I read a piece in the NY Times today about a sociological study on the Pandemic. It was scary, illuminating, and really scary. I typed scary twice intentionally. The gist of the article is that we see our experiences from many lenses and the wait to return to “normal ” is over. Also the fact that we don’t know what we don’t know until we know.
I truly understand that I am not the same and I cannot comprehend how much I have changed since March 2020. I have done the best I could to learn, grow, and attempt to invest my energy in creating a meaningful time on the planet. I have accomplished much, but my mission is incomplete. It seems that some goals are beyond my reach while others are slowly coming together. One of the most enduring ways I make meaning is by working as a therapist and astrologer. I feel that I signed up for this before arrival and was given the tools and abilities to serve in this way. Another way I make meaning is by creative communication. These days it is mostly by blogging or photography. Creative impulses bring joy and purpose to my days. At this point my soul requires that I focus on spreading light ( or lite). It seems to be the only reason I remain tethered here.
So I am ready to announce a new blogging challenge. We have not done one in a good while and I think it is necessary to group us together. One of the reasons I stay at WP is community. I have discovered so many beings that are bright, sparkly, loving, and wise, all right here. It truly seems miraculous to me, but I think it was a reward for taking the risk to write publicly. Or maybe it is more of a byproduct, not sure.
What I am sure of is that I found a topic that seems like a great fit for our times. One that brings out the best in humanity and can foster inspiration. I suggest we write about kindness and good news!
A few weeks ( or several, whose counting) ago I watched a few features by Steve Hartman. He is a regular journalist on the CBS Sunday Morning Show. He finds people with stories with impossibly happy endings. There is often a sprinkle of synchronicity and several dashes of hope in each tale. What I notice is how my mood shifts after watching these features. I often cry and beam with hope. My frequency goes up. Sometimes it even skyrockets. He is a treasure in my book.
Whenever I get wind of positivity that is generated by love and service, my heart melts. It inspires me to do more good, not for anything in return. Only to create more of the what I desire on this planet.
So here are the rules: First off, there are very few rules as I want to create a simple challenge that people will want to join!
1 – Share a story about giving back, paying it forward, doing selfless service, creating a ripple of hope.
2 – Do so in any way you please. I only ask that your offering be new material for this challenge.
3 – Pick a date of your choosing ( Starting anytime after the first day of Spring, March 20, 2023) and let me know in the comments.
4 – Mention Spread the Lite challenge in your post and link back to this post.
5 – That’s all, your done!
Check out the links at the very end of this post for some inspiration. Tell your friends if you are so inclined. I have heard that folks enjoy my challenges and honestly, I need your company!
I hope you will be inspired to join the fun. While you are mulling it over, enjoy my photos of the first glimmer of Spring.
love ya, litebeing.
