Film Review ~ Time is Art

Time is Art: Synchronicity and the Collective Dream

This documentary, directed by Katy Walker Mejia and Joel Mejia and written by Jennifer Palmer and Katy Walker Mejia, tells of one woman’s journey of a life-altering experience when she is “summoned” to her aunt’s deathbed.  This event shifts the main character’s path dramatically. She transforms from a secular worldview to a heightened spiritual awareness via a series of mysterious synchronous happenings.

This film is relatable and accessible for anyone interested in the spiritual path. I enjoyed the visual feel of the piece, as well as interviews with a diverse mix of healers and thought leaders. I  found the cinematography stunningly beautiful and very dreamlike in presentation.  Jose Arguelles and Carl Jung are often cited in interesting and novel ways. Telepathy is described as distant empathy and may be behind many synchronicities. It is also an alternative explanation that deserves consideration.

I particular liked this theme: Time is Money vs Time is Art: The film suggests that the planet will evolve significantly when time is measured not by salary or what we charge, but by what we create. Imagine a world where we are rewarded for being the creators we truly are.

There is a sequel on the horizon so I would certainly view the initial project now! I had my own synchronicity while viewing the film. I recall a vivid dream the night before about Native American spirituality that connects with a key ayahuasca sequence. Once this epiphany emerged, I laughed inwardly with a peaceful knowingness.  This realization demonstrated yet again how potent synchronicities can be!

Please see the film and let me know what you think! Visit this link to access the film for rent or purchase and this link for more Time is Art events.  You are in for a real treat!

The Liteness of Being

Hey litebeings! I have so much to process and so much to share. In the meantime, this re-blog will give you a taste of what is to come!

much love, Linda

litebeing chronicles

A while ago I hinted at a new post where I would describe my emerging intuitive process. I am ready to do so now, with the awareness that this may have to be re-imagined at a later date. Somehow I know it is important for me to put my thoughts down and share them with you, before I forget… Do you know what I mean? Have you ever felt that way yourself?

Here is a soundtrack to accompany my musings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-HLxpWGCzc

It is the truly interesting how subtle my guidance is most of the time. Since my goal is to expand my awareness and notice as many signs as possible, “capturing” each experience seems like a good idea. What I have recently pondered is that these instants are more real then “ordinary” routine living.

Here’s an example: For me, meeting people in odd places and hearing songs that are connected…

The End of the World As We Know It

Just ‘randomly” deciding to read this evocative post is a synchronous reminder that I will soon be publishing my review of the intriguing film ” Time is Art”.

Dontcha love when that happens?  Enjoy the article and stay tuned!

Winging with Whitehawk

http://www.13lunas.net/eventos/estrella/valum_votan.pngI’ve mentioned here before that back in the 80’s I relocated to Boulder, Co, and joined the core team that created the global Harmonic Convergence event, as dreamed into manifestation by visionary artist and Mayan “son,” Jose Arguelles.

That was my earliest exposure to Arguelles, and to this day I hold him in a warm heart-space of respect, while also admitting I’ve not yet fully wrapped my mind around his whole cosmology. Still – I luvs me a good visionary 😉

The phrase time is art comes from him. His ideas are evocative and their time for ripening is, I believe, upon us. I’m feeling the higher frequencies and my life is taking a creative upswing. (Body still trying to adjust and doing some complaining about “coming along on the ride,” but the spirit keeps encouraging the biology.)

Crossing Over the Psychic Highway

Around the 1st or 2nd of March, I am listening to the radio during my morning commute. Business as usual. I am only partially tuning in to the announcer’s comments. He is discussing the next clue for a contest. That gets my attention as I became a bit curious. He said ” Answer all five correctly for your chance to win free tickets to see John Edward in Philadelphia. ” John Edward, the medium? Now I was more than curious!

I did not expect to win any tickets, but wondered when John Edward was coming to town. March 11, it turns out, was the magic day. That is a little over a week away. I check out the website and tickets are still available. Wow, I may actually do this.  I have been interested in John Edward for many years, having watched  his Crossing Over TV shows and interviews. I would scan the TV audience and imagine being there, receiving a random reading. He is not bad to look at, and really down to earth. Not only that, he credits himself on the ethics of the metaphysical profession.

I was amazed that I was led to this point. It is now Friday, March 3rd and I am sending out feelers to family and friends. No one is able to go with me. I keep trying to figure out if I am supposed to go. The tickets are not cheap and I do not know if I want to go alone. I settle myself down and ask for specific guidance. If I get a sign I will order a ticket.

So I am watching television, keeping myself open. I am listening to Bill Maher, as I do most Fridays. He is doing his “New Rules” routine, which is where he introduces images to accompany his satire. The topic is finding Liberals who can battle as hard as the Conservatives. He discusses bringing back people who may misbehave but kick Progressive ass. He goes on to suggest a candidate who  was a huge proponent of government – backed healthcare in 2008. The person’s picture appears on-screen: John Edwards! He was a popular Democratic Senator who had some excellent ideas but was morally distasteful. He is clearly not John Edward the medium, but their names are almost identical and Senator Edwards is not someone often mentioned anymore in the media.

I got my sign!

I marveled at my fortune, albeit briefly. My intuition has been amping up recently, and the more I listen, the more data that I receive. Just Friday morning in fact, I got a message from my mother via dreamtime. In the dream I am awakened by a phone call without any ringtone. I hear my mother’s voice a few feet away coming out of the receiver. I pick up the phone and she tells me to be careful driving to work. I see a vision of a dark rainy road. I tell her not to worry because I am calling out today. A few minutes later I wake from the dream and it is time to get ready for work. I review my dream and take it as a warning to stay home. I call out sick and go back to sleep. Thank you mom!

I was beginning to feel very nervous yesterday morning. The fact that the trains were not running did not help. How could I meditate on my dead relatives and pets while obsessing on how to get downtown? I didn’t, that’s how. I became focused on tracking the transportation agency’s twitter account instead. Thankfully service was restored because it was frigid yesterday and I did not want to drive into town on the first day of the Flower Show. It is one of the biggest draws to the downtown area so the city will be totally congested with tourists.

The birds began to take flight in harmony as I drove off to the train station. This was not lost on me at all. I arrived early enough to get a quick lunch. The historic Reading Terminal Market was filled to the brim and I had only a few minutes to gobble something down. Let me tell you this entire process was very harried, from beginning to end.  All of a sudden I get this thought about a gyros sandwich. I find the stand and,  lo and behold, one sole stool is empty! I jumped on the stool and ordered quickly. I was surprised I was able to find a seat with no line in this congested conglomerate of chaos.

So I get to the theater and find my seat, The energy is negative, despite the obvious sage – smudging. I am clearly excited and nervous. Here I am living my dream, yet all alone.  The name Linda came up often. 5 people were chosen to ask questions and one of them was Linda. Early on he mentioned a L name in the reading. He said ” Lou or Louise, but not Linda. ” When he uttered not Linda, I knew I would not be called on.  And I was correct.

And yet, I felt tuned in with John as my name came up repeatedly during the two hours. Nowadays,  Linda is not a popular name. There was also a reference to my favorite uncle, long ago deceased. He specifically said in the midst of another reading ” Uncle Joe”. What was important that he said Uncle Joe, not just Joe. John Edward often referenced how what is said for one person may apply to many, and he weaved in readings all across the audience, from one party to another, It was fascinating to watch him work. At the end of the event, there was time for a few more questions. I did not have a questions so I didn’t raise my hand. But the woman next to me did and they called on her. So John was looking at me while she spoke. I knew it.

I highly recommend seeing him if you are interested in contacting a loved one. He is very wise and emphasized the power of energy work and implored everyone to become more educated about the workings of energy. John was impressive, offering information that was unexpected and quite specific. I enjoyed watching the audience member’s reactions and comments regarding how they grieved and who they loved. It was a very moving and humbling sight to behold.  He also flubbed a bit, showing he is human and fallible in this material world that we call Earth. He said teaching is his main mission now. I admire his dedication to helping others navigate the quantum world.

While I still desire to connect with the departed and get specific information from the other realms, it was not meant to be. I wonder why I was led so carefully to be at this event. I do not know. But what I am sure of is that signs and messages are everywhere and what you visualize you can realize.

Hey, look what I found in my reader!
This is for Arlene, a blog about cheesesteaks and the Magic Gardens.

What are the odds I would see a post like this just 4 days after visiting the Magic Gardens? I was searching for cheesesteaks on the WP reader and this appeared.

Magic, pure magic.
A winning combo Philly style, where the magic happens…

Trouvaille Devotee

A few weeks ago I took a trip to Philadelphia to visit some friends who attend Temple University. Most of the times I’ve visited the city, my adventures have not strayed far from a typical tourist itinerary—meaning bus tours with an automated narration of the city. When I visited Philly this time, I was offered an unfiltered look at the city.

The first adventure of the day was catching the subway to our destination: South Street. Here’s the thing, I can navigate the DC Metro, specifically Metro Center, and the Baltimore Lightrail with great ease, but for some reason, the Philadelphia subway system was beyond me. I recommend going with someone knowledgeable of the area if your traveling in Philly. Or else you’ll be standing at the maps in the station with a clueless expression on your face. I did that till my friend’s brother attempted to explain the system…

A Whole New World?

By Anne Dirkse (www.annedirkse.com) (Own work) [CC BY-SA 4.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0)], via Wikimedia Commons

Many have prophesied that one-third of our planet would be aligned with fifth dimensional consciousness by September 28, 2015. This is called the 1st wave of ascension.  I do not know if I feel any different. My experience of time and space has been altered for quite some time. According to Matt Kahn and others, this is not an intellectual exercise. It is all about the heart.

One way that I perceive insights is by noticing or attracting novel tidbits from pop culture. The internet is typically the medium that transmits these nuggets towards my awareness. Music and movies are two of my go-tos and this gem via Facebook got my attention. The film Aladdin is going to be released in digital format soon. To celebrate this new edition, the original singers from the film reunited on Good Morning America to sing A Whole New World. I am including the video here in the hope of encouraging people to listen. I am in love with this song and it radiates love and otherworldly bliss. I was blown away when I first heard the song and I still feel the same today.

Now that Mercury has gone direct, we can move our attention to other events. I am glad it is mostly behind us, but this cycle was a minor disruption for me. I felt more of the typical slowdowns a few weeks prior to the Mercury station. Maybe that’s just how I roll.  What about you?  How are you doing? Are we moving into 5D? What does that look like? How does it feel? Does it even matter?

It is not too late to join the Time Machine Challenge. The posts are fantastic and I am so awestruck by the brilliance and the emotional honesty displayed. If you are participating, don’t forget to claim your badge! They make nifty souvenirs.

Lately I am not sure where I am headed. Part of me believes that is actually a good thing. But wherever I travel, I am grateful to have my tribe around me.

Another Labor Day said and done. Another summer over in the ole US of A. Okay. In my world, these artificial delineations don’t really take. I wake up lately not knowing which day it is. Wonder when I will have to start taking notice of these silly details? I have been taking notice of not so silly details. We’ll get to them later..

So much is happening astrologically that it can be overwhelming. Eclipse season, Mercury retrograde, Saturn returning to Sagittarius, yada yada yada. How do we ride the waves?

PAUSE, EXHALE, REPEAT

Writing aka blogging is one choice I make to follow these instructions. Gathering thoughts ( mine, others, the collective, etc) and arranging them into sentences. Choosing images, tags, categories, the whole enchilada. It relaxes me and helps me focus. I highly recommend writing to the uninitiated. Blogging or any creative outlet that allows the real you rise to meet the horizon.

Spent part of my day at the diner with a friend. At first the crowds and noise bothered me. It is an introvert thing. But when our table was ready, I was able to get back in the moment. We got such a great booth, by the window and all the way in the back. The irony here is that on an uncrowded day, I would have requested a particular room. Today we were lucky to just get seated. So imagine my surprise that we got the best booth in the house.

Drinking really good coffee and chatting with a friend was a nice way to spend part of the holiday. The conversation flowed with the coffee and I began to enjoy this crowded space with what seemed like hundreds of other customers.

Lakegeorgediamondpoint

After my friend left, I lingered awhile to finish my coffee. I was grooving on the music playing in the background. This diner seems to feature old school sounds from many genres, Rock, soul, pop, blues, jazz, funk. I began to hear the familiar melody of a Grateful Dead song, After careful consideration, I identified Ripple as the tune. Didn’t I just hear that while watching the film Wild this weekend? yup. Wasn’t it also featured by Playing for Change? yup. Wasn’t it also part of the post- concert show on pay per view that I have yet to blog about? yup. Do 3 yups constitute a pattern ? yup.

While I am taking in the soulful sounds, I am thinking about the past few weeks. I have been busy catching up with friends and family and having a wonderful time. The company of others has been healing. My life doesn’t suck right now. hmm…..

I begin to cast my gaze over to a row of pictures across from me as Ripple continues to move along. What do I see but a poster for Casablanca? What are the odds? There is clearly some order to this universe I find myself in, fueled by good coffee and a window view.

Before I grab my purse and head over to the cashier to pay the bill, I remember to

PAUSE, EXHALE, REPEAT

I plan to carry on with this exercise well into the cooler days, shorter nights, and later months that also end with R. I need more than good coffee to keep these ripples in motion.

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung
Would you hear my voice come through the music
Would you hold it near as it were your own?

It’s a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken
Perhaps they’re better left unsung
I don’t know, don’t really care
Let there be songs to fill the air

Sisterhood of the Traveling Business Cards

Miracles happen in my world.

I have had some recent conversations with a diverse group of people this week. Spirituality was discussed with family and friends and I was enriched by each encounter. Conversations such as these often help me clarify my opinions and refine my worldview. Miracles were on the menu and here is my current definition. A miracle is an experience that totally surpasses the limits of my wildest imaginings. Let me tell you, my imaginings are quite wild so the bar for miracles is set very high.

Here is an example of what I would call an everyday miracle. An under the radar, subtle occurrence that defies logic or my wildest imagining. It happened a few weeks ago, but I held off on sharing it here. With the Pisces Full Moon approaching and Neptune opposing Jupiter adding significant woo-woo to the mix, the time for sharing this nugget of magic has arrived.

I have a friend who I met in 2002 when I first started practicing Quakerism. We will call her Mary. Mary and her husband are lovely, kind, generous people who made me feel at home immediately. While Mary’s husband is on Facebook, Mary is not so inclined. Mary and I began to drift apart once I stopped attending Quaker worship. My separation from the faith slowly drove a wedge between us. No one is to blame. It was a natural progression.

So I was very surprised to receive an email from her right after Dexter died. We have been out of touch for over a year, maybe longer. The content of this email blew me away. I will share the miraculous portion of the communication here. I know Mary would approve.

night-kitchen-bakery

Around the time I started this blog, I had ordered new business cards. This was a big deal for me as I was beginning to shift my focus to metaphysical services. I historically have had poor success attracting business with cards. Yet many people, like my late friend Robert, would ” nudge ” me to be more proactive in marketing myself.  So I created these new cards and began handing them out as Spirit dictated. I tend to display some cards at local businesses that have a positive vibe. The Night Kitchen is a popular local bakery ( see above) that had an assortment of cards and brochures from local artisans and healers and other business people. I have left a few cards there on occasion. Just to be clear, I have never received a phone call or email as a result of leaving my cards on display. NEVER. I have been much more likely to receive referrals by word of mouth or via the internet ( this blog, Facebook, etc,) That has not deterred me from leaving cards, but I want to be clear that I have wondered if anyone has ever picked up one of my cards.

That is, until now.

On the morning that Dexter became ill, Mary and her husband traveled to my neighborhood to attend Sunday meeting for worship. They went first to the Night Kitchen to get some coffee and treats. This was prior to the 10:30 AM services. Mary noticed my business cards because she liked the design and the font. She picked one up and saw it had my name on it. She decided to keep it with her and contact me later on. She thought of me during the worship service. The service was between 10:30 and 11:30 AM. This was the exact time period when Dexter woke me up and I prepared to get him to the vet. I was frightened and prayed I could keep it together to get both of us out the door and to the vet as soon as possible. I was barely awake and feeling very disorganized. While I was getting though this difficult day, she was praying for me. Quakers call it holding one in the light.

Around this time that the service would be breaking up, I came home briefly to update people on Facebook about Dexter. I was informing my friends that we were heading to the veterinary hospital because his condition was very serious. Later that evening I updated Facebook again to let everyone know that Dexter had passed on. Mary’s husband is a Facebook friend and he informed her about Dexter. Both Mary and her husband have house sat both of my cats. They also are cat people and have had to put down one of their precious babies around the time I lost Jasmine. They took great care of Jasmine and Dexter when they lived nearby. Mary emailed me with her condolences and informed me about the events of that day.

This event is a miracle in my book. What seems like a string of random events were perfectly orchestrated to give me strength when I desperately needed it. Remember, no one before has ever contacted me to say they found one of my cards. Also keep in mind that I was no longer in touch with Mary or her husband ( except for a very loose Facebook connection). I did not even know he read my Facebook updates. When I read her email I was shocked by its contents. But on another level, I was soothed by her words. I was being taken care of by Spirit in a way that defied explanation. I was being lifted up, unbeknownst to me.

Jupiter and Neptune together are all about faith, miracles, and over the top outcomes. Fortunate encounters, fortuitous fortune, shimmering exuberance, playful joy, expanded perception, etc..  I especially like and would add the phrase ethereal voyage. On one of the worst days of my life, there was an ethereal voyage taking place behind the scenes. It was a voyage that reignited the sisterhood of two dear friends (spiritual sisters) via the magic of a single business card.

Wishing everyone an ethereal voyage on this upcoming Pisces Full Moon.

Everything old is new again and again..

It is often the simple things that lead to awakening. Just driving around my neighborhood yesterday I noticed a new store that just opened. The name of the store is Serendipity.

According to Wikipedia, Serendipity means a “fortunate happenstance” or “pleasant surprise”. It was coined by Horace Walpole in 1754. In a letter he wrote to a friend Walpole explained an unexpected discovery he had made by reference to a Persian fairy tale, The Three Princes of Serendip. The princes, he told his correspondent, were “always making discoveries, by accidents and sagacity, of things which they were not in quest of”.

I would disagree with this definition,  just ever so slightly. We are always in quest of something on the soul level. I was not looking for a new store yesterday, but it caught my attention because the word is one that I would recognize as a symbol. The soul and higher self is always alert and awake, gently guiding our physical being towards mastery.

So in honor of the Easter holy-day and the warm breeze streaming in on this sunny Eclipse Saturday, I am republishing this post Everything Old is New Again. I included a few more favorites to the mix that reveal everyday magic.  Have a simply awakening weekend!

Pieces Of My Dreams – Third Piece

get-attachment (75)

Here’s another gem from the circle of life..

Piece 3

People may wonder why I keep an email account on AOL. I know it is so 1990s but part of me resists the work involved in letting all my old contacts know I have a new address. Actually I have many email accounts with different providers but I like the AOL home page.

Stuff happens here on my AOL home page that is unexpectedly wonderful. The Waking and Sleeping Worlds Collide.

Most readers know I changed my tagline on 1-11-15 to Pieces of a Dream. It is also a name of a local band, but I did not recall this when I made the change. I just knew I heard the phrase somewhere before. While visiting AOL on Wednesday I looked at the local news  headlines and found this article:

http://www.chestnuthilllocal.com/2015/01/14/shop-local-curio-philadelphia-pieces-dreams/

The title reads Curio Philadelphia – pieces of dreams.

Here is an excerpt from the owner of the Curio Shop that I found quite inspiring:

“I like to take compromised things and not let them go, not let them end up in the trash,” said Taft, protectively. She rescued the forgotten carousel horse, reposed in dirt, at a sale in an old hotel in Schwenksville. She spoke of this prized fellow and all her “found, redefined and repurposed” treasures with the eyes of a child and the loving whisper of a mother. “Have nothing in your home that you don’t love.”

Again, like a dream weaver or fortune teller looking into the future, Taft sees things no one else sees.

“Every object has a story,” Taft said. “While in Italy I see fragments of the Roman Empire coming out of the earth. All the things here in the shop are fragments; what represents me or someone else.”

With the heart of a self-described “survivor,” Taft is called to see the potential of the whole, where others see the uselessness of the broken.

I believe I found confirmation that my new tagline is a keeper!

update: The address of the Curio Shop is 8113, which equals 1111.
