said that, I still am taking life slowly and simply for a few more days, focusing more on the inner journey and escapism entertainment. I am really enjoying this new Fox show Wayward Pines. I will not give away the plot twist but will say how wonderful it is to see Matt Dillon back on-screen and…

Returning Home Part VII: – Art Therapy at Philadelphia Museum of Art

photo1275

This is the next installment in the Returning Home series where I shine a light on places that accelerate my transcendance and assist in restoring my inner peace. Given the recent news of the Trump upset presidential victory, I go to my love of art as a way to get back to my “happy place”.

I visited the Phila Museum of Art ( aka the Art Museum) for my birthday. I have been there numerous times over the years and it is a gorgeous building that houses extraordinary art. I have not considered it to be one of my “power places” per se, but I have found my visits to be inspiring, soothing, and occasionally transformative.

The current draw is  Paint the Revolution, the Mexican modernism exhibit which features the works of Rivera, Kahlo, and others. While I did enjoy this presentation, I was totally enthralled with the redesign of the South Asian galleries. They did a bang up job of re-envisioning a treasure trove of architecture, jewelry, artifacts, and much, much, more. I was able to take a few shots with my cellphone, which apparently is ” a thing”. I had no idea visitors were allowed to do this.

 Please enjoy:

While South American and South Asian cultures have little in common, I relished their contrasts and the emotional resonances that were provoked within. I semi-randomly assembled a mix of both collections to display here, including a gorgeous mandala as the header image.  An unexpected delight was this partially hidden Sufi manuscript exhibit that was converted to an animation piece. Entitled Disruption as Rapture, within about five minutes my higher self was dissolving into the ethers. It has been quite some time since I experienced a dissolution of self. Pretty cool. With a name like Disruption as Rapture, this “performance art” certainly depicts how one can thrive during these uncertain times.

Musings ~ The World is Conspiring in Your Favor

Hello fellow litebeings,
I used my random blog oracle just now and arrived here. This particular post really encapsulates many of the concepts and attitudes that I am currently examining. I invite you all to read again and join in the discussion.

PS: Just visited twitter and today is Ascension Day. Happy Ascension Day!

litebeing chronicles

UPDATE: As often happens in my world, synchronicity abounds. I just discovered today ( 11-2-14) that my local meetup group is having its monthly Saturday Discussion on Ascension. The leader said they have never covered this topic before and is bringing in a special speaker. If you are local and want to know the details, please email me. I hope to attend and gather more information and engage in some meaningful discussions. I am so grateful that my life is so graced with synchronicity, especially when the big questions come to me without any easy answers!

As a recovering paranoid pessimist, I work very hard to “re-frame” my thoughts and my expectations. This is much easier to for me to do with others in my role as a therapist than for myself. I was raised with the motto ” Never Trust Anybody!” and I began to internalize it early…
